antoine
Flight aren't cheap to Portugal (around 1600$ from Montreal in july), but we bought a ticket to Paris (950$), then a plane ticket from paris to Porto (70$ if I remember correctly). So it's not THAT expensive to go to Europe!

smailtronic
A few years back, I spent a week in Espinho (just south of Porto) for work. Not much to do in Espinho besides the casino and the beach, but they had a great little seafood restaurant called Barco Boador. We spent a couple evenings in Porto. It's a fun city to just roam the streets. Although, one night that almost led to us missing the last train back to Espinho! Grab a dinner or drinks at Sumo. Technically it's in Villa Nova de Gaia (on the south shore of the Douro), but it's real close to central Porto, and a great view at night. And don't miss the Livraria Lello, it's a huge old bookstore with an awesome spiral staircase! antoine
Thanks Smailtronic! I'll definitely go to that old bookstore, I love books! and the picture Douro riverbank 6 reminds me a lot of Québec city, where I'm from, when we use to sail on the river with my father. http://www.vte.qc.ca/uploads/Images/Quebec/Ville_de_Québec_vue_de_Lévis.jpg

Those Douro riverbank night shots were all taken from the Sumo restaurant I mentioned.
