steventangent
I didn't know it bugged anyone else...I don't know. I mean, I get it. I like a lot of the music. But at the same time...something about it just bugs me. All that said, everyone should have the first Violent Femmes record, because I think that's where a lot of this stuff came from anyway. And it's awesome.

voodooman595
Alright, I tried out everything here I hadn't heard and loved pretty much all of it. Thanks for the recommendations guys. Keep'em comin' if you've got'em.Also, I tried finding more songs by that Sycamore Smith guy but no dice. Absolutely nothing. If anyone owns the albums and wants to upload a favorite for me to try out or something, I'd be smitten. Sycamore Smith is a local artist who presses all his own CDs. He has selections from his solo material and a handful of songs from his other band (The Muldoons) under the "sonks" section of his website. david
Have you heard Laura Stevenson and The Cans yet? They've been described as folk punk, but they're not really. They are amazing however, and if you like Paul Baribeau and Eric Ayotte you'll like them.
voodooman595
Check out this old thread for a really good folk punk band. The album is still linked too. I'm still blown away by them. http://vinylcollective.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46021&start=
