One Hundred Fifty-Two
Raise a toast to Saint Joe Strummer. I think he might have been our only decent teacher.
circlingvultures
This has been bumming me out all month. How do you pick the best Clash/Strummer song? So many. I have had Love Kills stuck in my head for about 3 weeks now. From the Sid and Nancy soundtrack.

amsteel
Where's a good place to start with Strummer's non-Clash stuff?
jimmythescumbag
Where's a good place to start with Strummer's non-Clash stuff? Either one of the Mescaleros albums is as good a place as any.

Where's a good place to start with Strummer's non-Clash stuff? Either one of the Mescaleros albums is as good a place as any. in my opinion this order Global a Go-Go Streetcore Rock Art and the X Ray Stylee if you can find these, they're worth tracking down: Earthquake Weather (first post-Clash album, pretty cool "World Music Punk" kinda like what the Clash were trying to do on the Cut the Crap album, and to an extent, what Big Audio Dynamite was as well...but well, much better...) Permanent Record Soundtrack (Joe Strummer & the Latino Rockabilly War take up all of side A of this LP) Not Amazing but really good tracks the 101'ers "Elgin Avenue Breakdown" (pre-Clash pub rock band) Walker Soundtrack (Ennio Morricone-style Spaghetti Western instrumental score from a Western he starred in)
