Mexican Cheerleader "Genghis Puss" LP

The Third full length from this Chicago institution is the poppiest

Roundhouse "the Complete Discography" CD/Zine

Amazing mid-90's metallic hardcore from the Chicago suburbs, gruff

vocals, great breakdowns, plenty of chugging riffs all over the place,

a few cover songs...everything the band ever recorded! Members went on

to be in Sweet Cobra, the Killer, Enforsaken and more...really great

band for their time and the songs held up better than most, songs were

remastered by Bill Henderson from Azimuth Mastering. FFO: old

punk ska/whatever...bands ruled then, and they still rule today!

Blueprint 76, Dan went on to be in The One Thought Moment.

Tension Generation "Rid the World" LP

Rad 11 song LP of Lifetime meets Kill Your Idols hardcore. Melodic

enough to tap your foot to the beat, gruff enough to scream along and

enough breakdowns to accidentally spin-kick your friend in the face

to...if that's your thing...I still wake up with these songs stuck in

my head!

Yo Justin, you happen to know if MC's other two albums and ep ever got the vinyl treatment?

They did not, if I ever win the lottery I'll press them. It'd be nice to have 'em out but not enough people care to justify the expenses...which is sad because they've been a favorite band of mine for over a decade.

Yeah, I just got into them because of your label and wanted to snap up the old ones but I just don't buy cd's. Fuck, you can't even mediafire their stuff.

Not that I'd do that of course.

I'll have them all up on the www.undercomm.bandcamp.com site by the end of the week for cheap...I was actually working on uploading the tracks last night, but I literally fell asleep at my desk at like 2:30am.

Any update on The Killing Tree?

still in the works, working on getting the still active bands records out first...that's always the priority.

PS Capital LPs will start shipping this weekend!

If you are doing Honor System, Killing Tree, etc. you should try to do Transistor Revolt....I'm sure that would sell a ton.

I should talk to Tim & Joe about that...that'd be a fun idea...

2012 update

Eastland Disaster "I Think About You Everyday" 7"

3930497090-1.jpg

Debut 7" EP "I Think About You Everyday" coming this April on Underground Communique Records. The band features Dan and Gina Knapik on guitar and bass and Jim Farn on drums and were born from the ashes of the Venom Lords who broke up in 2011. The record has 4 songs, and comes with a download card and is on baby blue vinyl. The band plays just classic melodic punk rock in the vein of X, Descendents, the Avengers, Pegboy, etc...

There's about a million ex and present bands but most notably:

Textbook, Not Rebecca, Kamikaze Eyes, Duress, the Black Sheep Band, Slutter, Scotia Widows and the previously mentioned Venom Lords.

the Heat Tape 'self titled' 7"

New four song single! Fronted by Brett Hunter from the Copyrights/Dear Landlord, the band continues their lo-fi garagey sound. The songs have an effortless air to them and are stacked with infectious hooks that start with a casual, uncontrollable foot tapping along to the beat, quickly progressing to humming the tunes at any idle moment in the day and then into full on “obsesso mode.” These four songs are the perfect EP, there’s an ebb and flow to them and demand repeat listening. We couldn’t be more excited to be releasing this amazing EP!

For Fans of: the Marked Men, the Thermals Scared of Chaka or the Exploding Hearts

Cutman "Universal Laws" LP/CD

1496503994-1.jpg

Gainesville, FL post-hardcore band Cutman's debut album "Universal Laws" is a crushing post-hardcore masterpiece. Often compared to bands like Quicksand, Helmet, the Jesus Lizard, etc., the amalgam of those influences coalesces perfectly into 11 songs reminiscent of them all, but putting their own spin on them. It's the record that old dudes around the world have been waiting for since all their heroes are now busy playing acoustic shows and putting out substandard records under the names that once wrought fear in the hearts of man. Cutman is making new sounds evoking that time period, that noise-rock / post-hardcore hay day of yesteryear, but still moving forward, their amalgam of influences are producing some mighty exciting new ideas.
