PO:Blueline Medic - A Working Title in Green on 7"

Recommended Posts

This is another one of those things that I have been working on for some time now, and with the Shows coming up in July, this is the perfect time to make it all happen. I have to say, I am a little excited...

Blueline Medic - A Working Title in Green 7" EP (Pre order)

The year is 1999, Caustic Soda and Mid Youth Crisis have called it a day, and with the partial merging of the 2, Blueline Medic ...was born. The same year, the "A Working Title in Green" EP is released by Sony Music, and then subsequently dropped from the Label (idiots). This EP has been out of print for close to 10 years, and it will be presented here, in all it's glory, and available for purchase again... on the only format that really matters: VINYL.

Blueline Medic's "A Working Title in Green" will be released as a 7" on green vinyl, and out just in time for the Casa Del Disco 10th Anniversary shows at the Tote in late July 2012.

This is a pre order for the ep, and it has a release date of July 20th 2012.

$11 AUD (approximately $10.75 USD) before shipping? Yikes. Did you have to buy them out of their Sony contract or something?

Nope, as mentioned after this post, pressing records here isn't cheap. I wish I could sell a 7" for $5-6, but it costs me (even before paying the band) close to that to get to the final product (pressing, freight, customs fees, expensive Australian printing for the artwork)...

Sorry guys, I just do what I can.

Agreed!

Pressing vinyl in Australia is a fucking joke. So expensive and they know they can charge that amount because where else are you gonna go? There's only 2 pressing plants here. Your choices are limited. A shame. I wish they were more competitive and cheaper. We are pressing our new 7" and it actually makes you wish you didn't bother with vinyl at all but my heart says to stick to the format you love and give the music the format it is supposed to be on.

I miss Caustic Soda. What a great band. That last 7" they released on Crackle was killer!

Damn, that's nuts. Wasn't implying that you were ripping people off, just that it was crazy expensive. I guess if you're on an island, what can you do? Even if you pressed in the USA and imported them you'd probably get tagged with customs fees. Goofy.

This is actually what I do, which is where a whole bunch of the costs comes into it. It is still cheaper for me to press in the US/UK and import, and pay customs and extra packaging etc...
