Eclipsical
You'd be better spending that $70 on Craigslist and getting a vintage table. Then spend another $20-$80 on a new cartridge/stylus. I wouldn't waste my time/money with the AT-LP60...
3arl
Mine did me well for the year and a half that I had it. If you just want to stick around $70, I think it's a decent way to spend your money and definitely the best new record player you can buy for that price. 3arl
I've never heard/used one but it looks like an ion (which are known to suck)
californiaflow
It's a decent table, it's my current main one. I also have a Numark (not the USB) that I just popped a new headshell and stylus on, but never use it because it's a manual table and I can't always be bothered to get up while working. Trying to sell the guy at the moment.

donttchange
I've been using one of these for a few months now. It is definitely not ideal, lots of plastic, no adjustable counter weight, but i dont hate it. Running it through some logitech 5.1 computer speakers, truly a budget setup, but for now it sounds fine.
wheresoulmeetsbody
i've been using this table for about six months now, since my dad's old table crapped out on me and i have no money, and it's treated me well. i have a decent speaker set up (krk rokit studio monitors/sub); the sound is really good. though, once i get the money I'm definitely upgrading

3arl
That's the way to do it. Skip the middle step and buy what you were gonna end up buying in a year or two anyway. I wish I would've done that. Even though I'm pretty sure I sold my Audio Technica for more than I paid for it.

wheresoulmeetsbody
so yeah i'm using this table, and for the hell of it googled about replacing the stylus. came up with this guy : http://www.amazon.com/AUDIO-TECHNICA-ATN3600L-Replacement-AT3600L/dp/B00066XTBA think it's worth the $12? reviews said it improved the quality on the lp60. and are there any other cheap stylus options for this table to improve the quality temporarily til i can get a real table? haha
