Shitty Rambo
I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP120 with a Shure M97xE cartridge. Lately my records have been skipping a lot. Albums which used to play perfectly fine now jump and sometimes skate. Every record I've gotten from Bridge 9 lately is essentially unplayed. I've tried to adjust my tone arm height and anti-skating dial in the past but it didn't really help, and admittedly I'm not sure how they should be set. Dropping the weight helps but causes a lot of surface noise. Could the issue be with my needle or cartridge? Any information will help, thanks guys! dreamwolf
You check the level of the base? Possibly off... This has happened to me for pre-set up. My tonearm weight was terribly off and not set up properly. Your weight is most likely too heavy, thus resulting in the arm being pulled up and off the grooves. jtcohenour
I had a similar problem w/ my AT-LP 120 a while back. I replaced the cartridge and the problem disappeared. The cartridge I replaced had a years worth of use.
gabpower
I had the same problem recently and I found out it was because the speakers made too much vibrations at loud volume. Rubber feet resolved my problem.
