what condition is it in and how much would you want for it?

I have the beer colored and orange colored copies. both have been played once. These were holy grail items for me and to be honest, I'm not particularly interested in selling either but pick a color, make an offer, and we'll see if we can make something happen! I like the idea of spreading the wealth to someone who obviously wanted it as bad as I did.

our Photo Album is MEGA warped. Working through them in album and so far it's the only one. Also, unlike some of the other posts on here, ours seem to all be properly labeled.

I know this isn't going to add much to the conversation but we just found a mint sealed copy for 16 dollars at some random ass classical/jazz/blues vinyl shop in Houston. I really don't think my better half will let me sell it for sentimental reasons but if so, i'll update this thread

you know, i think i got it all out in that one post. i'm pretty zen now. since i wasn't around for it...does anyone know how people got around to getting the defective disc in Thrice - The Alchemy Index replaced? I know they eventually sent out new ones but I wasn't sure if it was something the company recognized themselves or if it was crowd driven

i'm gonna regret even responding to this now that its turned into a giant playground slapfight but I can't help but find it sort of interesting that the people who lucked out and have non-distorted copies are somehow personally offended that others did not and have used the most appropriate place here to discuss it. I definitely got one of the distorted ones and whether its due to 1) not enough deadwax 2) cartridge misalignment 3) black magic, it's sort of irrelevant because at the end of that argument my Side A still sounds hot and distorted. The snobbery and bullshit attitude from a few of you is the exact reason why so many people find vinyl collectors to be smug elitists and generally resent us and this entire culture that for most is about appreciating hi-fi audio and not just being a douche. You may not care one way or another (and i'm sure you'll be quick to reply that you don't) but it does no good for anyone to be that way.

I lucked out and got a copy in the mail from someone on this board today. emphasis on "lucked out" now that i've completed my collection of TAAS, if I find any more I'll update this page with links. good luck!

Thats the cartridge that came with my AT-LP120 and it's not bad at all, really. That said, I'm literally shopping for a cartridge upgrade this morning and I'm looking into the 440MLa because it's supposedly a pretty noticeable upgrade.

i'm late to the argument but full disclosure: i'm neither a newb nor an audiophile. Zero sounds like total distorted balls on my set up but none of the inner groove songs on the rest of the box set do. is it possible that only part of the batch could have this issue since it sounds like not everyone is noticing it? I had originally assumed it was just my cartridge/stylus but did some searching last night and saw lots of threads and reviews of people having the exact same issue. i'm definitely not sending mine back or anything like that (i'm not even a huge fan of that song) but its not my cartridge because so far its literally the only song on any record that i own that sounds that distorted and i tested quite a few last night for troubleshooting purposes. that said, this is one of if not my absolute favorite album of all time so i love it as-is, flaws and all..but i can attest to it sounding shittay in terms of being pretty heavily distorted in ways that the CD wasn't

i've had enough friends work in retail to know that the stuff that's marked down on black friday is never really the good stuff anyway. most electronic stores fire sale the crappiest models of stuff they desperately need off the floor before xmas and while it seems like you're getting a brutal deal at the time, if you wait about a month when xmas is over, the actual good stuff will be about the same price.

based on his feedback page on Discogs, he just totally phoned it in starting at the end of August. hey all- I'd love to find a copy of this 3xLP sometime in the next month or so, its my better half's favorite album of all time and we're from Lawrence so they've got an extra sentimental thing for us. I'd be happy with either pressing, but am leaning towards the Graveface reissue since they were around for 30 bucks or so last year. we have the picture disc and I don't think there were any non-picture disc versions pressed (correct me if i'm wrong). it sounds ok, but i've definitely heard better. the plastic sleeve that ours came in was really really stuck to the disc and the back flap actually broke off so I'm not sure if we got one that was exposed to the elements, so to speak, or if they were all poor quality but you might experience that too.

my local shop has a used box but in near mint condition. they're asking 75 for it, but i've seen it go for a bit lower than that online. if you exhaust all of your options and want me to go look for it for you, let me know!
