  1. I did a LOT of record cleaning research back when I was a grad student. Now as a lab director in metagenomics, I have some strict rules on cleanliness of solutions.

I throw out water in clean-rooms after a year. The growth of microbial communities can be seen in less than a month from opening a sterile water bottle.

I would throw out your bottle. Buy a MoFi Super Record Cleaner Wash, and you'll be good to go. DIY is just not worth it overall. I used to make lab grade record cleaner for people on this site 10yr ago. Cost for quality DIY vs MoFi is negligible.

  2. I'm a fan of Rotel; and they use a nice MM. Not sure the comparability of the RA-1062/RA-1570 to the A-10; but I've enjoyed their onboard phonos.

    But also

I would recommend keeping an eye out for a used higher end amp; if you are  able to find something.

This is beautiful and your experience has spurred me to get on the quest to replacing my 90's plastic receiver with digital signal paths. Are there any specific speakers people could recommend to compliment a Marantz receiver in the range of $500 or less?

Get some matching Marantz speakers from the same era. Its fun.

And then buy all modern gear.

And before you come in with your self-white-knighting about prices, a cheap AT LP60  table is identical in price to your model. The "high-end"  Victrola models are actually about $30 more than the AT LPone20 (my one key is broken)

Oh my I didn't even read what turntable they were using.

They deserve all the crying baby photos now.

For a deeper cleaning, you can make a cleaning solution by mixing 3 parts distilled water, 1 part isopropyl alcohol, and a few drops of dish detergent. Then, place your record on a cleaning mat, drizzle this solution onto the record and wipe the record with a microfiber cloth.

Nope. Ignore this. My posts dive into why this is bad.
