One thing I disliked however is that "Bonehead's Bank Holiday" song at the end of Disc 1 side 2. Such an atrociously bad song IMO, it's like a turd in the middle of an otherwise faultless record.

I hadn't heard this song before. I agree that it's somewhat annoying, but I got the impression that it was a mostly satirical attempt at making fun of your typical Blur song. Not entirely successful but somewhat amusing in that context.

  2. PRE-ORDER DETAILS

All customers who pre-order the LP version of Black Moon Spell will receive the limited, “Loser Edition” of the album on glow-in-the-dark and black splatter colored vinyl. LOSER EDITION IS SOLD OUT!

God damn it. Usually there are plenty of these in stores. Slept on it too long. Fuck.

  3. Where do you live Bake? I've had stuff from them for up to a month before. They don't buy tracking at least they haven't in the last 6 months and forever unless they updated that recently?

But yeah they're spotty when it comes to giving a customer 100% attention. They're really cutthroat and more or less into just putting out records while maintaining that garage/diy aesthetic.

I did get in contact about a 2 week delay, they told me to wait a couple more weeks because Chicago to San Diego can take a while and with no tracking they wouldn't mind sending me another copy. I told them the package finally came in 1 and a 1/2 weeks later and they could care less. No reply from their end confirming the situation had been dealt with. Honestly it felt more like they were the skeptical ones about me not getting the order right. What can I say?

I live in Boston. Maybe it just takes them forever to deliver to a coast? We'll see...

  4. Doesn't have to be shaming. Just ask your question via social media.

Whatever their excuse for dropping the ball- it's a business mistake. It's not a personal attack on you or something that you need to squeeze a cathartic payoff out of.

    Keep us updated.

I don't take it personally. It's probably not their fault. I trust them more than I trust the USPS. It just sucks because I really want the record and their communication has sucked so far.

I didn't mean to actually publicly shame them and I intend on being polite. I was just joking.

  5. You can also tweet at them or post on their Facebook. Sometimes a kind public inquiry can yield a much better response than an email.

I emailed last Thursday and then sent a follow-up yesterday.

I might try the kind public social media shaming, I just hate if it comes to that. I'd rather handle stuff like this privately.

I also haven't seen a number to call, but I may hunt for one.

  6. Does anyone have any experience dealing with Drag City on the costumer service end of things? I got word that my record shipped on August 20th and still haven't received it. I've emailed them twice and have heard nothing. Kinda at a loss on what to do next, here. I'm a little stunned they haven't gotten back to me. I mean, come on. That's beyond shitty.

  7. I haven't been able to sit through a full listen of a U2 album in years, probably since All That You Can't Leave Behind. Keep in mind that I once considered them my favorite band.

So far, this is a huge improvement, but I'm not all the way through yet. And I agree. It's certainly better than anything they've released in years, but it's also far, far, far from their glory days.

They had a great run, though. And I love that they've been the same band with the same lineup, for nearly 40 years. I don't think there's another band that has ever existed that can say the same thing.

  8. This distro is a joke. Almost a month past release and just got this.

There was a delay with the pressing, something that's been happening with a lot of smaller labels as bigger labels who spend more money take more precedence. But it's well worth the wait.

I encourage everyone to see this band live. As good as Live at the Hideout is (and I think it's incredible) seeing them in person is even better.

  9. Bought the purple off of recordmule (aka Siren Records) on Discogs only to receive the regular black version...and of course no response from the seller now....first time this has happened to me and of all records...alas....

I did the same thing and ended up with the purple. I noticed they had quite a few for sale (at least five, at a good price, too --- or "normal" price, at least). And then after I ordered, they changed the description from "colored vinyl" to "color unknown." Well, black isn't really a "color" when it comes to vinyl, right? It's just the norm. I feel like I got lucky in the end. When it was shipping, I just assumed the change of description meant I was getting regular black. I looked through their feedback and there is one mention of negative feedback about a similar issue. Kinda shady. My guess is they listed more Purple than they had and then edited the descriptions.
