Big REM fan here.  This set was my #1 want for RSD and I got (somewhat) fortunate in that I managed to get a buy it now on eBay for $160.  I also picked up another for $199 on a buy it now.  Yes, I'm one of those "open one and leave one sealed" kind of fanboy collectors.  Stupid, I know.   

Anyway, I got both in today.  I've not opened either just yet, but they're really nice except...they both have seam splits starting at the top.  I suppose that's to be expected when you pack 4 LP's into a book style gatefold-ish package and pack 'em tight in shrink, but still...irritating considering the price paid. 

These should've been in actual boxes.  Did any of you that managed to get a set that doesn't have splits forming or did I just get unlucky twice?

Just a tip, our remaining RSD stock will go on sale at noon EDT today. That's in about 15 minutes.

 

I put that Scott Pilgrim note up there a few minutes ago b/c I found a distributor that had some left. We will restock the RSD titles we can so hopefully people will get lucky later this week if we don't come through today.

 

We also are going to discount certain pre-orders today through Wednesday. Those pre-orders count towards the $25 free shipping threshhold even though they will ship after the RSD stuff. That sale is active now, but we are still adding titles to it.

I have the black MOV reissue and it is by far one of the worst sounding records I own.  Absolutely terrible in my opinion.  I love pretty much every other MOV album I own (and I have a lot) but this one is a turd. 

Zeitgeist ftw.  I loved it too.

The last newbury exclusive i purchased was the Talking Heads "Fear of Music" on green vinyl and it was warped to fuck and back.  

Would love to have this but I sure don't feel good about getting anything from there now.

I've been super happy with the MoFi releases so far regardless.  They sound fantastic.

That said, I'd love to see Death To False Metal out for RSD or a MoFi release.  I'm dying to have that on vinyl!

Not yet.  I figured I'd just complain about it on VC first.    Nah, just trying to be patient.  It's a busy time of the year.  I'm mainly just wondering if anyone else is/has been waiting for their Oldies stuff to process like I have.

Placed my last order with Oldies on 12/1 and that shit *still* hasn't been processed.  WTF?  I'm sure they've probably been hammered but damn...if you're going to have a sale like that, then you should prepare for the extra business or at least be up front with how damn long it's going to take to get orders out.  This is just ridiculous.
