Thanks for the heads up on the new pressings. The release time table was kind of shady, but I had held off on this months ago because I'm not a big fan of picture discs, so I'm happy to be able to grab it on the orange/purple /100. Came out to just under $43 shipped, so hopefully it sounds good on vinyl.

I called soundstagedirect earlier today to inquire about The Real Thing green splatter LP. The guy there says that the color variants for the FNM releases will only be released in Europe now. He said it was something to do with Warner Bros and the rights; anybody have more information?

Does anybody know anywhere in the US that might be selling the gold (webstore or otherwise)? I had preordered it from acousticsounds right when it went up on their website, but they're saying that it was MOV that changed their orders from the gold to the black; the woman I spoke to said they didn't give a reason. Either way, I cancelled my order with then and I'm looking to get the gold version elsewhere. If anybody know any place where I can find one or has an extra one for sale, please let me know (I actually started this topic 7 months ago, so it's pretty obvious how much I'd been looking forward to this one).

That's where I ordered mine from as well. I actually called them yesterday and the guy I spoke to still doesn't know when they will be getting them in. He actually didn't even seem to be familiar with the product; I had to tell him that it was an import.

Well that sucks, I was planning on picking both of them up.

Has anybody gotten any shipping notifications for Album of the Year yet? Or does anybody know the actual release date for it?

For those of you who got represses, did you have to send the original A/B side back? I emailed MOV about the issue and they said that I would need to pay to ship the A/B side back to them and then they would "do something to make up for the shipping" (their words, not mine). Is this standard?

I contacted them on Wednesday and they said that they just got them in that day and they would start shipping out today; still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation yet though.

Thanks for the detailed review 828321!! This is my favorite album of all time and I can't wait to hear it on vinyl. I actually messaged you on discogs a few months back after reading your reviews of Angel Dust on there and you were very helpful.

I'm not familiar with the Music on Vinyl label. Is this not a US release? I've been wanting to get the MoFi release, but it's alway so pricey.

So is the one coming out on record store day the exact same thing as the Mondo website release or is it actually a picture disc as was said originally? On page 44 of this thread, it looks like Mondo confirms that this is the exact same release. Or am I missing something?

Ok, this is kind of a weird question, but I just got this on vinyl and, is it just me, or does it sound terrible? The whole thing sounds of tune and just bad in general (especially on the track Suicide Blonde). I don't believe there's anything wrong with my turntable either. Maybe I got a bad pressing or something? Does anybody else have this and might be willing to take a listen and see if I'm crazy?
