  1. I haven't listened to a record in a good 8 months or more. In that time, I've maybe bought 5 records. I constantly go through periods of listening a lot and then not, have done this with most stuff I'm interested in my entire life. That said, this is my longest lull and have debating selling off stuff too. Every time I look through my records, I can't bring myself to sell anything. Just stop buying, and take your time deciding what you want to do. You might think you want to sell it all off, but then it may be hard to get stuff back if you regret it down the line.

::sigh:: the holy trinity of anime soundtracks. Probably just going to be teased, but never released.

I think a few of the Pillow's album are available on vinyl, iirc. I'm sure they are expensive as hell.

I'm glad to hear such shining reviews of the tracks. I listened to the first on when it was released, but I'm holding off from there on until it gets here. I'm fucking aaaaaaaaaamped. Found a sweet new (vintage) turntable at goodwill the other day for $7 too, so I'm going to set up a living room setup, probably listen to it in there if I can get my other (also vintage) amp all fixed up. :)

Sorry, I've been trying to figure out a way to talk about my sweet finds for a minute.

What vintage table did you find?

    Stoked for this on Friday!

I have never played VIII but will have to give a try. I honestly haven’t heard many good things about it and just assume people are blowing it out of proportion.

I can see why some people don't like it. Story is solid, but gameplay and such is different,

It's pretty awesome. The summon animations are really long, but the card game they build into it is fun.

Ugh, the card game pissed me off for some reason. Didn't make it much further than that.

VIII is really solid but it’s probably the most grounded.  From the sprites to the art style, you can tell they were taking a very different “fantasy” angle than your traditional mages, orcs, dragons, etc.  Haven’t played it in a couple of decades – goddamn I’m old – but I recall my biggest qualm being the way stats, magic, and leveling were set up.  Still worth experiencing and playing through.

It was strange. The enemies and bosses levels were based on your levels. You could run through the game and beat it pretty east still. If you maxed out your levels, the end boss was fucking insane.

Now I want to get a PSX/PS2 and replay it. I really regret selling my PS2.

Also, one more achievement and I'm done with Apex Legends. Just need to win a game with Bangalore to get a win with all 8 legends. The game has been really annoying lately.  Once I'm not broke anymore, I'll grab RE2 and KH3.

FFIII and FFVIII are my nostalgia Final Fantasies, I don't think I ever finished VII, so I'll be playing it fully through on Switch release. I think I still have ps1 copies of VII, VIII, and IX laying around somewhere.

Like you, I grabbed IX for the switch immediately but I'm holding off on getting into it until I finally finish off DK Tropical Freeze. I only have a few levels left in the last world.

VIII is my favorite by far. Never got into IX, despite trying a few times.

I've never actually replaced a stylus on a turntable. What tools would you recommend? I've seen the force scales and alignment protractors mentioned in other places.

No need to do anything really. Grado gives you a tool to slide them in and out. In your case, you may need to remove the cartridge to do it, since you have a fixed headshell. Then realign it.

I can provide better/different pics. What would be helpful?

Essentially, I'm trying to figure out how old the pieces are and then determine if they need to be replaced. Just trying to figure out the model so I know how much this is going to cost me :) Thanks again!

Stylus on those cartridges are interchangeable. If it sounds good you should be good. If your worried, buy a new stylus. I recommend the 8MZ over the Gold. Same price, but better diamond (not sure if the gold is nude or bonded).

Yes it does in this case as its a wearable part and you cant verify how much it was actually used. I wouldnt drop money like that on someones "good word" with someone you dont know. Everyday a sucker is born.

This is a million times cheaper than you'd find on any "audiophile" auction site. Hell most would have more hours and sell for more. Still, VC is not exactly known for good equipment.

Just wanted to say I finished this last weekend. And what an experience it was. It was the first game I threw in once I got my One X. Visuals are stunning. But that aside, it also hit close to home for me. Defeating the darkness. Psychosis. All of it. Its subject matter was handled very well. Despite it being a relatively short story, it took me a number of weeks to finish because I would play it for like an hour and become so tense and anxious that I had to put it down, step away, and collect myself. Took me many play sessions to get through it in full. But I'm glad I did. What a special game.

Past few nights, I've tried to focus on a light-hearted game. Been playing Yoku's Island Express on my Switch. Took me a while to get into it but stuck with it, and I'm really enjoying the game thus far.)

Missed your post. I have yet to revisit it, but maybe I should. You experience is very similar to mine (obviously). I will finish it.

Anyone gonna try Apex Legends? It looks like it might be the best of all these battle royals, but I've never played Titanfall.

I played it a bit yesterday. It is great. Never played Titanfall, so I'm getting used to the gun play and such. Despite getting destroyed most of the time, I'm really enjoying it.

Titanfall 2 is on sale for $4.50 on xbox live, so grabbed that. Heard great things about the story and play Apex Legends made me want to try similar gunplay.
