So, today, I won a copy from the Hastings Facebook contest they did. First thing I did was call their customer service and CANCEL my preorder. The dude was really nice and told me I was all set and to expect an email within 15 minutes. Pretty soon, I got the email saying my cancellation was in process. Many hours later, AFTER the time you're able to call them, I received an email saying they can't cancel my order because it had already been processed. I sent them a reply saying its a preorder and that it hadn't shipped yet so they should be able to cancel like I was told on the phone. 7 minutes later, I received a shipping notification. Great.

if you end up getting two after all, I'll be glad to help out & buy one!

quick question - how is the flenser usually when it comes to shipping? been waiting almost a month for a sannhet cd/record bundle. don't want to shoot them an email if they just tend to be slow to ship. 

updated. selling off all my whirr, someone take it off my hands.

I'm pretty late on this, but did anyone have any issues with their copy? I didn't pick up my delivery from my PO box until last weekend, finally gave it a spin last night and there's a pretty bad edge warp, queuing at the start will send the need skidding a second or two into the first track on both sides, the tone arm moving up/down/left/right the entire time, and there's some pretty bad surface noise at the start of side B.

 

I've emailed 4AD/Matador to see if anything can be done. The album has grown on me since my last post in the thread, but I'm not happy with there record itself.

no problems here w/ my clear copy. it sounds exceptional, actually.

might just be a defective copy
