  1. don't need that one, the 2 on there i want have been out of stock since RSD. thanks anyway. the US pressing is still readily available of "Songs To Fan The Flames...", the EP's are the ones i'm after.
  2. bump. can anyone in the US confirm that they actually got a Bonnie Prince Billy 10" on RSD? i haven't noticed anyone mention it in the "bought" thread. maybe i'm wasting my time on that one.
  3. hey, any label that puts out records by bands i like, i'm all for it. keep it up, i'm envious. i wish i had the funds or enough willpower to stop buying records for a year in order to afford it :-/ i do think some people are overreacting to the small lapse of communication for a couple days, it's a miracle you're here responding to any of these rants at all. it has to be frustrating to hear any complaints with your releases. i've seen some brutal comments on the last 2 releases. if i could find that Constants record in my collection right now, i'd throw it on. it's currently lost in the abyss with all the other spineless jackets.
  4. no one can outfar Far Spiritfall and Simon Says were better Far wannabes than Finch could ever be. your poll just lost a lot of credibility.
  5. really? mine wasn't too bad when i spun it the other day. yep. i don't really care for any metallic color vinyl. Pirates Press i think are normally the only plant that do them. something about their actual vinyl material they use to press seems to cause more friction on the playing surface, or something. this sounds crazy, but there are records you run the carbon fiber brush over to clean the surface before playing and it's a smooth wipe. other records you can tell there's a good amount of friction on the brush and it tends to pull harder on the bristles when running it across. i've always heard more surface noise from their records, especially the opaque, metallic colors or haze ones. their records somehow seem to look more "plastic" than most US pressings too. i'm probably just crazy, but i notice this mundane crap. and speaking of TRL, time to throw on the new Turing Machine!
  6. to say that this album is mature and i don't "get it" makes no sense. i've been listening to Faith No More do FAR more impressive shit since the 1990s, this album doesn't compare to anything they've done and i've always felt all the singer was doing on this was trying to be as much like Mike Patton as possible. just like he wanted so bad to be Daryl Palumbo on WIITB. i'd say this is the by-product of bands like Faith No More and Dillinger Escape Plan influencing them and the band trying to be as complex as possible in return. unfortunately, it doesn't suit them and i really don't think they've got what it takes to be "progressive". i'm all for a band growing and trying new things, but this sounds like they were trying too hard to not be the band they were on WIITB.
  7. yep. all my EITS on black vinyl pop and the vinyl looks flawed in spots. not a huge bummer since i got most of them for $5 or so, but still it's just mildly annoying to listen to quiet, instrumental music with lots of popping or the scrape on every spin. pretty much all splatter records i've had that issue with on the inner grooves, i don't know if i'm alone in that. i can see why Dead Format had made such a big deal out of "fuck splatter vinyl". looks cool, sounds meh. overall, i think this record sounds awesome despite the little parts of the first half of side A. i'm surprised it clears up, usually the crackle is pretty consistent throughout. side B sounded perfect to me though.
  8. ordered a couple copies. $6 shipping, sheesh. hope I get a refund

  10. are you ready? May 29th. http://www.comedycentral.com/video-clips/qslpb3/workaholics-best-of-2011
  11. silly Baroness, it's Green & Yellow. Lil Wayne is pissed.
  12. a fair amount were, until the last year or so. Eksi Ekso was maybe the start of plant switching? ÆGES seems to be the first one that has come back to Pirates, unless the Caspian repress was also? i haven't even cracked that box yet. i saw what looked like a metallic gold in the pictures, so i don't have any faith in the pressing :-/ as expected, tons of surface noise and pops on this metallic gold Tertia repress. 3 Pirates Press.
  13. he never said a word about this the next day or since, i think he doesn't really care to trade it or sell it :-/ sorry.
  14. i never thought it was before, i never even heard that before until i saw that on the discogs listing. kinda strange.
  15. damn, someone just offered me a Heady Fwends from recordnerd.com because his account he signed up for on here isn't active yet. i really want the Ryan Adams (or i should say my friend does), but i don't see it happening. the only thing i really need is Minus The Bear since i've been able to get everything else from leftover sales otherwise. just checked the guys list that wants Arcade Fire and Coldplay, and he has the Ryan Adams. sure wish he was offering that too. oh yeah, and Bonnie Prince Billy. it's on discogs now and it says released in UK so maybe that dang thing wasn't here for US RSD. sounds like it'll be a tough one to trade for.
  16. http://home.comcast.net/~deafmx/ITTCT.mp3 if anyone wants to hear the "affected area" of the record.
  17. 16 1-sided, etched b-side 7"s in a boxset, hand-numbered, with a bunch of useless "deluxe" shit no one needs. i can see it now.
  18. correct me if I am wrong, but isn't all (or at least all I have seen) of mylene's releases pressed using pirates press? a fair amount were, until the last year or so. Eksi Ekso was maybe the start of plant switching? ÆGES seems to be the first one that has come back to Pirates, unless the Caspian repress was also? i haven't even cracked that box yet. i saw what looked like a metallic gold in the pictures, so i don't have any faith in the pressing :-/
  19. fuck, this album rules....despite A side pops and crackling. side B plays clean. ripped side A and i keep trying to edit it down, but i just keep jamming it over and over since it's so good and keep forgetting. ha.
  20. lastwordspoken was super prompt with payment for the Dave Hause 7", even with an extra $1 (sorry!). thanks for the shout. i figure the least i could do for the paypal fees was to load your box with as much extras and an Airheads if my stupid sig wasn't maxed out on character, you'd be right in there with the best of them. maybe it's time to find a smaller URL for the TV img....
  21. bump. really? no one wants to trade off a Heady Fwends?
