  1. Dear friends! There's not a ton of content I have for our little chat today, but some cool stuff to check out, regardless. Including a TON of tour dates for Gilead Media artists! THOU "SUMMIT" TOUR EDITION CD So, as most fans of the band know by now, Thou are on tour and currently have in tow a tour edition of their upcoming full-length, Summit. These are limited in numbers, 200 copies, and contain a screen printed outer jacket on 100% recycled paper using non-toxic inks and a litho printed inner lyric sheet on onion skin vellum paper. It really is a pretty striking presentation. There's a long convoluted story as to why we did this, why the official version wasn't finished, but I'm sick of thinking about it. So instead you get these photos I took while my brother and I assembled the handmade version. Check out the Gilead Media Blog in order to read a fun story and see cool photos. http://broad-cloak.blogspot.com GILEAD MEDIA ONLINE STORE UPDATE! As I was packing up mailorder today, I realized something absurd. Krallice "Dimensional Bleedthrough" is OUT OF PRINT on CLEAR vinyl. This probably wouldn't have happened so quickly had one of the boxes marked as black vinyl not actually been clear... but now some lucky kids buying the records at the store are going to be stoked. At any rate, I added a few items that you should get on ASAP! To pick up any of these, one of the FIVE Krallice s/t LPs left, or anything else, check out http://www.gileadmedia.net Giants "Old Stories" Gatefold LP $14.00 Masakari "The Profit Feeds" Gatefold LP $12.00 Northless "Leaving the Wolves" Cassette $4.00 SO MANY TOUR DATES! Seriously, an absurd amount. Simple date/city info below with a link to check out each band's respective webpage for more detailed information. ARMS ALOFT are busting out on a short string of weekend dates that will take them to Chicago. Don't miss out seeing some of the best melodic pop-punk you will ever hear. MEWITHOUTYOU are in the midst of a huge tour that will take them to Europe and back. Still a good chunk of US dates available, too! We just finished making all of the buttons for the tour, too! THOU are in the middle of their big summer tour out west and back. Support them, pick up the SUMMIT tour CD and rejoice. ROCKY VOTOLATO is busting out a tour solely consisting of living room shows. Righteous. I can't wait for the Milwaukee one myself. Some of them are sold out, though, so check his website for ticketing info. There will be no door admission at the living room shows, advance tickets only!! 2. Krallice "Dimensional Bleedthrough" 2LP photos // Thou US Tour // Rocky Votolato US Tour // New & Restock distro stuffs I thought that things would be slowing down around here, but everything just keeps getting crazier and crazier. The Krallice 2LPs have been flying out the door, which is great to see. Thanks to all who have ordered! If you run a label and are interested in any trades, get in touch! I suddenly have a ton of screen printing stuff to do for various Gilead releases, and I'm working on some stuff for the Thou/Moloch split that Perpetual Motion Machine and Feast of Tentacles are releasing. Great labels, great split. I'll have a big batch of copies as soon as that's done so keep your eyes out for that. There's also quite a few Gilead titles that have begun falling out of print, and some other goodies I found lying around the storage area. AB Life screen printed edition LPs are pretty close to gone, so if you wanted one do not wait any longer. You'll probably miss out. I also added a good chunk of new distro titles, some very exciting stuff, in addition to a few restock items that sold quickly. KRALLICE "DIMENSIONAL BLEEDTHROUGH" 2LP PHOTOS! You may have seen some of these photos on Invisible Oranges over the past week. Here they are now, with a couple additional ones. Enjoy! And if you haven't picked this up yet then luckily you can rectify the error of your ways - http://www.gileadmedia.net/store. It will also be available in stores mid-June. TONS OF NEW DISTRO STUFF/RESTOCKS Just added a big ol' batch of new and restocked goodies to the online store. This includes some Minsk 2LPs I found with busted seams that I'm selling off cheap, and some Thou "Retaliation" 12"s in a distro order that never got paid for. Check em out below and pick up some records: http://www.gileadmedia.net/store. Listen links are also available in the Gilead online store. Black Freighter "Graves and Monuments" LP - $13.00 Released by Vendetta Records. Blurb from the label: "Black freighter's sound is dirty ; downtuned guitars , lots of feedback ; brutal and aggressive vocals ; you can hear influences from eye hate god to godflesh to coalesce and his hero is gone ; a perfect mix of sludge / industrial / hardcore" Listen: Myspace. Chicago Thrash Ensemble Untitled 12" One-sided EP w/B-side Screen print - $7.00 Released by Plastic Airlines. Fantastic, fast, pissed grinding brutality from Chicago. Excellent screen print on the blank b-side of the LP + Screen printed heavy duty jackets. So good. Blurb from the label: 7 brand new ragers from the Chicago Thrash Ensemble. 6 originals and a cover of "Motor Man" by The Fighters. 300 copes. East of the Wall/Year of No Light/Rosetta Split 2LP - $20.00 Released on vinyl by Vega Vinyl. Three atmospheric and experimental heavy bands team up for an outrageous split. Packaging looks great on this! Listen: East of the Wall Myspace, Rosetta Myspace, Year of no Light Myspace. Fell Voices "Fell Voices" LP - $10.00 Quite the hidden gem here from these California bay-area black metallers. The label (Human Resources) got in touch with me for a trade and I was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. These guys will be doing some CA tour dates with Thou in June, so don't miss out. Jam some songs and pick this guy up! According to the label this record goes "far beyond black metal", I would tend to agree. 180 gram Giant Squid "The Ichthyologist" Gatefold 2LP - $22.00 Released on vinyl by Vega Vinyl. Blurb from the CD label, The End records: From one's lowest moments, the greatest adventures can begin, and true freedom can be discovered. Such is the journey that The Ichthyologist, sophomore release from Giant Squid, takes listeners on from its first pounding, other worldly crescendo to the final sweet release at its conclusion. Based on a yet to be released graphic novel of the same name, written by Giant Squid founding member, Aaron Gregory, The Ichthyologist is a concept album of grand scale. Through the thoughts of the album's protagonists, a man stripped of his humanity and left with nothing but the sea in front of him, comes a story about adapting in inhuman ways to survive the shock of human loss and total emotional tragedy, becoming something else entirely in the process. Highgate "Shrines to the Warhead" LP - $13.00 Released by Vendetta records. Limited to 300 copies, hand numbered and all on black vinyl. Blurb from the label: Highgate, a Kentucky trio play nasty sludge in the vein of Burning Witch, Toadliquor, Grief, Noothgrush, Winter, Wreck of the Hesperus and Corrupted. Seriously, if you’ve been having recent talks on the suicide hotline and consider yourself a personal danger whenever you are around sharp objects…I highly recommend not listening to this. This record is up there in the top five of the all time most disgusting, horrifying doom/sludge releases ever…well, released! Highgate play evil, straight from fucking hell sludge/doom that is as easily anguished and bile-filled as anything that ever came down the pike…classics like Burning Witch, Toadliquor and Winter all included. Thou "Baton Rouge, You Have Much to Answer For" Gatefold 12" - $13.00 *RED VINYL ONLY* Released by Robotic Empire. Blurb from the label: Easily one of the most exciting modern sludge/doom bands going, THOU calls Louisiana home and have channeled lifetimes of depression & decay as the inspiration for "Baton Rouge, You Have Much To Answer For." Scathing commentary laid down by hateful blackened vocals is merged with some of the most crushing riffs conceived in ages. Incredibly deep tones and bludgeoning drumming are combined with a surprising amount of melody and years of honed songcraft to create a powerfully heavy release. Two pummeling tracks over 15 minutes span the A-side, while the B-side of equal length finds an instrumental drone piece along with a spectacular NIRVANA cover that puts a completely crushing take on the "Bleach"-era tune, ’Sifting.’ Comes in a gatefold jacket and on red vinyl limited to 800. Thou/Leech "We Pass Like Night, From Land to Land" EURO EDITION Split LP - $17.00 The European edition released by Vendetta records. This version includes a single sleeve jacket with printed inner sleeve and poster. All copies on white vinyl. The jacket also has different photos for the "swamp" and "cascadia" sides of the art. Minsk "The Ritual Fires of Abandonment" Gatefold 2LP (Bustead seam copies) - $10.00 I found a few of these in a box with some other damaged sleeve records. Everything will play fine, it's just the top and bottom seams were blown out during shipping. This record is otherwise long out of print. Black vinyl only! Thou "The Retaliation of the Immutable Force of Nature" 12" - $9.00 "Retaliation" contains the last two tracks from the "Tyrant" CD that are not on the "Tyrant" LP released by Southern Lord. I found 5 copies in a box that I set aside 4 or 5 months ago for an export distro shipment. The customer never responded or paid so now you get a chance to snag one of these babies up! This record includes a large hand screen-printed single color poster on butcher paper, a screen printed cardstock insert with letter pressing on the reverse side, and the fantastic "Animal Liberation, Human Annihilation" 2-color patch. Everything was hand screen printed by either myself or Chris Sommer from Sacred Tapes, with letterpressing done by Bryan Funck. These are the last 5 copies I have. This may be repressed sometime in the fall after Summit is all settled up. But now before then. 8. RE: KRALLICE Getting this record to my house has just been an absurd uphill battle. But I just talked to the shipping company and made the delivery appointment for Thursday morning. This was the earliest I could get. I would go pick it up an hour away, but it's 850 lbs and I can't get two cars down there by 5PM. So Thursday it is. I want to thank everyone for their infinite patience here. I really appreciate it. The band, my distributor and Profound Lore all got theirs, and everyone says they look fantastic. I'm going to have some photos up over at Invisible Oranges tomorrow as soon as the records arrive. Thanks again, and keep your eyes peeled for those paypal shipping notifications tomorrow!
  9. So glad these are finally shipped out and such. Thanks to all who picked one up!
  10. I'm really glad those of you that have received yours & posted are happy with the records. I was pretty pleased myself! Thanks for your patience!

  13. Ink = Delivered Paper = Cut Printing = 7pm tonight Krallice 2LPs = May 12th arrive @ Gilead HQ
  14. OK, here's what's shaking @ Gilead - I know I should've listed that the MWY records weren't ready to go yet, for this I apologize. But ANYONE who has EVER ordered from me knows that I'm good for it and I never try to intentionally make people wait for records. Things have been really busy, but the paper should be here by Friday and I'm hoping to print the jackets on Sunday. So, unless I throw 4 screens out the window in a furious rage, then they'll ship before I go on tour with Thou next week. - Krallice 2LPs Had a problem with the first set of test presses, second ones just got approved, all should be on it's way to me and arriving here by May 12th, and I'll be turning them around next day for all pre-orders. Again, sorry to make people wait, it's vinyl, crap happens. Again, you know I'll get you the goods, I love my mailorder friends. - Get Rad shirts Printing em Sunday, blanks came today. I think that's everything? I dunno. I made 4k buttons today and mowed the shit out of the lawn. That was cool. Also, my wife's Etsy items may potentially be featured in a french magazine's Hand-Made article, also cool. That's my life. I'll be on tour with Thou May 7-9 in Florida. 15. Things have been nuts over here! We have the Get Rad CD/LP available now, the Arms Aloft CDEP available now, and the response to the Krallice "Dimensional Bleedthrough" 2LP has been great. So, thank you if you've pre-ordered! If you have not yet pre-ordered, then that will take us to the first order of business (among much other awesome news)... FINAL DAY TO ORDER KRALLICE "DIMENSIONAL BLEEDTHROUGH" 2LP +SHIRT Yup, that more or less says it. If you were waiting to order the 2LP with a shirt then today is the final day. At 11:59p today I will be removing the t-shirt option. Get them orders in! http://www.gileadmedia.net/store GET RAD "I CAN ALWAYS LIVE" CD/GATEFOLD LP AVAILABLE NOW NOW NOW! + EXCELLENT PRESS LINKS You know, I've been a huge fanboy for everything Dave Rudnik (Bass - Get Rad, other stuff in Seven Days of Samsara, High on Crime, Kungfu Rick, and a ton of other righteous bands) since I started getting into hardcore. In addition, I was always a huge Since by Man fan (Kevin, vocals for Get Rad played guitar for SBM). So naturally when I first heard about Get Rad I was really excited to see what it was all about. I was never let down. Every release reveals more and more how much can be awesome and righteous in hardcore. Get Rad are about as good as it gets. So, April 2010 we will present what I strongly feel is one of the best hardcore records I've heard in years. Get Rad capture an energy and excitement that I've come to think was lost in hardcore. I am elated to be involved in the process of releasing the record. "I Can Always Live" will be presented in CD and Gatefold LP format (with digital download). Get stoked, stay rad. Head on over to the store to hear two songs from the record, "Life Without a Plan" and "Honest Man/Wild Man". Great stuff. Oh, don't forget to get one of those excellent shirts with the CD or LP as well! http://www.gileadmedia.net/store Check out some cool Get Rad articles here: Doctor's of Za - http://www.doctorsofza.com/2010/03/best-song-about-pizza-ever/ Shepherd Express (Milwaukee) - http://www.expressmilwaukee.com/article-10260-get-rad-celebrates-five-years-of-growth.html Punknews.org - http://www.punknews.org/article/37627[/img]http://www.punknews.org/article/37627 The Onion's AV Club - http://www.avclub.com/milwaukee/articles/milwaukees-get-rad-celebrates-5-years-of-radness,39037 FREE MP3s TO STREAM/DOWNLOAD I set up at least two free songs for each Gilead Media release in the store so you can hear anything before you buy it. Now is your chance to realize how excellent some of the lesser known Gilead releases are from bands like Black Arrows of Filth & Impurity, Heller Mason, and The Paper Chase. Not to mention hearing tracks from the great new Arms Aloft and Get Rad records! Do it! http://www.gileadmedia.net/store MEWITHOUTYOU "[A-->B] LIFE" LP - SCREEN PRINTED EDITION LTD TO 90 The grey pressing of AB Life was a bit of an overrun and resulted in a batch of records arriving without jackets to find a cozy home within. These have just been hanging out for a good couple years or so. Occasionally I would remove a black LP from a jacket and fill it with a grey LP to fill an order and such, but they generally sat untouched. I decided to go ahead and screen print some folding jackets and slim inserts, providing a limited edition version that will essentially only be available here, one time. The band is getting a small batch, about 14, but I'm not sure if they're going to bother selling them or just hold onto them or pass them around to friends and family. So here they are, only 36 on black, 53 on grey, and one on clear orange from the first pressing. These colors will be filled into orders randomly, so please don't request a color because your request will be ignored. All copies will be hand numbered /90. These LPs will be first come first served, no trades, no wholesale, no reserves. http://www.gileadmedia.net/store That's all for now, hope you found something to get excited about! Definitely listen to some of the mp3s from Gilead releases, I know you'll find something you like! Oh yea, remember to follow Gilead Media on these fine social networking websites: http://www.facebook.com/gileadmedia http://www.twitter.com/gileadmedia http://broad-cloak.blogspot.com Thanks to you all... until next time! -Adam/Gilead Media http://www.gileadmedia.net

  17. Just came here to post that! Maybe if I would've been up before 11 am.... Got my stack of the LPs today FINALLY. Just in time. You want 5 clear/5 black?
  18. Yes! Buy that "What The Fuck..." 12", it's absolutely outstanding!
  19. I'm quite excited to announce that we're finally taking orders for thew new Get Rad album "I Can Always Live". The record is available as a CD ($9) and Gatefold LP ($13) (clear or black, includes digital download code), with the option to order either format with an exclusive t-shirt printed on an Anvil ringspun 100% cotton tshirt ($19/$23), which has a similar fit to American Apparel. All individual CD/LP orders will begin shipping immediately, but any record ordered with a shirt will ship on or around 4/12, so we have time to gather quantities and print em. Here is the blurb for the record, along with photos of the vinyl & tshirt... You know, I've been a huge fanboy for everything Dave Rudnik (Bass - Get Rad, other stuff in Seven Days of Samsara, High on Crime, Kungfu Rick, and a ton of other righteous bands) since I started getting into hardcore. When Dave proposed the idea of Gilead working with Hyperrealist to release the new Get Rad full length, I Can Always Live, how the hell could I possibly even say no to that. There was no decision to be made, quite frankly. It had to happen. Not only because of my aforementioned love for the band, but because I've come to find a great friend in Pat who runs Hyperrealist, and I've really just been looking for a good reason to work on a record with him. Just perfect. So, April 2010 we will present what I strongly feel is one of the best hardcore records I've heard in years. Get Rad capture an energy and excitement that I've come to think was lost in hardcore. I am elated to be involved in the process of releasing the record. To order now directly from Gilead Media head on over to the new, simple online store http://www.gileadmedia.net Since this is a split release with Hyperrealist records you also have the option of ordering from them via Shirtkiller, who are now handling all their online mailorder. They should have the CD+LP posted later on today! Thanks!
  20. Also, an interview with Bryan from Thou is up now at the Chainsaw Justice blog. It includes details as to who will be releasing their new record, SUMMIT. http://chainsawjustice.blogspot.com/
  21. Thanks for the love! Glad ya'll are stoked on records and shirts!
