  1. ...so glad i didn't put mine up. I knew that japanese one was too good to be true
  2. Cool! Well, that's a unanimous decision. Let me add this, though, for further comment: I have been a voracious frusciante fan for many years. I believe I own every commercial john solo vinyl. I have shadows collide and the empyrean on LP I have all the 6 solo LPs, 3 of which are factory sealed. I have a sealed brown bunny soundtrack LP I also own the GSL special 12 7" set, which of course has the split 7" with omar and john. Now, if I sell this piece, I will be left with an incomplete collection. $1000 (I'm estimating more like $700 after true bidding and shipping and ebay fees?) VS a lifetime of knowing I have this big hole in the collection does this change anyone's mind?
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350295928507&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I own one of these. I actually bought it when it was originally released, not 100% sure but I think it was Vinyl Fetish on Melrose in LA? Can this be right? the description even says the sleeve has some issues. Mine is near-mint? I've cradled and loved this record, only played it a handful of times, what are the chances I could get near this amount if I were to sell it? I notice it's in Japan, is this some Japanese bidding weirdness? crazy
  4. Hey There I think somebody had linked to this before here...there is a website where you can search for an album title (for example) and it will list all the ending prices on ebay auctions from the past months? anyone know where this is? thx aLPha
  5. Anyone have info on vinyl release of It's Blitz or associated single "Zero?" THx
  6. Oh man, this is awesome! infatuating docu... That guy who wants to collect every song in the world, ever is very scary. He has a whacked alphabetical system which is by artist First name(?) but he doesn't count The because then the T's would be too big. LOL I don't know what year this was filmed, clearly it is after the CD revolution...but when the guy says there's only 4 bands that start with Q he is way off. Queen Quiksilver Messenger Service Queensryche Queens of the Stone Age Quarterflash Quiet Riot Q and Not U Quasi to name a few...
  7. *Third attempt at posting photos* In honor of the announcement of the title of the new YYY record (It's Blitz) here you have my YYY vinyl collection. I also have a fuckload of their CDs among other tchotchkes. Note the matchbooks and sticker set with the UK Show Your Bones. The Heart-shaped discs include temp. tattoos.

  9. Oh and Aural Exploits confirms that the pressing plant made an error and the sticker was supposed to go on the LP sleeve on the back. they put it on the front OUTSIDE the shrink. So I will have to either ditch the custom # or slit it open (which I hate and is annoying and I have OCD) or keep it sealed
  10. I already have the original 7" which came along with the original 12" !!!
  11. Well I do have a fairly beat-up original press already. Investment value?
  12. dang, I've been watching these for a long time. I'm broke right now though. You got it for a good price it usually goes for around $50 A classic album that relatively few people have heard...
  13. Received mine today! Questionable whether I will open it. I didn't know they were going to be individually numbered! However the individual number is on a sticker outside the shrink. Does anyone know if there is also a number inside the packaging? Mine is 818/1000
  14. http://www.suck.uk.com/product.php?rangeID=116 interesting...
  15. PPS I've been collecting vinyl on and off since before many board members were born so ... chump out on that shizz homie
  16. Not only that but I didn't know how many were pressed, so how do I know how rare it is? The whole reason for my original question... Excuse me but I had no idea that my kinsgs of leon records suddenly became very valuable... and they're not much older than build a nation ... and the band is arguably way less awesome than bad brains. but you go ahead and waste bandwidth on your anger, get it out, its gonna be OK
  17. Hola Anyone have pressing info for Bad Brains- Build a nation vinyl? I possess both the tri-colored 12" and the 7" box set. Looking to sell one or the other but, which one is most valuable/rare? TIA L
  18. That's exactly it ... I dont want to risk losing these valuable items for less than a certain amount. I have recently lost my job. I need money and so I'd love to wait until ... never ... to sell any records but I simply don't listen to these and I started collecting the GSL 7"s a while ago but I know I'll never keep it up. Just last week I passed on 2 GSL color 7"s at Amoeba SF which I don't have ... and I could have just kept the collection going. At one point I started collecting the GSL 12"s but I eventually realized that I actually hate most of the music that GSL put out. I got caught up in a frenzy of Mars Volta adoration. So yes I know, I don't bid on reserve items either. But this is also a good way to gauge if these records are worth what I think they are worth ... it's negligible. Anyway the reserve is $150 am I high? L
  19. here's the link, FYI http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=190273563342
  20. I'd love to know why California has neffver been pressed on vinyl (that I know of) and, they are reissuing their 1st 2 albums only!?!?! They only have 3 albums. All three are on WB. Why only do the 1st two?
  21. start at amoeba (sf or berkeley). at the info counter they have a list of almost every record store in the bay area. its like a take out menu, you can take it with you
  22. Haha great topic ... I actually have a vinyl flight case in which I keep my most prized / pricey records. I keep it in the closet nearest the apartment door. In event of fire, earthquake or zombie horde, I can grab these records (as well as my prized sratocaster, kept in the case in same closet) and run... nerd alert
