Do non-DJs actually use slipmats? I never have because I'd have to re-balance everything or so I'd assume. Not to mention I wouldn't want any slipping going on whatsoever.

So I bought 3 "variants" from the guy that was selling the blue Remains. He said there were 14 copies of the record that had mixed color and I bought three of them.

It turns out they aren't really mixed color so much as they are one record of one color and one record of another color. I'm feeling a little ripped off since there is no way to call these limited since all someone has to do is buy two copies of the record and swap discs.

Argh - Do you think I am right to make a fuss?

Hard to say without seeing some pictures. The colors really aren't any different?

After the whole 'limited to 20' blue thing, I've soured on buying anything that isn't obviously different from the rest.

Alternative Press did an article about this guy's collection and I thought it was such a great story. And then I got outbid by him at the last minute on something that very same week. Dammit.

Before eBay, it was terrible. I couldn't even be sure a couple releases existed on vinyl. People at record shows would insist/think they did but I couldn't find them. I'd look for years and years to no avail. I'd dream about finding them over and over again. Thank goodness eBay was invented

im wondering how many lps the smallest unit holds. if i had to estimate, id say somewhere between 425-500. which means do i go bigger and grow into it, or buy the smaller, which will suit my more immediate needs. hmmm...

The labels being on the wrong side was a lot more common back when vinyl was the mainstream format. It's usually considered a mistake and not much of a collectable.

I just checked two of the MICF auctions I was watching and sure enough, two different color labels.

But then again, MICF has 4 different versions as well haha ( black with orange labels, black with black labels, orange with orange labels, and orange with black labels)

no shit? i wasnt aware of this, whats the pressing info for them? the different labels mean first/second press? mine is sealed but im pretty sure its black.. i may have to open it and find out for sure now.

I've got an orange and a black copy. I've never seen a black label before

I have a question for people who ordered this from Victory and are having it shipped by FedEx.

Do they deliver on Saturdays? My package arrived here at 4:59 AM and was placed on a delivery truck at 7:51 AM, but the status says it's not being delivered until the next business day. Why would they put it on a truck in the morning unless they were delivering it?

I just dug out my copy of this, mine's 876/1000, this album sounds absolutely fantastic on vinyl too, good catch to whoever gets this one!

Question: Where is the number on yours? Because for the life of me, I can't find one on mine and I don't think it is numbered.

Bottom right hand corner, back cover. It's a sticker, so if your LP is missing the shrink wrap, it could potentially have been peeled off, I guess

ive noticed that a lot of stuff pressed with pirate press has the matrix ending in A for all sides. you have to look at the number preceding the A in order to know which side it is. i dont know if thats the case with your record, being that i have the euro version of the absence of truth, but thats how it is for a lot of pirate presses.

Right. That's what my 'absence of truth' shows. xxxxxxE1/A, xxxxxxE2/A, etc.

Oh, and Grandma's Hands by Bill Withers always makes me miss my grandma. But I liked that song my whole life, so it's more of a good sad
