i think i already sold my loved ones s/t 10". that must have took forever to sell out. i seem to remember it being around for a long time. i don't think i got much of anything for it on ebay either, if i'm remembering right. i'll have to look when i get to unpacking that room.
i know i'll be putting up the 2 smoke or fire lps soon. and a me first country. and probably the entire ramones tribute lps, but i've sold off some pressings over the years, so i just have mostly 1 of each now left.
i didn't pick up the fat record. i like them when they come up in the 'party shuffle' a song here and there, but never really listened to them a lot all the way through.
i have their 4-song demo as MP3s. i'm pretty sure i d/l'ed it from their myspace or webpage at some point.
the one i'm still kicking myself for is face to face-don't turn away 1st press on dr. strange. i don't know how i missed this even existing until a few months ago.
Are your Smoke or Fire LPs colored? I need a clear blue Sinking Ship and I'll pay good money for it. I'm tired of looking for one. I also have some nice trade bait depending on what you're looking for

There's a cd single that was released in the UK with "Slumming It With Johnny" as a b-side. I guess that's probably a vinyl version. but it looks like it's been out for a year.
Correct, I bought it when it first came out and that was very close to one year ago
But other than that, I don't think there's anything special about it besides the non LP b-side. A fairly common UK single

I hear that the sound quality on that Refused album is pretty horrible...
Utter nonsense
-
A couple quick searches came up with these. One limited to 300 copies (US promo), the other to 600 (UK?)
-
has anyone else not received their last installment yet?
Nothing yet, in ohio.....
Got mine yesterday (Boardman) so you can't be far behind...

Nirvana - Love Buzz 7"
Guy had two of them and wanted $30 each. They weren't bootlegs because it was just as Nirvana broke out of the underground. I had it in my hands! And it's not like I passed on buying it, I only had $20 to my name because I was only about 15 years old. So I bought Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" 12" pic disc instead although the Nirvana record was my first choice. Thanks for making me re-live that. :'( :'( :'( :'(

They released both. The orange copies have dried up to an extent. I don't think $40 is unheard of but I could be wrong
-
Oh yeah? What label?
All the info so far can be found here.
Fantastic, thanks!

Does anyone have this? http://www.punknews.org/article/19563
I remember it was being released and I missed it. It seemed a little odd, but I'm a little crazy for the things Dan Yemin touches. Would you be interested in selling or trading for it?
On that note, does anyone have any Paint it Black, Kid Dynamite or Lifetime LPs they'd be willing to part with?
This is what I have:
V/A - "I Stand Alone #05" (Elliot / Kid Dynamite / Sunday Evening Dinner Club)
Kid Dynamite / 88 Fingers Louie - "Split" (Clear Red)
Kid Dynamite - "S/T" - Jade Tree: JT1039
Kid Dynamite - "Shorter, Faster, Louder" - Jade Tree JT1045 (Teal)
Kid Dynamite - "Shorter, Faster, Louder" - Jade Tree: JT1045
V/A - "The Philadelphia Sound" (Clear/ The Curse, Go! For the Throat, Knives Out, Paint It Black)
Paint It Black - "CVA" - Jade Tree JT1080 (Clear Blue)
Paint It Black - "Paradise" - Jade Tree JT1103 (Clear Green)
Lifetime - "2 Songs" - Decaydance
Lifetime - "The Boy's No Good" (Clear Red)
Lifetime - "Background" - New Age Records
Lifetime - "Hello Bastards" - Jade Tree JT1021
Lifetime - "Jersey's Best Dancers" - Jade Tree JT1034 (Clear Dark Red)
Skinned Knees got canned - I had a preorder for it and the place kept saying it got pushed back so I emailed the label and they said it got killed due to scaling back their operation.
Ditto. Got an official e-mail about it eventually.
I've got a red Lifetime LP if you're interested

I guess that would explain it since I don't buy much from them

None of my Deathwish orders ever had a stenciled mailer. Bummer.
-
Heavens-Patent Pending is going to be released on vinyl. I'm kind of excited for that.
Oh yeah? What label?

The Bronx's first album was released on vinyl, but I think it was through their White Drugs label, not through Ferret proper.
The first Bronx LP was on Tarantulas Records. That label is/was so cool. They would spray paint the record mailers with a tarantula stencil. Definitely the only record mailer I ever kept

I really like what Lifeline did, I think it's fair for everyone. And I'm EXTREMELY jealous of whoever it was on this board that won a copy of that 7". Congrats!
Hey. This is my first post as a logged in user but I was the dude who won the 7". I loved the raffle. Lifeline presses records at a loss and I had no problem paying for a raffle for the limited to 50 MLIW 7". It brought some extra scratch to the label and in the end I won a rad and super rad record.
That being said I think board members should get first crack. Or how about newest board members getting first crack....
I don't know why I'm so curious about this, but I am. Did Lifeline just include the single with your order and that's how you knew you won? Or did they contact you separately and/or ship it separately?

I spend between $300 - $500 a month on vinyl and I've done so for years. I'm trying to cut back now that I have a mortgage. Easier said than done.
-
First and foremost, keep in mind that they may end up on eBay anyways. So if you feel like you should be making money off of them if anybody should, then just sell them and put it towards future releases.
If you don't care, I say include them with the pre-orders but completely at random.
Lifeline Records did a neat thing where they allowed anyone who pre-ordered a certain LP to buy a raffle ticket for $1 for a shot at winning a limited edition pressing of a 7". That way only the people that care to win are entered, they can buy as many tickets as they want, and you can potentially make a nice chunk of change yourself. I'm guessing you'd hit three figures easily. Although pre-orders already started so I suppose people could feel slighted if they find out about it until later.
I really like what Lifeline did, I think it's fair for everyone. And I'm EXTREMELY jealous of whoever it was on this board that won a copy of that 7". Congrats!

The regular blue is rather dark and translucent.
The baby blue is sky blue and opaque (like Jawbreaker's Dear You or Nirvana's Incesticide)
Very easy to tell the difference
-
It does indeed come with a code for a download of the tracks, not to mention it includes 5 bonus tracks. I think it's safe to say it comes with all copies of the vinyl, so get on it. You are missing out like you wouldn't believe. The new LP has a little more variation in styles from song to song than the last two albums. But you need to own it as well as Shake the Sheets, Hearts of Oak, and The Tyranny of Distance. And seeing him live is ten times better. The motherfucking man, indeed!!
-
preorder on www.smartpunk.com and get a 7" Thrash Unreal promo. F*cking $13 for the vinyl and $9 to ship, but you get the 7"...... I don't know if its worth it.
Well worth it, thanks!

I offered to fund some releases in the '90s to no avail. The bands and their labels just weren't interested. Both the internet and the vinyl market were very different places back then, so I'm sure I wasn't taken very seriously. At least now there's a Virgil who has got the experience and infrastructure to make it a slight possibility.
-
Virgil has made the comment that the number of titles he'd like to put on vinyl far exceed the number he can afford to do. He's also mentioned that he's kicked around the idea of getting investors in some capacity. So I don't this guy is trying to push anything on him.
I think it's a great idea in theory, especially rewarding the pre-order/investors with their own color of the record. But I think it's very unlikely that there'd be enough pre-order interest to make it financially viable.
-
I call them 45s.
-
OK, just so we're all clear, their called records, not vinyl. Here's some examples.
Correct: "I collect vinyl. I have about 500 records."
Incorrect: "I'm going to the record store today to buy some vinyl."
That is about the stupidest sounding thing I've ever heard.
Big talk from someone who uses "their" instead of "they're"
(Just busting your chops, couldn't pass it up )
What do you regret not purchasing?

Agreed, I didn't it sounded nearly as bad as people made it out to be and I consider myself a fairly critical listener. Of course, I just got some new equipment and my needle realigned by a professional so everything has been sounding remarkable lately. It's unbelievable what a difference that made.
