  1. Alright guys. First "major" problem I've had ordering records (or anything) online.  Preordered Jayke Orvis - Bless This Mess on black marbled vinyl back on May 24th, 2013 from the label Farmageddon Records.  It was due to come out that month. It was pushed back to July, then pushed back again with no definitive release date (delays at the pressing plant supposedly). So I bided the time and waited it out with an email here or there to check on status.

Well, come January 21st, 2014, they FINALLY got the albums in and shipped them out.  I got no tracking number or confirmation of shipment email.  Waited a week to see if it would show up and started emailing.  First response was that it was shipped out and I should see it soon. Never showed.  Been emailing back and forth and only got a "I'm checking into it" email.  Have not been able to get any responses for a week now, and am getting concerned I'm going to get stiffed on the record and lose out on the money ($30 + shipping).  Obviously it's too late for a paypal dispute. I've been trying to talk to paypal and get them to make an exception to no avail thus far.  I've tried posting on the label's and band's facebook pages, but haven't gotten any response yet.

Any ideas what my next move should be?  I appreciate ANY help you guys could offer up.

As it sits now, I would stay far away from these guys.

  2. I'm surprised you have a tough time finding a decent copy of Animals. My local stores nearly always have copies of that record hanging around. I too would love to find a copy of Piper though. I suppose you could always settle for purchasing A Nice Pair which includes both Piper and A Saucerful of Secrets - it's cheaper and seems to be easier to find.

Maybe my expectations are too high.  I can find copies going for 30-40 bucks with a nice non worn to hell sleeve, but I would like to find a <$20 copy.  I wouldn't expect that to be too unreasonable. There have got to be tons of that album floating around. Hell, I'm not even looking for a original press or anything.

  3. I'm interested to see if this will end up like the Pink Floud reissue campaign, with only 3 albums receiving vinyl reissues.

That still pisses me off to no end.  They remaster the 3 easiest to find albums and leave the rest of the catalog stagnant. I'd kill to find a nice, reasonably priced copy of Animals or Piper at the Gates of Dawn.

I'm stoked about the Zeppelin reissues though. And like most others, hope they put them out on vinyl.

  4. Chaperone Records has a new Charlie Parr album listed for preorder.  20 bucks for the vinyl, or they are offering vinyl + poster or shirt for more.

They also just put out two variants.  One for King Earl and one for Rooster.  Looks like King Earl (out of 25) is gone already, but Rooster (out of 20) is still up as of this posting. 30 bucks.

They also have several other similarly limited variants from other groups.

    Hope this helps out someone!

  5. It also says it only counts for non "sale" items, but gohastings seems to list most items as "sale" because they are below retail price. So are most things excluded?

Also, has anyone here had good luck with them? I read bad things about them all over the web, especially their shipping methods.

I've had two orders in with them. First order was 3 LPs that were thrown into a giant box that was flatten. The edge ripped and they were hanging out the side. Sleeves bent to hell. They reshipped in another large (but not flattened box). Results were slightly better.

Second order was a single double LP shipped in a mailer.  Packaged perfectly.
