i'm looking to pick up:
Black Crowes - Warpaint (140g white vinyl 3xLP)
The Civil Wars - Live at Eddie's Attic (LP, 4500 copies)
Conor Oberst - "Hundreds of Ways" / "Fast Friends" (7-inch)
Conor Oberst/Dawes - "Million Dollar Bill"/"Easy/Lucky/Free" (split 7-inch)
I haven't gone through this thread entirely, but I'll go through and try to remember what some of you want! Is there any failsafe so multiple copies won't be purchased?
The Black Crowes release is available on Amazon...

I keep hoping to hear more about this. :/
-
Anybody hear this yet? Amazon has it for 13.99 now. Couldn't pass up at that price.
-
Don't think mine will be too bad.
MUST have:
Animals 10"
Soundgarden - Superunknown singles
Would like:
Husker Du - Candy Apple Grey
Doors - Weird Scenes

-
Looks like Amazon pulled the Superunknown single set listing.

Elusivedisc claims September 23rd, 2014.

I used the SG presale code on ticketmaster and after about 30 tries of pulling up crap seats I had a pair of 4th row centers in my cart. I usually do the NIN presales but this time I went with the SG one because I'm not 100% sure I'll still be around Detroit this summer. So I was hoping ticketmaster would do physical tix but at least for the SG presale today it was also will call only. So I ended up letting the row 4s go and I'll try again later in the week for regular hard tix.
That is exactly what I ran into.

Dayum! What city! I've always done really good with nin.com presales. REALLY good, like first 5 rows type shit, had technical difficulties on their site with the captchas, ended up with mediocre tickets for Detroit. I'm a victim of expectations I suppose.
Tinley Park. It was odd though. Got on right at noon and immediately showed lawn. Kept refreshing trying to get better tickets. Got upper pavilion several times. Back to lawn. Just kept trying. Was about to give up when I saw front row center stage pop. Still can't hardly believe it.

I paid about $50 for a NM Euro copy of the OG just a couple of years ago. So yeah, this price is insanity. I'll hold off, though I certainly understand the dilemma many of you are in. If you think this is rapey, just wait til you see the prices for those NIN/Soundgarden tickets...
Thumbs up to you for bringing up the tour. I hadn't heard about it. Saw this post a couple hours ago...got the presale code and ordered tickets an hour later. Ended up with tickets front row center stage. Hurt my wallet, but psyched.

Haha, I just stumbled upon the CD preorder on Amazon. Rest assured it is not much less rapey. $30.51 for 2 discs. Insanity.

Pretty sure he is saying that is exactly what he ISN'T going to let happen with these releases.

I take In Utero as a whole different project, the label brought Albini back to the board, gave him control along with Krist & Grohl and you know you'd be getting something special and genuine from that. It was actually used as a sale argument by the label. If they charged whatever more (and they did), at least there was a reason behind, although one can argue if the final price was fair even though.
But all those recent MOV reissues (FNM, STP, Temple Of The Dog), on the other hand, were pushed out of reasonability pricewise... They are clearly profiting on recordings from an era when vinyl wasn't priority and became rarities during today's renaissance. Consider buyers in their 30~40 y.o. with regular income and aware that original pressings are rare to come across and usually object of eBay pricing, a reissue sounds interesting. But MOV and major labels don't mention what kind of remastering work was put onto those reissues, neither the bands seem active during the process, which totally put those releases into question.
The MOV guys are completely forthright with how the recordings were sourced. Drop them a line through their website. They have always gotten back to me.

This is going to be expensive.
What's the deal w/ Amazon listing 8 discs for the super deluxe sets?
-
They used to ship in frustration free packaging, but the last few records I ordered came in the folded cardboard thing that leaves it exposed on three sides. If your ordering a few records at a time, your probably fine. The orders I placed with single lps came with pretty bad seam splits & banged up corners, but it might just be my areas USPS that doesn't take good care of their packages.
Got my order yesterday. Just ordered NIN - The Slip. Came packaged the same way. 3-4" seam split on the spine.
-
Could not be more excited about this.
-
I know this is against what this thread has become, but looks like they have NIN - The Slip in stock again....at 13.99. Best price I've ever come across for it.
-
Well, looks like Three Snakes isn't shipping either. My order status still says estimated for delivery tomorrow, but not yet shipped. The product page says sign up to be notified when this product is available.
-
Well, so far looks like Three Snakes One Charm might actually ship. Still showing a 3/11 release on Amazon. The other three albums have been pulled though...
-
Woah. There is a preorder on Amazon for what appears to be the RSD pressing of Black Crowes - Warpaint on Amazon...Shows a release date of April 19th, 2014. Here comes the best part... $101.99. Or you can opt for the 2008 pressing for $19.

RUMORED RELEASE
- There will be a Led Zepplin release for Record Store Day this year, I am just awaiting details on what it will be.
Excited about a Zeppelin release, but not that it is RSD. Only thing I can come up with that would make sense is BBC Sessions...Which is the only thing I don't have.
-
If you preorder from Amazon and the price drops, do they refund you the difference? How does that work?
They don't charge until it ships.

They (kind of) made it up to me. Ended up sending a copy of a less rare variant, that cost 5 bucks less, plus a "free" cd. At least the money wasn't completely lost.
