  1. Both out now: Turkish Techno – Past Due LP I’m not going to lie. I have given up hope on this record (as a lot of people have) too many times to mention. But somehow it’s finally out! If any of you have any old Razorcake’s lying around, I’d like for you to take a moment and look back at the old Dirt Cult ads in issues for the past two and a half years. I bet you’ll find ads for a Turkish Techno 7” that never happened (we’ll okay we did do a very limited 2x7” version of those songs) and then ads for an LP that was “coming soon.” Soon is relative I suppose… Turkish Techno are a wonderful trainwreck of a band from Riverside, CA. It’s truly amazing that they are even still together. Every time I’ve seen these guys one of them is injured, and one of them is black out drunk, and one of them is about to fight someone. But somehow they’ve always managed to get up there and tear the roof off of the room. Wait, I haven’t seen a single word about the music. Um, do you like Tiltwheel? Do you like Dillinger Four? Of course you do! You’ve going to love this record. First 25 orders or so on pink vinyl. The rest at on orange. Split release between Dirt Cult, Muy Autentico, and Wolfdog! Shit Creek – Scene Cred is Our Name 7” This is the first time in history I didn’t even have to hear the band before I agreed to put out their record. Granted I was black out drunk at Chaos in Tejas and I sometimes make bad decisions, but this certainly wasn’t one of them. Shit Creek is Brandon from Dude Jams, Ben Snakepit from Shanghai River, Dugg from Wild America, and Jeff from Capitalist Kids….name drop! So here you’ve got some songs from Bandon that sound like a bit more complex versions of Dude Jams songs and some songs from Ben that sound like…Cock Sparrer? Yeah, this is great! 330 on black vinyl. www.dirtcultrecords.com
  2. Finally got the 12" inserts and all orders have shipped. Thanks for your patience if you ordered! Turkish Techno LPs will be available Monday night. If your going to Awesome Fest, I'll have 30 copies of the Shang-A-Lang/Rumspringer slpit 7" with limited covers. The real version won't be out for a few weeks...
  3. Ok, just got done talking with Kyle. We're still waiting on inserts. This will be available at Awesome Fest. The official release date will be September 5th (the day it goes up on my site).
  4. It's not out because they are lagging on the inserts and Kyle hasn't sent me the vinyl. I think he's super wrapped up in Awesome Fest planning. Hopefully I'll get them when I'm in San Diego. The wait is killing me!
  5. Thanks! Should be out in a few weeks, hopefully in time for Awesome Fest. Regarding Fest, I dunno. It's just not something we've really pursued the last few years. We've been doing Awesome Fest and they are pretty close together (it's really difficult for one of our members to ask off weekends lately so we have to be picky). I'd really like to make it back out that way. It's been a few years since we've played the east coast.
  6. It's been a while since I've been on this message board...trying to taper my internet time. At any rate, I've got several new releases out that some of you might be interested in: DEFECT DEFECT/DAYLIGHT ROBBERY/FOREIGN OBJECTS - One Sided 12"Okay, okay, so these records aren't technically out yet, but they should be shipping by late August, before I leave for Awesome Fest. Literally, years in the making, this amazing record is finally seeing the light of day! This one-sided 12" featurs two songs each of my three favorite bands in punk rock today. Defect Defect has been around for ages, but really hit their stride with their debut full length released last year by Residue Records. Old school punk featuring members of all your favorite PDX punk bands like The Observers, Austistic Youth, The Minds, etc. As an added bonus, this record features my all time favorite song by the band, People My Age. Daylight Robbery is a great Chicago band that sounds like a modern day X (Los Angeles) without the blues. Foreign Objects should be farmiliar to those of you who have picked up past Dirt Cult Releases. Female fronted punk rock, like Kathlene Hannah fronting Black Flag. LIBYANS/GOD EQUALS GENOCIDE - Split 7"This is the long awaited split 7" that should have been completed years ago. The A side contains three new songs by Los Angeles trio God Equals Genocide. After a handful of 7"s and splits on Razorcake and Dirt Cult Records GEG returns with their strongest batch of songs. This recording is their most polished to date, but doesn'ft lack the same buzzy guitars and overdriven vocals that you've come to love from these three. On the flip side Boston band, Libyans come back with their most recent effort since their full length LP on Sorry State Records. They bring three new songs, blurring the lines between early US hardcore and melodic punk ala Dangerhouse Records. This is honestly their best batch of songs to date in my opinion and I;ve loved ever single release they've done. This record is released in an edition of 500 7's, all pressed on black vinyl and housed in a glue pocket with each bands lyrics printed on the records inner sleeve. Split release with Shock to the System Records. Punk fucking rock! BRICKFIGHT - HARVESTER OF NACHOS tapeAll of Brickfight's proper releases in one convenient package with some amazing cover art. Professionally printed tapes that come with a download code so you can listen to it on your IPod. In other news, all this stuff is coming very soon: TURKISH TECHNO - PAST DUE LP (end of August) SHANG-A-LANG/RUMSPRINGER - Split 7" (early September) SHIT CREEK - Scene Cred is Our Name 7" (early September) PEER PRECIOUS - Bless this Mess LP (late September) CROW BAIT - Three Tickle Guys 7" (late September)
  7. Record's streaming on Punk News today http://www.punknews.org/bands/thecredentials
  8. Shipping May 10th but up on the site now! The Credentials sound like they’d be at home in the early nineties bay area punk scene. They play fast, scrappy, “pop punk” with a lot more emphasis on punk than pop. This is a great LP and it looks amazing too! It’s on 180 gram vinyl and comes with a 20 page zine. This is easily the most elaborate record we’ve put out to date. Split release with It’s Alive, Muy Autentico, 86’d, and the band! www.dirtcultrecords.com
  9. Thanks so much! I'm glad we can do something! This tragedy hits home for a lot of reasons. Myself, the band, and all the labels involved have a lot of good friends in Japan. Plus my band was supposed to leave for a Japanese tour 3 days after the earthquake struck. And contrary to the fact that the news is no longer bombarding us with images, thousands upon thousands of people are still displaced (and will be for a long time). Its so fucking sad.
  10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270735550397#ht_500wt_1156 Test pressing of the new Dan Padilla LP on Dirt Cult/Its Alive/Razorcake. Proceeds will benefit the Japanese Red Cross and the band has offered to match whatever the record sells for. Awesome! (FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE!)
  11. I've got five more copies on orange vinyl left. If you want one order soon.
  12. www.itsaliverecords.com as well... Adam hasn't even put these up for some reason...
  13. No dude thank you! I've still got a few oranges left but these shits are selling fast.
  14. Fucking finally! This record has been available in digital format for what seems like forever, but it's finally seeing a proper release. The Ox Plows features 12 songs of amazing, gruff but cuddly, honest punk rock from these San Diego veterans. Featuring members of Tiltwheel, Altaira, Bloodbath and Beyond, and Madison Bloodbath. First 25 orders (from Dirt Cult...not sure how the other labels are handling the colors) are on orange vinyl. Split release between Dirt Cult, It's Alive, and Razorcake www.dirtcultrecords.com www.itsaliverecords.com www.razorcake.org
  15. Alright, so the Foreign Objects – A Kind of Lie b/w The Key 7″ covers FINALLY arrived today along with covers for the Shang-A-Lang/Broken Mountain – Split 7″ and The Scrams – Zodac b/w Eat the Beat 7″! Additionally, the Shang-A-Lang Broken Mountain and The Scrams records will ship from the plant tomorrow and should be here early next week. Since I’m excited to get these records out, I’m offering a preorder special on all three records: order them all and save $3. The package is under “specials” in the store. This offer will be up until the records ship on February 17th. If you just want the Foreign Objects record, it’s up in the store and is ready to ship. Here’s some info on all three releases: FOREIGN OBJECTS – 7″ Boston band featuring former / current members of Libyans, Conversions and Ampere. The music is simple, catchy and to the point punk in the Dangerhouse tradition, but the vocals are what really sell this… incredibly unique and powerful, like Kathleen Hannah if she were really into Chavo-era Black Flag. SHANG-A-LANG/BROKEN MOUNTAIN – SPLIT 7″ Shang-A-Lang scrap the 4-track tape recorder for a digital 8-track and lay down 4 tracks of possibly their best shit ever. Bare-bones DIY punk rock! Broken Mountain from Japan somehow remind me of Rancid, Hot Snakes, and Reigning Sound all at the same time. How do they do that? Both bands will be touring Japan together in March of 2011! THE SCRAMS – 7″ Budget rock from Albuquerque featuring Nate from GIANT HAYSTACKS! Really fun stuff! www.dirtcultrecords.com
  16. Should be out next week... FOREIGN OBJECTS - A KIND OF LIE B/W THE KEY 7" Boston band featuring former/current members of Libyans, Conversions and Ampere. The music is simple, catchy and to the point punk in the Dangerhouse tradition, but the vocals are what really sell this... incredibly unique and powerful, like Kathleen Hannah from Bikini Kill if she were really into Chavo-era Black Flag. I've been really excited about putting out this record, and it's FINALLY coming together! www.dirtcultrecords.com
  17. No Idea, Kiss Of Death, Traffic Street, No Breaks, Dirt Cult, ADD, Dead Broke, It's Alive, All In Vinyl, Banquet are all amazing - never had a problem at all Thanks Alan!
  18. I think the idea of this record is pretty cool, but bolded part of your statement is weird to me. I love records and I love music, but I don't just buy records because they are records. I buy records because I like the music. So, yeah, music wins.

  21. Out now! Earthmen and Strangers/Far Corners - Split 7" Earthmen and Strangers: features Ryan Rousseau from The Reatards, The Wongs, Destruction Unit, Tokyo Electron and probably about a million other amazing bands. Based in Phoenix, AZ, somehow everything they’ve done reminds me of driving down a two lane highway in the middle of the desert; desolate and creepy post-punk at it’s finest. Far Corners: I first met Justin and Tara in a dive bar in Las Cruces, NM after they somewhat randomly moved here from Boston via Memphis. For a while they played local shows with a new bassist under their old bands moniker,Turpentine Brothers, but eventually decided to change their name. Far Corners is lo-fi, blow-out post punk that gets my blood pumping. Record is limited to 300 on black vinyl, as well as 54 limited edition test pressings! www.dirtcultrecords.com/store
