  1. Big Dick - Disappointment LP "out" Feb 24th, but since I already have the records I've decided to go ahead and post it on the website. Big Dick return with their second LP! The band is due featuring drums, bass, and dueling vocals from Ottawa, Canada. Named after a NOMEANSNO song, Big Dick has cultivated a sound that borders on progressive punk and post-hardcore, while also gravitating towards both the melodic and absurdly heavy. This is a band equally at ease with their penchant for 90's ear Canadian indie rock as they are with the punk, hardcore, and noise rock bands of the last three decades - the result being a memorable listening experience that breaks down traditional sub-genre party lines. Dissapointment serves as an anthemic celebration of failure and inquietute for fans of Death from Above, Japandroids, and more Stream: punknews Order (limited to 100 on blue vinyl): dirtcultrecords
  2. But with that said, I'm stocking up on popcorn for when people try to sell them for "test pressing" prices on Ebay. Mike Dumps can be pretty mean and I'm his biggest cheerleader.
  3. This shit is funny. They are totally test pressings. We ordered 100 tests, taking a gamble that they would sound good. We got them Friday and approved them today...because they do.
  4. Sorry! I was out of town. But yeah, this would be included in that subscription deal for sure.
  5. A ton of preoders just went up. These all should be shipping by late November, but there may be pressing plant delays which push this into December. Iron Chic/Low Culture - Split 7" Having toured together on the East Coast/Canada as well as the Southwestern desert, the Iron Chic and Low Culture decided that the next logical step would be to release a split 7" - and not just a split 7", but a split label/split 7" between Mike from Iron Chic's Dead Broke Records and Chris from Low Culture's Dirt Cult Records. Iron Chic - Fucking fantastic existential, anthemic, and melodic punk rock. I don't really feel the need to say much more. You know who these guys are. This is their first release since their well received, Bridge Nine released "The Constant One" LP last year. Ex-members of Latterman, Small Arms Dealer & more. One of these songs is a B-side from "The Constant One" too. Low Culture - After releasing their debut LP "Screens" in 2013 on Dirtnap Records, the band has seen members fan out all over the place (including Santa Fe, El Paso, and Portland). But there's no plans of slowing down (too much). Features members of Shang-A-Lang and Marked Men, and sounds pretty much like a cross between the 2 bands, with the former’s distinct songwriting style mashed together with the latter’s tighter, cleaner performances. These recordings are the results of the band’s first trip into a “pro” recording studio, sounding cleaner but no less effective than past material. There are 4 colors of this record (orange - Dirt Cult Edition, blue - Dead Broke edition, green, and black). Each label has a limited number of the other's exclusive color. Order from Dirt Cult at www.dirtcultrecords.com Order from Dead Broke at www.deadbrokerecords.com Stream a song from each band at http://noisey.vice.com/blog/iron-chic-low-cultures-split-ep-stream Crow Bait - Separate Stations 7" Hot of the heels of their debut LP entitled "Sliding Through the Halls of Fate" on Don Giovanni Records, Crow Bait returns. The band is from New York featuring three guys that you probably know from past and current projects such as Sister Kisser, and Iron Chic. But if you're checking this out on the basis of the band members' past and current projects, expecting to hear another "Not Like This" or "Vipers" - two very good records for the record - prepare to be left scratching your head. Crow Bait, while clearly looking forward, is also clearly trying to create something that resembles the music they grew up on - Goo Goo Dolls, Buffalo Tom, The Replacements, etc. And they do a damn good job. If you're like me, and you never change the dial when a good 90's alt-rock song comes on the radio, this record is right up your alley. 100 on yellow. 400 on black. Order from Dirt Cult at www.dirtcultrecords.com Order from Drunken Sailor at www.drunkensailorrecords.co.uk Stream a song at http://noisey.vice.com/blog/crow-bait-separate-stations-song-premiere Hysterese - Hysterese LP A little bit hardcore - a little bit garage, Hysterese is from from Tübingen, Germany and they play dark, melodic, and powerful punk rock. I've been struggling with a point of reference on this one (they have a pretty unique sound!). So lets go with The Soviettes and Marked Men getting together to form a hardcore band. Yeah...that works. Order from Dirt Cult at www.dirtcultrecords.com Stream the record at https://dirtcultrecords.bandcamp.com/album/hysterese Catholic Guilt - Catholic Guilt 12" Catholic Guilt are from Austria, and they play dark, dense, and discordant hardcore punk that fans of classic 80's hardcore like Poison Idea, Die Kreuzen, and Articles of Faith as well as more recent bands like Sickoids. An all around great record, that we're eager to share with you. Order from Dirt Cult at www.dirtcultrecords.com Stream the record at https://dirtcultrecords.bandcamp.com/album/catholic-guilt
  6. FERAL TRASH - TRASHFICTION LP A simple 3-piece from the small eastern (often overlooked) city Of Moncton NB, Feral Trash play cold, anxiety ridden songs about the shitty world they see around them. Formed over a winter of Nyquil, hash and too many Wipers records, guitarist Eric Neurotic (Fear of Lipstick, Varsity Weirdos) sought out members of the darkest band in town (Thalidomy Kids) and recruited them to start something new. After releasing their surprisingly well received Dead Eyes EP in 2013 (well received by their standards), Feral Trash took the next logical step and went to the studio to record their debut album Trashfiction. FFO: Masshysteri, The Vicion, Vann Inget, Allvaret, The Creeps, etc. Order color vinyl here (limited to 100) Order black vinyl here (limited to 200) Stream at PunkNews Stream/purchase on Bandcamp Purchase on Itunes If all goes well at the plant, records should ship by the end of October.
  7. Oh man, wait till you hear this new Big Dick record!
  8. That's a bummer. Oh well...I suppose all I can say is talk to pretty much anyone I've ever dealt with - I'm not in the business of burning people.
  9. Hey Everyone, I've been toying with this idea for some time now, and I've finally decided to give it a go, in hope that some of you will be into it. So here's the deal: For just $100 (basically you're paying wholesale prices on all releases) you will receive of the next ten full lengths on 12" vinyl (or two 7"s - which equal one full length). So it could be five full lengths and ten 7"s or eight full lengths and four 7"s, and so on. Make sense? Oh and if there is a limited color version of the record (which there is 9 times out of 10), you're receive that version! To make this cost effective, records will be shipping once every 3 months (so basically we'll send you any new releases every March, June, September, and December). Also, anyone who subscribes can hit me up at [email protected] to fill any gaps (that we still have in print) in our back catalog. You can also request specific upcoming releases. Oh and with every shipment, we'll throw in some cool free stuff like distro records, posters, CDs, etc. We've been releasing records since 2006. In 2013 we released 14 records and in 2014 we're poised to hit 13. We're not going anywhere anytime soon, and with your subscription you'll be helping with the sustainability of the label. Some upcoming releases include records from: Iron Chic, Low Culture, Feral Trash, Hysterese, Catholic Guilt, Big Dick, Blank Pages, Earth Girls, Der Faden (Rob from Statues), Sweatshop Boys, Crow Bait, and more... Check it out here PLEASE NOTE: International prices (payable to [email protected]) CANADA/MEX: $140 EVERYWHERE ELSE: $175 Thanks for the support!
  10. Originally released on Erste Theke Tonträger in Germany, this is the US press (complete with new art) for the band's US tour. 330 pressed on black (along with 75 test pressings that were available - and quickly sold out - on their US tour). Swedish outfit Allvaret emerged from a fertile musical background to deliver some totally off the hook KBD punk with tunes that will stick in your head after just one spin. The guitar sounds so Scandinavian - Masshysteri and The Vicious say Hello. The driving rhythm section, with the harmonic drum and bass parts, reminds of some kind of early UK street punk, without sounding stupidly Oi! But the most important part is the awesome voice of Sushila, with perfectly matching Swedish lyrics to top things off and emphasize the band's own character. Members of Vånna Inget. 11. Typo in the thread name. Oops...you know what I mean...
  12. Dirt Cult and One Percent Press just released a new Unwelcome Guests LP and it's their best yet! Here's some info: UNWELCOME GUESTS – WAVERING LP Mixing the raw energy and heartfelt lyrics in the vein of Husker Du and catchy vocal melodies that are akin to those found on a Springsteen album, The Unwelcome Guests rock through songs leaving the listeners begging for more and the songs are sung with heartfelt conviction. From the poppy drunken sing-along style, to the slow heartbreak songs, to the country tinged mid-paced rockers. 500 on black with download code. Get it here Stream it here
  13. Canadian Rifle track streaming http://thepunksite.com/news/stream-canadian-rifle-pleasant-relief/
  14. While technically a "pre-order" since this isn't supposed to be out until November 26th, the records are sitting in my house and I will ship them right away if ordered direct from me. CANADIAN RIFLE - DEEP ENDS LP Deep Ends is the second LP from Canadian Rifle, arguably Chicago’s best melodic hardcore band. The band plays confessional punk with brash vocals (reminiscent of Leatherface and early Jawebreaker) with themes that range from crossing lines when you know you shouldn’t, trying to keep something alive when you’re running on empty, as well as struggles with addiction. Needless to say, it’s pretty bleak in its lyrical and musical approach, but played with an angered energy that’ll keep you fist pumping for the duration. Pretty fucking great for a band with no dreams and no goals. 112 of these are on tie-dyed vinyl via mailorder only. Comes with a download code. Tie-dyed vinyl: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/...tie-dyed-vinyl Black vinyl: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/...ifle-deep-ends Oh and I don't think I ever posted about these records here: FREE MACHINES - CURSVIE MOON 7" If you’re anything like me, all you need to know about this release is that Free Machines features the long-awaited return of ex-Swing Ding Amigos co-frontman Jimmy to recording and banding. But if running a label has taught me anything, most people are not like me. So I’ll write a bit more. Free Machines hail from Tucson, were majority of the best southwestern punk bands of the last 15 years have come from (This is not up for debate. Swing Ding Amigos, Shark Pants, Weird Lovemakers, The Blacks, Lenguas Largas, Knockout Pills, and so on. No one can fuck with that). Imagine Swing Ding Amigos slowed down a bit and with a whole lot more Greg Cartwright swagger. Punks aging gracefully. Comes with a download code Available here: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/...cursive-moon-7 VVHILE - VVHILE IS VANITY 7" I was turned on to VVHILE about a year ago by my friend Flo (Trapdoor Tourz/Cut the Chord That…Records) and this record has been in the works ever since. Originally released on Twin Toe Records out of Germany (in an extremely limited quantity and with a different design), Dirt Cult is hoping that this pressing will serve as an introduction to a bit larger audience. Hailing from Serbia, VVHILE began as a simple punk duo, playing Wipers like riffs, but soon started gravitating towards more experimental and noisy sounds.VVHILE deserves your attention whether you’re a fan of the swirling psychedelic shoegaze of My Bloody Valentine or the angular punk of Hot Snakes. At times the duo sounds like a 10-piece (and this isn’t just studio trickery. The live footage I’ve seen sounds about the same). This release looks and sounds different than anything Dirt Cult has ever released. We’ve pressed 500 copies all on clear Vinyl with an embossed record jacket and beautiful insert. Comes with a download code. Available here (but not shipping until middle of next week): http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/...le-is-vanity-7 Oh and if you plan on getting both the FREE MACHINES and VVHILE records, you can get them both here for a bit cheaper: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/...-vvhile-7-pack

  16. Stream New Swears here: http://dirtcultrecords.bandcamp.com/album/funny-isnt-real
  17. Two new releases are out on Dirt Cult and shipping now! NEW SWEARS – FUNNY ISN’T REAL LP Imagine Mean Jeans partying with the Black Lips. Jangly garage punk from these Ottawa party animals. The perfect soundtrack to getting drunk and jumping off the roof of a two story house into the shallow end and having to be carted off to the emergency room for a couple broken bones. 100 available on opaque red vinyl. Red: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/products/1964204-new-swears-funny-isnt-real-lp-color Black: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/products/1964170-new-swears-funny-isnt-real-lp FERAL TRASH - DEAD EYES 7″ Canada is on fire (I mean that in the best possible way). And this debut 7″ is just another great example of the amazing things that seem to be coming out of that country every time I turn around. But frankly, while this band comes from a fairly small town near Nova Scotia, I don’t think listeners would be surprised if they guessed they were from Texas, as they seem to have really captured that nervous and haunting garage rock sound that bands like Occult Detective Club and Hex Dispensers have perfected over the years. Featuring Eric Neurotic from Fear of Lipstick (It’s Alive/P. Trash Records). 330 on black vinyl. Buy: http://dirtcultrecords.storenvy.com/products/1964294-feral-trash-dead-eyes-7 Also, I've only got two copies of Daylight Robbery - Distant Shores 7" available and am down to about 30 copies of Rumpsringer - Stay Alfloat LP first press in case you've be slacking.
  18. Daylight Robbery and Brain Attack up for full stream/download on the bandcamp page. Rumspringer will be streaming on Punk News later this afternoon. www.dirtcultrecords.bandcamp.com
  19. Welp, Rainbo emailed today saying that the Rumspringer LPs have not gone into production on schedule. Looks like they won't be shipping out to me until around June 24th, which means I'll probably be shipping out preorders at the end of June/begining of July. Sorry for the delay but it's out of my hands. The record will still be available digitally on June 18th, and of course, I'm sending out downloads as people preorder. For those that have ordered, I hope you're enjoying the songs.

  22. Glad you like it. I've been listening to it consistently (daily) for the past 4 months. Still not sick of it.
