How does two covers work? Are two sold separately, randomly, and are colored records usually with one of them or randomly distributed?
-
Keep checking your Discogs wish list frequently. I saw a Space Project box for $40 last night.
-

Why don't they have a Third Man Records store in Detroit? They totally should.
-
If anyone could hook me up with The Space Project 7" box or 12" LP, I'd be thrilled.
-
Man I can't believe I missed out on the Space Project. Really bummed.

Anyone know what the mystery side by side is this year?

Art below, be aware the 7 inches are old school with the big centre hole - you will need a 7 inch 45 record insert (around 2 bucks online)
Awesome, thanks for the picture! Looks beautiful, definitely getting the 7" now.
-
How is the artwork in the Space Project box? Worth it instead of the 12"?

It may not have been the rarest release but I was psyched that a local store held a copy of the live Tame Impala LP for me! I was also able to find the Jeffrey Lee Pierce Sessions 7" (w/ Ty Segall + John Dwyer) on a european website and placed an order. Pretty pleased to have snagged my two most sought after items without an early wakeup (even if it cost me a ghostbusters 10").
Here's a pic of the Tame Impala 12" if anyone's interested, I hadn't seen any description mentioning that it was colored so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up:
Awesome that it's colored! Excited.
Got to Dearborn Music a half hour ago and there was already like 10 people in line. First guy is getting the only Cake boxset so I'm heading home now ha.
Oh man, hopefully UHF isn't too bad.
-
Should I get the 12" or 7" box for The Space Project? 12" is easier to play and cheaper, but the box looks like it will have some cool artwork.
-
Do most stores have the releases behind the counter so you ask for them, or are they out in the open so many people are looking at the same time?

Quite excited for the Jurassic Park release. It is in my top 5 films of all time, and I've always loved the soundtrack, so it'll be nice to finally have it on (hopefully amber!) vinyl. I just cant see myself paying $100+ for a picture disc of this album, which is the only one out there AFAIK.
This will be my first Mondo purchase, so I'm interested to see how it goes. I hope it doesn't sell out quickly because I know I'll have bad luck being in school or work at the time it goes up for sale. It is a bit discomforting knowing that a ton of people will order multiple copies just to flip them at a higher price later on.

Wouldnt the mosquito on the label look kind of out of place on black versions. Id like to see them do a full run of color vinyl with a different color variant. No black at all.
Have they ever done something like this?
-
Yeah, Coldplay's site claims this too: http://coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=1456

Also got a confirmation for my cassette.

Where are your seats for the Fox show? Just wondering what seats they had available.
I got section F4 Row A seats 405/406. I don't think they had those orchestra pit seats for sale because I got in right away.
-
So, who scored tickets? I got great seats to the two Detroit shows.

Looking for this odd Shatner/Folds collaboration on vinyl. Will pay $25 for a VG+/NM copy.

I was a big fan of their older stuff (A&R and so on) and Brothers was a badass album considering their change in sound. It still felt like their roots but sounded like they were having fun with the idea of adding more elements. El Camino was okay, but sounded a bit lazy, and it feels like this is going in the same direction. Really hoping their second single will turn me around.
SIde note, I'm so fucking glad I was able to see these guys before they started playing arenas. The Palladium was the last show I saw them at. Are the shows still good? It's hard imagining these guys playing such a big room. Don't get me wrong, they deserve it, but i can't picture it. Anyone seen them recently?
I saw them with the Arctic Monkeys during their El Camino tour. It was an alright show I guess. They play with a full back up band except for a few songs.
-
This actually sounds a lot like Broken Bells to me. I haven't been a huge fan of his work with the Black Keys. El Camino was too straightforward, IMO.
-
Wow... another great band moving to Nonesuch Records! Seems like they are amassing quite a talented roster these days!
They've been on Nonesuch since 2006.

My 3 records came. Perfect shape, same packaging that Amazon uses.

I like the top artwork more. Seems better for an album cover.
