  1. If anyone needs to glue a jacket and you're concerned about the "collectibility" of your records use an acid free rubber cement. If done correctly, no one will ever know. Then...PROFIT.

I'm not concerned about "collectibility," I just want to make it seem like it was glued professionally. If I wanted collectibility, I wouldn't have taken it out of the shrink wrap.

Rubber cement is a good idea. Well, better than glue sticks anyway. I'll research more on gluing records tomorrow.

  2. I guess it's unreasonable to expect a $40 album jacket to arrive intact. I'm sure some of the "just superglue it" people wouldn't do it if they were in the same situation.

This isn't some $12 Bon Iver record that I wouldn't mind gluing. It's a limited edition collector's album that was expensive. I didn't buy a DIY project, and it's apparently in bad taste to ask for a jacket that is glued properly.

Edit: I'm not mad at Mondo or anything, they're in the process of helping me out. It's just that for some reason it seems like I'm being ridiculed for not wanting to glue a brand new record.

  3. Okay, so I had placed two orders one for A and B. I ordered B first. Afterwards, I e-mailed about combining shipping. They said no problem. So when one updated with shipping info then I figured, that's fine (the e-mail exchange specifically said ONE would be updated with shipping info and I would receive a shipping refund). Today the package came.

    Inside was A only.

Check my posts above. Exact same situation.

  4. I have no idea if what you're saying is accurate, but the reason that I've heard as to why the stereo set upset people was that it was cut from the digital CD remaster rather than taking it from the analog source tapes and remastered specifically for vinyl.

    That's partially why.

The other half is quality control issues. In the US, Rainbo sucked and there were many pressing defects. The EU versions were fine.

  5. This might be a stupid question, but when was the first time any Beatles recordings were pressed in stereo? It couldn't have been 2009 could it? Both my copies of White Album and Help are old as shit, have the original release years on the labels/packaging, and are both stereo. Plus the Help album cover says stereo, but I'm unsure what that's about.

My Abbey Road is Mofi, and Let It Be was stereo released anyway.

They were all pressed in mono and stereo originally, except for Abbey Road and Let It Be, which were stereo only.

  6. Haha not going to lie, I'm a bit nervous about my Jurassic Park vinyl. I ordered version A and B on different orders (because I was afraid B would sell out really quickly, and it did). I told them to combine the orders, and I received an email saying the combination was successful. Later that day, I got an email that said version A has shipped, and when I check the My Account section, version B says Processing. I sent them an email asking what was going on and they haven't replied back.

I know I'm being overly worried, but if I somehow miss out on version B, I will go crazy.

  7. Are these true analog? You can say "remastered from the original analog tapes" and still use digital files for the vinyl like they did with the stereo set. The White Album will be mine since it's a bitch to find in mono.

    Edit: Yep:

"The EMI representative told me that after absorbing the criticism heaped on the digitally sourced stereo box—including the extensive analogplanet.com coverage, which was correctly construed as constructive criticism—the decision was made to produce the mono LPs using an all analog mastering chain."
