  1. I had a ton of fun with Arkham City! I've been playing through the Mass Effect series, but I'm taking a break to play Dishonored...I refuse to pay more than $10 for a video game, so I'm usually a little behind.
  2. Well, only one response to it, but since it's cat parade... This dude, Jesse Moynihan has an awesome webcomic that he's currently on hiatus from. I started reading it a while back and after a while he started working as a storyboarder on Adventure Time. I think he's responsible for a lot of the most mystical weird stuff on that show from probably season 3 forward. Maybe some of season 2. This is wayyyy different than Adventure Time though.
  3. Emailed you, I'm not expecting to find a lot of the stuff I'm looking for, but there's a good bit that I could see being there.
  4. Hey. Any of you guys read webcomics/love weird sci-fi and fantasy? I'll check back in later to see whether to post a link or not!
  5. Dude that owns it is supposedly from Buffalo, NY? According to my buddy at least... He knows how to make some NY style pizza for sure, so I'd believe it. Wish they served good Buffalo style wings though.
  6. I was gonna say, Oldboy is part of a pseudo-trilogy with those movies. Oldboy is sweeeeet though. Also check out Tetsuo: The Iron Man and it's sequels. Pretty weird, fucked up stuff. Japanese though, not Korean.
  7. I mostly use http://www.portlandmetal.net/ and http://pc-pdx.com/show-guide/ Yay! I'm not great either, but. You know. Alcohol! Which you won't be able to drink unfortunately because bars are suuuuper strict in Portland.
  8. No prob! parkinglot, I might actually try to make that Menzingers show. It's on a week I have to work Saturday, so I can try to get Thursday off. We'll see!
  9. Oh! I know right where Branx is. My favorite game store used to be next door. Sometimes there's a dude with a frozen yogurt truck who parks outside there and around back there is a place called Big Ass Sandwiches that is NUTS. They close kind of early though. There's also a bar/restaurant around the block called Produce Row that serves some incredible food. I do love Lemuria, even though I don't think I've heard their most recent stuff. I used to live about an hour and a half from their home town, so they'd come over to Rochester a lot. I think some of my buddies were friends with the gal.
  10. I think from here on out everyone in that thread should only post in haiku. That's just me though, I find stuff like that funny.
  11. (I've actually never listened to the Menzingers...where is the show/what do they sound like? Maybe I'll check it out.) The "big" local coffee chain here is stumptown, people go ape over that shit. They know their craft. Voodoo Donuts is another thing people are crazy about, but I think it's kind of a touristy thing at this point. Ummmmmm. The Ace Hotel is neat if you're staying in town, downtown. Kind of...expensive hostel-y? Mississippi Records is the best record store in town in my humble opinion. It's in North Portland though. Chinatown has some cool stuff. The Japanese Garden sounds kind of boring...but it's awesome. Also kind of touristy though. Less expensive than I thought it was and if you're into tea they have an awesome tea room. The main draw for me here is the food though. Eat at Clyde Common (connected to Ace hotel coincidentally.) that joint is tits and was the first place I ate when I came to visit here before moving. Gravy in North Portland has a Smoked Salmon Hash good enough that I capitalized it... Sizzle Pie has some bomb-ass pizza, and it's a pretty punk-rock joint. Really good jukebox. Dantes is a bar a lot of people check out, haven't been there yet but they have shows and burlesque, but if you're only 20 you might not be able to go, I'm not sure on their policy. I mostly hang in North Portland, but I don't want to suggest too much out here because most people stay near the pearl downtown and I don't want you to think you're missing out on too much. Food carts are everywhere... I'd just check out pretty much every cool looking hole-in-the-wall place you see. You'd be surprised how many are actually as neat as they look. As far as coast stuff, I haven't been out there more than 2 or three times and I've only been to Cannon(sp?) Beach but out there they have the rock formation from The Goonies that they look through the coin at. It's nice out there, kind of sleepy and laid back. Astoria is supposed to be nice too, that's where other parts of The Goonies were filmed.
