  3. one of my goals in life has always been to get to all 50 states. i'm 5 away from accomplishing that goal, and by the end of this year, i'm going to do it. the five i'm currently missing are Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Oregon, and Hawaii. since 3 of the 5 that i'm missing are all right next to each other, i wanted to plan a road trip where i hit all three. and, since i've never been to Fest in Gainesville before, i figured i'd time it up with that and do it all in one shot since i'll be relatively close going to Alabama. it also happens that the 30th anniversary celebration of The Lost Cross House (possibly the oldest/longest running punk house in America) is happening in Carbondale, IL the week before, so the timing for all of this is working out pretty neatly for me. here's my tentative route: Chicago, IL Carbondale, IL Memphis, TN Jackson, MS New Orleans, LA Gainesville, FL Muscle Shoals, AL Louisville, KY Chicago, IL i'm not 100% married to going to Jackson, Mississippi. it was just a big city in the state and along the route from Carbondale to New Orleans. i AM, however, 100% open to suggestions if there are cool places to go/cool things to see and do. i'm super into history and sports, and not as much into partying and dance clubs, to give you an idea of the types of suggestions i'd be most receptive to hearing. obviously, i'm into music, too, but i'd rather see the sights/places i can't experience anywhere else than go to a show, especially considering i'll be bookending my trip with two different fests. if you live in any of these areas and want to meet up with me or house me for a night while i'm around, that would be dope. we're looking at the last 10 days of october into the first couple days of November as far as timing goes. any and all help is greatly appreciated!

  5. HOUSE OF LIGHTNING - "Lightworker" LP/CS is up for PREORDER now! Features Henry from FLOOR. Perhaps some of you are into it. I know it's not for everyone. Thanks and Enjoy! HOUSE OF LIGHTNING is coming – look busy. Featuring past and present members of DOVE, FLOOR, and CAVITY. The death of DOVE finally gives rebirth to HOUSE OF LIGHTNING...Rising from the ashes like a mighty phoenix. The resurrection occurs on Easter Sunday 4/20 in the form of a 10-song, 40-minute riff-rollercoaster, "Lightworker". Hard to hang just one category/genre on their sound, House Of Lightning is a positively spiritual incorporation of heavy metal, thrash, bits of math, a sprinkle of prog, a pinch of 1984, and a dash of 5150. Five years in the making, "Lightworker" is finally upon us. Henry Wilson - Guitar, Vocals, Synth John Ostberg - drums Recorded by Mark Nikolich at Atomic Audio Sleeve Art by Francesco LoCastro 2 TRACKS HERE: http://fairwarningrecords.bandcamp.com/ LISTEN HERE TOO: https://soundcloud.com/fair-warning-records PREORDER LP/CS: http://fairwarning.storenvy.com/ *** first 100 copies are on Blood Orange vinyl ***
  6. So my girlfriend and I are moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 10 days. We're excited to get out of the north (we currently live in PA) and head down south. We've loved the area every time we've been through on tour, and in all my visits to Florida over the past 8 years, I've never had one bad experience. Any of you live in the area? We have some friends, but we're looking at this as a whole new chapter of our lives. Would love to hang out with some fellow VC'ers, learn the ropes of the area!

  8. Though I know that many of you already have this beauty, it is nearly out of print. I have 4 copies left, and RevHQ has a small handful remaining as well. Beyond that, you may soon be out of luck. It's an awesome record, and we turned the artwork into a 4 color screen print. Each copy is numbered (this variant out of 314)...you owe it to your childhood memories to own a copy. http://www.mindovermatterrecords.com
