  1. thanks for this! I just checked and it says it will be back in stock 11/13, you can order now and its even a bit cheaper. It did allow shipping to the U.S. as well. Ended up being about $47 shipped.
  2. Fanboys of any band or brand are obnoxious. I dont think its much worse for Coheed, it may just be that you actually like the product and are paying attention to how stupid the people are, and that somehow they still like something you do. Im old now, but the cost of band shirts is nuts, especially for the quality of the shirt you are getting. Maybe I am just cheap when it comes to fashion, and maybe thats because I have no sense of it, but a cheap pair of jeans and a plain shirt are just fine with me.
  3. Thanks, picked up neon ballroom by silverchair at a pretty good price
  4. Well, I guess it depends on where you live and who is around to play. I live in a fairly rural area and there are only a handful of local shops and places to play. They all play sanctioned tournament rules 90% of the time. The few people around that I know play, all play at those places. So, to keep up, you have to keep buying into the new sets. I am not into it enough to do that, so I just moved on to other hobbies.
  5. First started playing during high school in the mid 90s, and have played on and off since then, although it has been quite some time since the last time I did. If I did now, it would probably just be legacy with friends. I hate the fact that you need to keep buying the new sets. I am not into it enough to want to spend that amount of money. In general, I think they screwed the casual player.
  6. I know how you feel...i thought i was gaving terrible luck getting stuff in mint condition. It drives me nuts. But. It does seem to happen to everyone. Maybe i just have high expectations. I have always collected sports cards, and am used to having to keep everything perfect. Unfortunately, there aren't any local record stores within an hour...
  7. Wow! This is unexpected! Havent thought of the band in so long. Saw them a few times in the late 90s, early 00s, they were great.
  8. Thanks everyone! Thats what i wanted to know. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't effect playback, it does seems to sit ok!
  9. Pictures... https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-DgJuZZeqvqT3Fkd0dDNmluZjQ/edit?usp=docslist_api https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-DgJuZZeqvqNDl4TjBGVkhhNlU/edit?usp=docslist_api Any help is appreciated!
  10. Just bought a brand new copy of frogstomp by silverchair. The second record is single sided. When I opened it, the second records center spindle appears to warp downwards towards the empty side. Is this normal? I don't have any other single sided albums to compare it to and my turntable crapped out and in the midst of ordering a new one. I will try to post pictures.
  11. Haha, no, never tried that, but I guess that could be an option.
  12. I can see both sides to the argument. They were sorely needed at one time, but it has gotten out of hand. The real truth is there is a middle ground. Is there a necessity for Unions? Probably, but in some instances they have become so powerful, that now they are the ones doing the bullying. I have been in a public service union, and really, it did little to nothing for me. In some instances, it hurt me, as I would have otherwise been able to get promotions, raises, etc that I couldn't get due to the union. When I asked them for help a couple of times, they weren't able to help. Now, I know I am just one person, but in my experience it, they were not helpful. I have also experienced the scourge that powerful unions can bring. I work as a planner for a small rustbelt city. Industry has all left, half the population has left, but the unions are still the most powerful game in town. They have raped the City on multiple occasions and now, we are left with a shell of a City, yet we have more police per capita than Detroit, in a town of 12,000 people. Same with the fire department. The police also average over $100,000 in salary per year, when the average for a family is $28,000. Taxes have gone way up to afford this and the few businesses that have remained are moving out. Its a sad situation. All that is left to plan, is the funeral.
  13. Start looking for a new one. No reason to stay in a job you hate. Now, some people may never find a job they like. Personally, I can't stay somewhere for more than 3 years. No matter how much I liked it, I get bored and want to try something new. Nothing wrong with that imo.
  14. Very interesting. From everything I have heard, he may be able to make it back for the opening game, which would be great. That is going to be a decent secondary once he comes back.
  15. Any other interest? In terms of trades, I could be interested in anything but main interests off of the top of my head right now include other Smashing Pumpkins stuff, Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, Sunny Day Real Estate, My Bloody Valentine, Silverchair, Mars Volta, Dinosaur Jr, Pixies, Propagandhi, Weakerthans, and probably many others...
  16. Hmm, you took away all the really good stuff! I had planned on highlighting what I was really interested in. If I had, our lists would be almost identical. Let me think about it and take a look at your list again, Im just not sure if there is enough there for me to make a trade or not.
