Stay outta LA, especially residing there. I'd go more often if I could find a fucking parking space. Take heed and find a surrounding area to live in. A one hour commute isn't so bad. Try nice areas like Monrovia, Pasadena, Claremont, San Dimas, West/Covina, Arcadia, Glendora, etc. Those are nice places to live with plenty to do around. Some might be as expensive as LA but you'll find it more enjoyable to live in.

Mondo would've been smart to jump on True Detective season 1. They could've had a fucking field day with the endless variations of artwork to make it a release to remember. I mean have you seen the fan art? Looks like something Mondo would draw up. Maybe a carcosa spiral on the vinyl? Shit. Take my paycheck.

Yuuup. I honestly don't understand why it's hard for Mondo to respond to the multiple people on social media who have asked what the run on this will be. Personally, I really want this soundtrack. But I don't have that kind of money to spend on it right now, and am curious if I am safe to wait it out.

 

I don't see why they would man. Mondo is a business, and successful businesses know how to make you buy either out of love and/or panic.

I agree, but due to limited space (there's a door next to that guitar) that's the only place I could put it for now. I live in a shit one bedroom (my kitchen area I built is in front of my bed kind of setup)

 

Nothing special. Probably gonna replace those A5's with Wharfedale Dentons with some stands, have a couple stacks of LPs hiding throughout the room I could put in those two cubes where the speakers are.

And it's not the box set, it's a bundle of the individual albums - which I prefer because they have the OG art.

According to Discogs I could sell my collection for ~$14000, and I'm going to use that number since a lot of my collection hasn't been sold on discogs before, so if I were to sell everything I assume those would make up the extra money.

 

What would I do?

Been waiting years! This is great news. 

I honestly don't know if i would feel liberated or devastated. Definitely in to fund a taco spree though. 

It's an idea i've been toying around for years when I consider how much of my money goes into music (records, speakers, preamps, turntables, etc). Now that i'm going back to school to finish my BSME, its something I consider more and more. I'd been building my collection to pass down should I have kids one day, but life is so unpredictable. 

 

I know its essential for a lot of folks to get rid of theirs because of unemployment, babies, house payments, transportation, etc. But for those who don't have that necessity to sell, what would you do with the $$$?

ps: you can't buy more records. 

 

 

I'd save half for tuition and use the other half and fly to Iceland and enjoy a fuckin hot dog (best in Europe I hear).
