Shipping costs kill me.

Don't post here much but felt compelled to weigh in on this discussion, having gone through a freakishly similar divorce situation myself recently. And also to offer a girl's POV... I get the impression you're not looking for advice whether to go ahead with it or not, moreso just to discuss etc, but these are my jumbled thoughts anyway... First of all, major kudos to you for facing up to the reality of and choosing to deal with the breakdown of your relationship. So many people don't, chosing to just ignore or passively accept the fact it has happened. Before I was married, I was always anti-divorce and definitely did not ever think I would go through it myself. But what I didn't realise then was in some relationships, you do reach the point of no return, where no matter how much you geniunely love and care about the other person, you are no longer in love with them and can't go back to where you were in love. If you think the marriage is still worth fighting for, then fight for it with everything you have, but if the love is already dead and buried between you both, (and you should know the answer to this in your heart, even if you don't want to admit it) I agree that divorce is the best option. In my situation, we made a similar heartbreaking decision to go our different ways. It wasn't easy and we now lead completely seperate lives. It took a while to get used too and even though I miss having him around as a friend, I am still 100% certain we made the right decision for us both. I realise it would have been the easier and more 'comfortable' option to just stay married and that my future is now unknown, but that is what makes this my life. I don't regret getting married, and I also don't regret getting divorced. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say that I agree with pretty much everything you said and I hope both you and your ex find what you are looking for. Disclaimer: I know some people are always going to disagree with divorce on religious grounds etc and I am not trying to change their beliefs, but I dont believe in their god.

I got one of these! I assumed it was because I bought a few other records at the same time. Looks cool, but not sure what I am going to do with it though...

I recently purchased a record from VC which arrived at my house the other day in perfect condition, despite having travelled from pretty much the other side of the world. However, within about 15 mins of the very first time I put it on my record player, I managed to drop one of my stereo speakers onto the record player, which resulted in not only cracking the player's cover, but also a noticeable scratch on the LP. :'( So, partly to make myself feel better about my own clumsiness...I was just wondering if anyone else has inflicted damage to any of their vinyl? I am not talking about in the post etc, but something you have done yourself?

I always open all my new vinyl as soon as I get them. There's something special to me about taking in all the artwork (gatefolds, inner sleeves etc), holding the record physically in your hands and then playing it for the first time. I know this may be stating the obvious, but music is made to be heard and records are made to be played...otherwise, for all intents and purposes, you are just buying expensive pieces of cardboard.

Just wondering if you have heard anything back from Eyeball yet? I never got an email reply from them regarding my order cancellation, but they did credit me back my refund.

There is only one band that I actively collect everything they release (variants included). I do it for the love of the band and the collection, not because of any idea of making lots of money off rare variants in the future etc. In fact, it's kind of like a money black hole, there is always something else you have to have... but I don't regret it. Any other records I buy are ones that I want in my personal collection, to listen to and keep for myself. I admit though to having bought into the hype surrounding some releases in the past, so especially now that things have becomer tougher financially, I try and limit myself to albums I love and know I will play.

I live in Australia and ordered a red MCR record from Eyeball because VC was already sold out. However, just a few days ago (on the 13th), they sent me an email saying that the international postage charge I paid wasn't enough and I could either choose to cancel my order or paypal the postage difference if I wanted my record sent. If you ordered over their website, maybe the same thing happened to your order? Have you received any emails from them? Even if your order is fine, I guess my experience shows that they were still in the process of sending them out very recently, and seeing as you are in Thailand, it is probably still on it's way. Sucks though that you didn't get in time for Valentine's Day. I ended up ordering the red MCR record off VC once more copies became available (just so I could be entered in the test press competition ), and I got that record two days ago. And since Eyeball stuffed my order up, I ended up cancelling my order there anyway. Now I am just waiting on my refund.....which should be soon, yeah? ???

Hi all, I'm a poor obsessed MCR fan/VC lurker who just missed out on the pre-order for My Chemical Romance's Bullets LP on white vinyl and I can't get over it. :'( Even though I know they were just released, I would really love to talk to anyone who may be reconsidering their purchase or looking to make an easy profit!
