  1. I ran out of mailers a few months ago when selling a couple of Ebay records. I put the record in a plastic bag. Asked the pizza place for a few large boxes and cut the tops and bottoms off, taped them together like hell, and mailed it. I had to ship 3 (albeit cheap) records separately like that and had no complaints.
  2. I had mixed feelings about it. I mean, Bret has made a (2nd) career blaming Vince for all the world's ills. His book lays things out pretty clear, he holds Vince responsible for Owen's death, as well as the Montreal Screwjob. I understand you gotta eat, but this is just a complete 180 from his previous views. That said, it was pretty cool to see him back in the ring. I saw him in downtown Toronto a few years ago after his stroke and he was shuffling down the street very slowly, he has come a long way since then. Hopefully this is the start of a respectful comeback. He has allowed Montreal to define his career, it's almost tragic (if there wasn't already so much tragedy in wrestling) how he held onto that for so long. Of course, the past 12 years could have just been a work leading up to this week....just kidding.
  3. Also, there is an unannounced repress....the website opens like the cover of an old bible....
  4. Respectfully agree/disagree..... Season 1-3 - Awesome Season 4 - Good Season 5 - Good Season 6 - Brutal Season 7 - Return to good
  5. Excited for "New/Old Release Tuesday", just a quick question....how did people get the 5 dollar off coupon? Was it random? Or did it depend on the number of orders?
  6. 894 1) Knock Knock 2) Who's There 1) Interupting Cow 2) Interupting Co.... 1) Mooo!
  7. And the description to the right on this page pretty much confirms it......hooray. http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/683 I bet this was what Pat meant when he said there may be something else before the end of the year
  8. Suspcious..... a belated Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa gift? http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/666
  9. Back to Criminal Records - anyone from Toronto area, the prices are great, check it out.....after seeing Bad Religion's Strager than Fiction for 27.99 at a Hamilton store, saw it for 18.99 at Criminal.

  11. Posted at Fat's Website - congrats to the people who got the rare ones..... Cokie The Clown (103 on White w/ Red Haze Color vinyl. 903 on Green Vinyl. No Longer Available.) My Orphan Year (103 on Blue vinyl. 903 on Brown Vinyl. No Longer Available.)
  12. Sabot's been good the two or three times I ordered from them. I am never quite sure how much of the delay is the fault of the post office crossing the border and how much is delays in sending it out. I always am too excited to look at the postmark.
  13. As an "international" buyer there is an extra barrier to great service. I've been ordering consistently from Fat Wreck since 1996 - got a green "fuck the kids"! (not quoting the year for scene points, just saying to emphasize the point) and I have NEVER had an issue with anything they've sent me - That's including CDs, vinyl, clothing, box sets, the works. Always reasonable shipping. No Idea has always been great - that's since 1998. Shipping accurate and great Interpunk sucks for international because they put the actual cost on the customs waiver - I've always had to pay duty. Dischord - awesome - best shipping rates to Canada (along with Fat) Team Science - great, plus free corkscrew - even indicated on the back of the package Third Man - great - $7 postage paid to Canada, pretty reasonable Chunksaah - great, I can't recall the shipping costs, but I've always ordered clothing plus records so that throws it off a bit. Great Customer Service. Epitaph - Great! Pirate's Press - Good. VC - fantastic. Rough Trade - there website was not up to date, when I used to order from them they were routinely out of half the stuff I ordered - that was years ago though Banquet Records - They sent me the wrong CD from England - they asked me to send it back and refunded me the shipping back, then sent me out the new one. I was a bit surprised since they made the mistake - I didn't mind, but I still had to buy a new shipping envelope and go to the post office. Like I said, I didn't mind but I was still surprised they didn't just take the loss since it was their mistake. I would (and just did) order from them again though. My only negative experience has been with Lookout - I sent out a money order (remember those? Before the chaos of online ordering and ebay) in 1997 (when the Canadian dollar was in the shit)for a punk uprisings CD and an operation ivy shirt, and nothing, no help either. The Second shitty experience was this year with Hotel Grand Cleefe Records from Germany - two 7"s were shipped with no backing support in a bubble mailer - they arrived in one piece but the (shitty quality) sleeves were badly bent. It's probably the ethic of the scene along with the desire to be a good business that leaves all of us pretty happy with the service we get.
  14. I actually asked the doorman last night if they were selling them yet, he said no - and he wasn't sure when they were going to start either.
  15. Also, Dave Hause isn't opening the St. Catharines show - according to his website he's playing there the following Sunday Feb. 7th as a headliner. Lemuria is opening the Jan 31st show.
  16. I happened to find myself in the bar in St Catharines where they will be playing on the 31st. It should be a pretty intimate show. The venue is like a dirty Abercrombie - reallly dark, walls separating the rooms and different smells in each. Should be great. On a side note, Moneen was playing up the street, I went in after the show and asked if they had the new vinyl and the merch person said no - I assume they were just trying to get rid of me though as they were packing up.
  17. Yeah, it was Kenny - I guess 18 months isn't that long out of print. Sorry if I pissed anyone off - I didn't see it before.
  18. Don't know if anyone noticed, but there is a limited 7" that is listed as available after being thought to be long out of print. Happy hunting!
  19. That was very much a 90s reference - although I guess Unwritten Law went a bit further after that.
  20. Amazing, I actually just referenced "Having said that" in the AlexisOnFire thread. The ending was really the only way if could have gone.
  21. I hate it when people correct posts made by other people - especially people who work as hard as Virgil, that being said (Curb was fantastic), they are from St. Catharines, Ontario. Sorry, I have to recognize the Garden City.
  22. Vinyl Collective has the preorder at 17.49, Interpunk has it as well. It will probably be in the 15.00 - 18.00 dollar range from Fat when they fire it up. The LP would have to be released in 6 discs or so, it would be pretty cost prohibitive for most - especially considering the first disc is all previously released, and the third they might want to keep off vinyl to keep the uniqueness of the fat club. That said, I fully anticipate a NOFX 7" of the month club CD/12" to see the light of day in the future. So maybe the Fat CLub will be it's own 12 at some point.
  23. I hope they make the tour versions available at some point. I had a chance to pick up the first one in March, but haven't been to any shows since (missed one in September). I've gotten all the mail order ones in the meantime. Not enough of a completist to get into the retail ones. The locked groove does make it interesting, I guess it's no more annoying than having to fast forward 8 minutes of silence to get to the hidden track on CDs. Ballads from the Revolution and Behind Bars were the most annoying I recall, so many times I got so close and pushed it down too hard and skipped to the next song. Anyways, ordered this one, along with that killer scarf. Edit: The other thread talked all about the comparison to secret tracks, I didn't read that.
