  5. The pre-order is up at the German Label.... http://www.ghvc-shop.de/detail/john-k-samson-provincial-road-222-vorbestellung According to online babelfish, either the first 500 are limited, or the run is limited to 500. The cover is different, I actually expected a similar cover to the last one. The German label pressed it on transparent blue last time. Shipping is a killer, but I ordered two to help with that. Karl from Kings Road/Epitaph said that the North American release will be up around the middle of September. Oddly enough, Mr. Samson will be sharing the stage in Winnipeg with John Waters in November. Combine that with the "homecoming shows", people from the 'Peg are finally getting some payback from losing the Jets all those years ago...
  6. This is from ChartAttack today, gives the tracklisting, one of the song titles is wrong though, I'm pretty sure "The Last And" is actually "The Last &" or "The Last Ampersand" - he's been playing it live on his solo tour. The Riverton Rifle (a.k.a. Reggie Leach) may not have played professionally in over 26 years, but he's still an important figure to some people. Now he'll be immortalized in his very own sort-of folk song thanks to The Weakerthans' John K. Samson. Samson creates a picture of life in Manitoba on his new Provincial Road 222 solo EP. "Petition" details the ongoing efforts of citizens from Riverton, which Provincial Road 222 runs through, to get Leach inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame. Leach is an Aboriginal Canadian and played for the Philadelphia Flyers from 1974 to 1982. He also played with the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings before ending his career in 1984. Leach is currently an Honoured Member of the Manitoba Hockey Hall Of Fame, but despite his prolific career, he has yet to be inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame in Toronto. Provincial Road 222 features two other tracks, "The Last And" and "Stop Error." It's part of ongoing recordings that explore roads and highways in Samson's home province of Manitoba. The EP will available on seven-inch vinyl and digital download on Sept. 21. You can sign the petition to make Reggie Leach an official part of the Hockey Hall Of Fame here. You can also see Samson with The Weakerthans, playing their entire discography at these shows: Dec. 15 Winnipeg, MB @ The Royal Albert Arms (Fallow) Dec. 16 Winnipeg, MB @ West End Cultural Centre (Left & Leaving) Dec. 17 Winnipeg, MB @ The Pyramid Cabaret (Reconstruction Site) Dec. 18 Winnipeg, MB @ Burton Cummings Theatre (Reunion Tour)
  7. Cool question, My parents had Abbey Road on cassette and they used to listen to that and 461 Ocean Blvd on long car rides. Being so young, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Here Comes the Sun, and Octopus's Garden stuck in my mind
  8. Ah shucks....I just practically gave away Surrender on Red, it sold for 5.51 on Ebay.
  9. Thanks for all the info. That sounds great. The shirt from the last one was pretty cool. That's an interesting idea, to keep the colours consistent - even the cover, with just a change in title? A book bag would be functional for the 3rd release, something different rather than another shirt. You should talk up a solo tour for him, I saw him open for the constantines in Hamilton, Ontario last year - just him and a guitar (and what appeared to be a tape deck) it takes the songs to a whole new poetic level. I have a feeling a novel is in his (distant-ish) future, maybe then the Pulitzer people will take notice.
  10. I see you are online now, Any news about John K Samson's preorder?
  11. Ending soon, the shirt ends in just over an hour. The 7" are all still low low low. Thanks for looking! http://shop.ebay.com/sir-richard-richard/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340
  12. From JKS's facebook..... A JKS solo EP, "Provincial Road 222," will be released on limited edition 7-inch vinyl and through digital download on September 21 by Epitaph/ANTI Records in North America, and September 17 by Grand Hotel Van Cleef in Europe. "Provincial Road 222" features the Correction Line Ensemble, and is the second in John's series of recordings that explore streets, roads, and highways in Manitoba. The pre-order is up at the German Label.... http://www.ghvc-shop.de/detail/john-k-samson-provincial-road-222-vorbestellung According to online babelfish, either the first 500 are limited, or the run is limited to 500. 13. NOFX Sucks on one side, NOFX socks on the other - Sorry, I can't find the other one. This has never been on a human foot.
  14. Hi everyone, thought I would see if anyone on here wants first crack at this. It is a size large, made by Hurley and purchased on the Warped tour about 10 years ago. It's been hanging in my closet for 10 years, and worn once. It's in excellent condition. I'll try to upload a picture tonight. I've been selling on Ebay for quite a while... http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=sir-richard-richard Make me an offer!
  15. FYI - The show in Toronto has been moved to a place called Parts and Labour. It was orginally scheduled for the Mod Club. Can't make it tonight though, may try to hit up London tomorrow night.
  16. Murray's quote that ends with "...they can buy anything, but they can't buy backbone" The first one is done by Kevin Tong, the second is Todd Slater.
  17. Chamberlain isn't playing the Toronto date, they start on the 16th in St. Louis. The Menzingers are opening instead in Toronto.
