CD releases you'd love on vinyl but won't happen
waggy replied to xxmartinxx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
ok so this may have already been posted by VC should REALLY consider pressing In Pieces-Lions Write History anybody who has heard the album knows that it's one of the most awesome post hardcore releases ever, and "Learning to Accept Silence" got pressed on a pic disc and sold by VC so perhaps LWH is a possibility? album is the shit. -
Polar Bear Club "Sometimes Things..." vinyl news!
waggy replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i mean its certainly not bad but with the potential they showed on "the redder" i was ready for them to drop an absolute bomb. instead i got a pretty solid album that lacked any of the punch their previous release had. it just sort of trots along and then ends, but if you dig it then more power to you. ep is pretty fantastic. -
especially cause if you dont have Dramamine on there the record is already like 1/2 as enjoyable
-
it's got some cool inserts in it
-
what is the off minor cover? mine has some animal that looks like a cross between a deer and a bear...not really looking to part with it.
-
i ordered this when it first went up, before it was initially taken down and was only a pressing of 1000. is my order still held? that would be sort of a bummer, i'd have to pay ebay prices for something like this.

Polar Bear Club "Sometimes Things..." vinyl news!

it's a shame they are pressing this instead of the EP. the EP was fantastic, full length was a little meh. it was all just too homogenous, every single song was mid tempo. -
Protest the Hero Fotress Deluxe Edition???
waggy replied to jordan999's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
my friend picked up the deluxe edition and it does look great. i mean really fantastic packaging. very cool looking color too. however, bearing in mind that fortress was kind of cheesy and dissapointing i'll just deal with having my lame purple one. -
preBay: TEST PRESS Minus the Bear- Planet of Ice
waggy replied to chrisnorman's topic in Sale/Trade/Wants
agreed i have a few tests but the lack of any art/jacket/label is sort of dissapointing. it'd be nice to see a more interesting "rarity" factor than just small production. -
preBay: TEST PRESS Minus the Bear- Planet of Ice

haha awesome, congratz that's a great addition to any collection -
i dont really buy records to collect. i dont try and get every color or every variant, although i do definitely see the allure in a rare record and have some stuff that is tough to find/expensive. but nah don't have any sealed records. anything i buy i buy because i want to do drugs and listen to it in my room, not because i plan on ever selling. i don't really trade records because i don't like letting things go. i can certainly understand how some people would keep them sealed but thats just not for me.

THE OFFICIAL EBAY CRAZINESS THREAD
waggy replied to vinyljunkie's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I put in a high bid $100 for that because I was really high and knew I was about to pass out(so I couldn't snipe it) thinking there was NO WAY it could possibly get that high. What does Burst and Bloom usually go for? -
Shadows Fall-Of One Blood? It's the only release by the band that I like and I picked up a copy while I was in NYC. I was just curious to the availability of the record, as I've never seen one.

PO: TERA MELOS Drugs LP/Idioms 7" starting 3/23
waggy replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i haven't heard the split but i was pretty bummed when i found out they had vocals. when i went to see them last year with the fall of troy we were waiting in line and i go "what band is playing the singer sucks" and the kid in front of me goes "uhh some band called tera melos or something". i was really confused because i had seen them a few years before (i think with fot on that tour too) and they didn't have vocals and they were the shit. i was so bummed the whole set because it was no where near as good as the first time i had seen them. anyone feel the same way? i think the material with their split with vocals is still pretty awesome, but yeah, i think the entire tera melos fanbase wishes jeff worms was still in the band and they were instrumental. -
i think that against me! is playing a house show is sort of beautiful

waggy replied to scottheisel's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
yeah i would really like to see s/t pressed though. moreso than a Drugs re press. lets all be honest though TM is going downhill. new material won't be that great because now that vince is gone there is nobody to tell Nick Reinhart to cut back on all the mediocre indie stylings. take the project he was doing with zach hill, bygones: i mean yeah it was pretty cool, and yeah it was pretty technical, but at the end of the day it sounded like a decent indie/hella that lacked any real original "umph". i mean the thing that was so great about s/t and drugs to the dear youth is that it is just so inventive. i think the long ambient sections on drugs are honestly some of the most beautiful instrumental music laid to tape, and that whole EP is pretty much perfect. the split was great too, and had some awesome moments, but i think thats because they still had Vince behind the kit to make sure everything is quality. Nick Reinhart is one of my favorite guitar players, and they might suprise me, but in all honestly i'm not real optimistic about a future for TM. i hate to be the guy who is yelling "they suck now that they are big!!" but ever since the band has been gaining momentum(touring with FOT etc) their material has really taken a turn downhill. /rant -
