  1. Yup, TRL. The second LP is translucent white, but that didn't quite fit the Simpsons reference
  2. Got my Sovereign replacement today...happy to report that there are no issues at all; the track order is correct and it sounds great! It came sealed in a sleeve that's the same as the one in the box set. I'll probably keep the incorrect one to loan out to friends as a "Neurosis sampler" haha
  3. For real. All kinds of great fuzz sounds, and that feedback switch can do all sorts of fun stuff too.
  4. ...and as an aside, apparently spending $345 at the merch table is a good way to trigger a fraud alert on one's credit card, which may be problematic if it's then declined when trying to pay for a cab home that evening. Just sayin'
  5. Yeah, I wasn't sure what it was going to be before I opened it up - there wasn't a sticker or anything to indicate the color, and the person at the merch table just knew that it wasn't black but wasn't sure beyond that.
  6. It's like, how much more pink could this be? And the answer is none. None more pink.
  7. Apologies if there's already a thread, or if this is too CD-centric, but this looks like quite the collection: http://shop.pinkfloyd.com/the-early-years-box-set 27 CDs/DVDs, as well as 5 7" singles, for a cool $550. Comes out 11/11. Track list here I'm hoping there's some sort of trailer or sample tracks that get released to get an idea of the sound/video quality of some of the live stuff. Looks like there's a 2-CD "highlights" set coming out as well, but no word if that will be on LP.
  8. Just got my "Circle of Snakes" print from jacobbannon.com - goes well with the quadruple-gatefold!
  9. Thanks! In for 1. It would be awesome if they did a re-release of some of the early 7-inches...maybe a compilation 10" with Flatland Spider on one side and TSMAP on the other...
  10. Is there an option to choose the yellow specifically, or is it safe to assume that one you order this early will be yellow? I only see the "LP - $16" option with no specifics about color.
  11. I have no issues with sound quality, but do have the last few seconds of "Finally, Peace" cut off. I actually didn't realize until today - I had only listened to it on LP the first few times and I thought the abrupt cutoff was a stylistic choice (like Portishead - Silence) since Gira had said that this was their last record with the current lineup. But...I guess whoever was cutting the master just hit Stop too early.
  12. Thanks! I hadn't bothered with the pre-orders before since I'm not really big on signatures, but now I wish I did. I may have to snag a Seer DVD on ebay, since that tour was one of the better shows I've seen in years.
  13. Mine arrived Saturday, and in my opinion it's definitely up there with The Seer as the best of the band's current iteration. I had a question about the DVD though - I pre-ordered the vinyl from Young God and, even though I don't recall it being advertised as coming with a DVD (t think the only mention was the CD/DVD combo), mine came with a DVD anyway - it was in a plain white sleeve outside of the record. So that was certainly a nice surprise! Does anyone know if pre-orders from previous records came with the DVD along with the vinyl? I bought The Seer at a show and To Be Kind at my local shop, and neither came with DVDs, although each was also available as a CD/DVD combo, which i kind of regret not getting when I had a chance...
  14. Hey kids, long-time lurker, first-time poster...just wanted to mention how awesome this thing is. Here's a (poorly-lit) photo of the whole thing: I love what they did with the artwork...having the washed-out type covers on each LP, and then all of the original full-size art and liner notes in the book. Unfortunately, I have the same issue as everyone else - The A side of Sovereign has the A side of Silver in Blood instead. I just emailed about it today, so we'll see what happens. I noticed that the matrix codes are the same, so I assume they just used the wrong stamper when pressing. Also, had a small seam split on Times of Grace (you can sort of see it in the picture) which, given the size and weight of this thing, I certainly won't worry about, and also had a bit of glue on the edge of the Given to the Rising CD, but was able to wipe it off and it seems to work fine. On the whole, I'm really happy with this - everything sounds great, and now I just need to get a frame for the print!
