Another great example: Marvel comics from the 90's (i.e. my whole collection). My two long whites were worth a couple grand six or seven years ago. Every book I have is worth less than the cover price now. I'm not into vinyl so I can sell my collection later (which is why those comics are still in my closet too) but I hope this doesn't make it impossible for me to get the next three MFATGG squares or any of the classic represses I want.

I can't believe how many more items from the square dance series are up there from a week ago, but I guess the rising prices led more people to throw theirs up for auction.

Honestly, I can see both sides. They're basically just different models of releasing something. Fat keeps pressing Eternal Cowboy, (since I just bought it), but they're all on black. The only thing No Idea is doing different is keeping track of the pressing, and doing tons of different colors. I bought a copy a year ago and didn't even realize it was colored until I bought another copy (cause its was listed as colored) and found out...they're all colored! Granted, its either a collector's wet dream or nightmare, depending on how okay they are with being obsessive.

Against Me! - As The Eternal Cowboy Against Me! - Americans Abroad MFATGG - Love Their Country I got the Love Their Country album to go with the square 7" series, cause I'm a dork. And the other two cause I didn't have them already. Its funny, I ordered some stuff from No Idea a few days before I ordered these from Virgil, and these came first. Does No Idea usually take a while? I haven't ordered from them before this.

I didn't notice they were both out of stock until 11:00pm local time (1:00am pst), I wonder how long it took? Any winners on the betting pool? I should have gotten in on that... And you know, I'd be pissed if I missed out on ordering them because one of those internet tubes was clogged. Of course, I wouldn't tell anyone until it came up in my next therapy session, but I'm crazy.

I do the same thing, they're so easy to rationalize at $1 a pop.

I'm actually loving not having a car. The only reason I can spend as much on records as I do is because I'm car-less. I haven't had a car in 9 years.

You folks will either find this amusing or be totally unsurprised : I've been actively collecting for only three months and I only have about 30 lps and fifteen 7"s, but I have 15 more lps and six 7"s on the way. What have I got myself into?

I love the artwork on the gatefold of No Heroes. I want to get a double lp frame just to put it on my wall.

I seem to place an order every other time I see a re-stock post...I wonder if there's a connection there.

I'm hoping they'll do Punk In Drublic, but I know it was originally put out under Epitaph. I think a solid light red, like the cover would look good. I'd even buy a picture disc that looks like linoleum.

While I'm pretty new to collecting vinyl, it seems that your sentiments reflect a lot of what I've seen written elsewhere. I read punknews and slashdot, and this is the first time an article that showed up on both of those showed up here too, at least since I've been obsessively refreshing. Everything you've said is what has attracted my interest, a love of music. Thanks Virgil!

I really like them as a series. They'd make a really good gallery showing, now that I think about it.

I have to agree with dietrootbeer that doing reissues on 6 colors is a bit much, although that didn't stop me preordering the new ETID in all 4 colors. I think I'll be limiting myself to the VC exclusive on this release.
