As far as I can tell, none of these recordings were on the discography. You can't even go to the movies or buy a cocktail in Manhattan with $9. I say quit whining. I pre-ordered mine in both colors. Fucking psyched. I hope these recent releases (aside from this one, the re-release of their first 7" "World to Be Saved...") signal the possibility of a reunion show, since I never got to see'em live.

Nothing worng with cassettes only labels... Yeah! It gives hipsters something to spend their parent's money on besides ironic tattoos and garish clothing!

Hey, so my friend showed up Saturday, and they told him he had to be there on Thursday in order to get the Jon Wayne album. Is Third Man selling it anywhere now that SXSW is over?

My friends are going to be playing SXSW tomorrow and I just got off the phone with them asking if they'll stop by and get me a copy of the Jon Wayne vinyl. They're going to try and find the place if they have a chance. Does anyone have any idea if there are a good number of them left? I'd rather not force my friends to go on a wild goose chase for me if it's sold out already. Also... psyched!

I got my package this week and am stoked on everything that came in it- especially my Beer Party shirt! I can't wait to show off at the gym innit! You guys also added in free stuff on top of my free stuff, so thanks a ton!

I got the Tricky Dick CD, plus a patch & button. I'd never listened to them before, & I found I really like them. I've got the pin on my bag now, & am gonna go see them next time they play NYC. Anyone know when that might be? I also got something else in the mail from Quincy Shanks, but I hafta go pick it up at the post office, so I'm not sure what it is yet.

Alriiiiight! I got the Start/Stop switch working! Huzzah! Now the problem is that the turntable's not turning, even though the motor is humming along okay. I think the belt must have slipped off when I was brutalizing the switch into unsticking. Can anyone tell me how to remove the platter so I can access the belt? I've tried just prying it off, and I've tried turning it and pulling up at the same time, but it's not coming off. All the tutorials I've found make removing the platter sound like the easy part, so I can't find any helpful information. Thanks!

I popped the sucker open & I can see where the black plastic switch connects to a piece that's supposed to pivot. When it pivots, it tugs a thin metal piece that switches on the motor, while at the same time pushing another piece in towards the needle-area. What I'm stuck on now is why the pivoting piece won't slide these things into place smoothly. The piece that triggers the motor seems clear, and like it would smoothly, but the piece near the needle seems to be blocked by something. I can't figure out why it won't budge. I'm wondering if there's an obstruction somewhere- a screw securing the movable parts to transport the record player more safely, or a button I need to push that will let everything slide as it should. Any ideas?

Okay, I've got a finger on the turntable's switch, d'you think that's enough? What channel do I turn to?

The Sanyo GTX 4545 I swiped from my parent's basement has been collecting dust long enough, so tonight I decided to throw some vinyl on there. My mother had warned me when I took it that the turntable didn't rotate anymore, so I brought it to Daddy's Junky Music (do they exist outside of Boston?) and got it fixed up. If I remember correctly, they just put a new belt on it. So flash forward to tonight, I've got some Iggy Pop on there ready to go, but the little toggle switch for "Stop" "Start" and "Auto" won't budge. I've fucked around with seemingly every movable part on there that can be fucked around with, looking for some sort of secret lever to unlock this ridiculous thing, but the switch still won't move. Am I missing something obvious? It doesn't seem broken, just locked in place on "Stop." Does anyone have some experience with early 80's turntables & can tell me how to get this thing going? Also, I tried to do some research myself, but my computer's broken (it says something about me that I'm putting more effort into fixing a 30 year-old turntable than my computer, doesn't it?), so I'm relying on my iTouch & stolen WiFi that keeps disconnecting & never has more than one bar. Anyway, I feel like you guys probably have more expertise about this sort of thing. Any tips, tricks, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sucks that this is in California. I got to see an installation he put together at the C-Squat art show last month that was really cool. He wheatpasted original copies of his writing all over the walls and floor, so you had to walk around and squat down and stand on tip toes and look all around to read each one.

I'll probably check it out.

I ordered a 7" from someone shortly after moving to a new apartment. I'd gone all around eBay and PayPal updating my address, but it seems like maybe I only updated my contact info and/or my billing info, or something, because when I got the confirmation email my shipping address was listed as my old address. I immediately emailed the seller and told them NOT to ship to that address, and gave them my new one, and they replied back that they would, no problem. I never got the disc, and it turned out it got stuck at the post office in my old neighborhood for a while before being returned to the seller. I emailed back and forth with him, but never got the 7", and PayPal wouldn't refund my money. Finally, the seller left me this message as feedback: "BAD TASTE IN MUSIC FROM THIS EBAY NEWBIE,how do you get thru life on your own?" Thanks, jerk.
