  1. i tried but even if i did i probably couldn't say
  2. I know him and can vouch for him. Now, who's going to vouch for me, I dunno...haha...
  3. I have my 7 inches in plastic boxes w/ a lid from Target that are the perfect size for them. They are all in plastic sleeves. I have a record shelf for the 10"s and LPs, which I keep separate. A lot of times I'll keep the record sealed, unless the shrink wrap looks really tight, then I'll pop it and put it in a sleeve. I have CD shelves and the record shelf made by a place in SF. They sell them at Rasputin's and (used to at Tower). I don't have the name handy, but they are great. I also have a one cube record crate from the same company. I've never had much problem w/ ringwear keeping the records in their jackets. I guess that doesn't sound crazy though. Everything stored vertically of course.
  4. got mine on friday, gray, w/ the small brown bike cd. and one in just an inner sleeve.
  5. back before Green Day blew up, Lookout was hella fast (but I did live on the California central coast). There would be a week turnaround on mailorder. The Queers also pulled their catalog, btw...but went back to Lookout at one point. Favorite Lookout Releases (not in order): Green Day - Kerplunk Weasel - Anthem for a New Tomorrow OpIvy (obviously) Vindictives - Many Moods Avail - Over the James Punk USA comp Alkaline Trio Hell Yes 7" I won't count Panic Button (Death by Television, Major Label Debut, and Four on the Floor)
  6. The Revolution CD was also on Liquid Meat/KAT Records A-F also did a vinyl repress didn't they? There is also a cassette-only release called Touch the Sun...before the reunion shows they posted all(?) the songs from both that and Broken Songs on their myspace page. Strike Anywhere had a demo CDr no other 7 inches, but some otherwise unreleased comp and sampler tracks, some collected on the To Live in Discontent release, couple newer ones not on there there was an iTunes exclusive track on the last album. that might have showed up on the Fat online sampler later, but that might have just been the acoustic version of Hollywood Cemetery.
  7. ok, phew, ordered...i could use this package deal though...
  8. i'm trying to order and the site is not recognizing my email?? i'm trying to get one of each of the DTR/Tim Barry/Josh Small
  9. my buddy who runs high fidelity records wrote to chris about re-releasing the blatz and filth but he never heard back.
  10. The Vindictives and Groovie Ghoulies also took back their catalog. There was a good article in the local leftie indie rag: http://www.eastbayexpress.com/2005-09-14/news/kerplunk/ "The list of defectors has grown over the years to include, among others, Screeching Weasel, Avail, Neurosis, Pansy Division, Enemy You, Blatz, Filth, the Criminals, and the Riverdales." Red Scare reissued the Panic Button Lillingtons albums. The Weasel releases on Panic Button are still on Panic Button though. I think the latest is Epitaph is doing the OpIvy in the fall. It was supposed to finally be reissued by Rancid Records in March. It's crazy they've left that OpIvy out of print for so long, they must really not need the money. That remastered Downfall album doesn't seem to be on track to ever hit the light of day. I don't know how 'rare' of any of those releases will be. There have to craploads of them out there in used bins across the world.
  11. ah, for some reason, i thought they were only on color and limited run. i didn't realize they were repressing them on black, or did black too.
  12. this is my hall of fame, which i was surprised to see as i put it together really heavily influenced by my youth as a headbanger hessian. http://southpawnation.blogspot.com/2005/05/southpaw-nation-hall-of-fame-work-in.html i have really eclectic tastes though. not much i don't like, except pop-"country", Christian music, American Idol, and stuff that sucks.
  13. speaking of refused, i got a new dvd player a couple years ago that plays SACD and DVD-A, and i picked up the pink floyd dark side of the moon SACD and miles davis kind of blue and the refused DVD-A as ones just to see what they sounded like. the refused was pretty cool in that format, it had pictures that would change w/ every song and w/ the 5.1 mix was interesting. the pink floyd SACD is actually really cool and since it also has a regular CD layer, i kept that one. the kind of blue didn't blow me away (the DVD-A, not the album, which i already have on CD), and i ended up selling the DVD-As. i wasn't going to listen to those formats much, if ever.
  14. jade tree didn't put out the vinyl, chunksaah did looks like it's still avail http://www.chunksaah.com/news.html i looked and i must have sold it, cuz it's gone...
  15. yea, i have a clear blue w/ the black 'smoke' spot and above the city on red w/ some marbling. i can't tell from the pic if it was translucent or solid, i'll have to dig it out to look again. http://burntwolf.com/index.php?title=The_Sinking_Ship http://burntwolf.com/index.php?title=Above_the_City i'll take a look at your list... i really liked the workers union ep and the earlier stuff a lot, but the newer stuff hasn't grabbed me. even when i saw them live i was totally into the ep songs but not so much the rest. i really need to raise some cash this month, so i'll be working on putting up at least a few ebay items sometime this week to start on sunday.
  16. yea i'm sure i've seen it non-promo, but i do want to say it was a UK import only thing. i picked up icky thump, but haven't listened to it yet (the lp that is). i was curious about the whole 1st lp mastered from one-inch tape thing. i can't find the article i read that talked about that now though.
  17. i think i already sold my loved ones s/t 10". that must have took forever to sell out. i seem to remember it being around for a long time. i don't think i got much of anything for it on ebay either, if i'm remembering right. i'll have to look when i get to unpacking that room. i know i'll be putting up the 2 smoke or fire lps soon. and a me first country. and probably the entire ramones tribute lps, but i've sold off some pressings over the years, so i just have mostly 1 of each now left. i didn't pick up the fat record. i like them when they come up in the 'party shuffle' a song here and there, but never really listened to them a lot all the way through. i have their 4-song demo as MP3s. i'm pretty sure i d/l'ed it from their myspace or webpage at some point. the one i'm still kicking myself for is face to face-don't turn away 1st press on dr. strange. i don't know how i missed this even existing until a few months ago.
  18. i haven't got mine yet. i haven't even opened any of them so i don't know what colors i got. i should be getting los feliz too. i didn't order the new one. i wasn't too into the 7" or live songs, so i'll be putting mine up on ebay once i get the whole set and the lp. i thought about packaging the 7" that came w/ the cd preorder w/ the lp. but i'll prob put that up by itself or something. i know tim's sister caitlin barry sang and played on the studio album. he mentioned it on stage when they were out here a few months ago. i'm curious to hear that. but, i wasn't that big into HWM and the solo stuff i thought was fine, but didn't do too much for me.
  19. benchwarmer & ps = good re: packaging, do you guys always take the inner sleeve and record out of the jacket to ship? i usually don't and have never heard of a problem w/ seam splits, but sometimes i've had people specifically request they be packaged this way. i've rarely, if ever, had an LP shipped to me this way either. i usually recycle LP mailers i have lying around, or if i'm out, i have a stack of new ones for LPs and 7 inches, which i usually save for international shipments. or for domestic USPS Priority shipments, I've used a large Priority box folded flat.

  21. Oh, I did pay $200 for all the Jawbreaker 7 inches on color vinyl. I sold them separately a few years later and made back more than that when I needed the cash.
  22. http://burntwolf.com/index.php?title=Category:Stores the only store worth going to really is Amoeba on Haight Street. the one in Berkeley has been going downhill for a few years, but also possibly worth a stop. The Rasputin's in Berkeley might be worth a stop, but prob not. The one in SF isn't so hot (it's a weird bldg though. Really skinny, 3 floors). The Amoeba in LA is actually my favorite, but the SF one is pretty cool too. there are 1 or 2 other stores on Haight, but I've never found much interesting at them. i don't know if Mission Records is still open. that is a dingy little place, but might have some surprises. it also depends if you're sticking to just SF or outlying areas. sometimes Red Devil in San Raphael has some gems. Saturn Records in Berkeley is all or mostly all vinyl. They were the ones who brokered that found Velvet Underground acetate last year. I've yet to find anything up my alley there though. Mod Lang in Berkeley's specialty is imports, so if you're looking for stuff from the UK, that is usually a good place to look. It recently moved and I haven't been to the new store yet. So, it's in El Cerrito now, not Berkeley (still East Bay). there is also some supposedly famous store out in Mill Valley that like Mick Jagger and people like that visit when they're in town. I assume that's mostly 'rock' type stuff. I haven't made it out there yet. PS -- there is no way that Rancid/NoFX split can be worth 40 bucks. IMO. I can't remember what I sold mine for, but I doubt it was more than $25. Did they ever release the other color?
  23. I always get slammed for saying this, but I never got Lifetime. Then or now. Just not my thing at all, but I was super into Kid Dynamite and None More Black. So-so into Paint it Black. I do like similar bands like Trial by Fire and the Shook Ones, though. But, I don't get the Lifetime comparisons. Kid Dynamite sure.
  24. I just found a copy of this. besides being oop, is it rare/valuable do you know? I have no problem getting rid of it if you're intersted in buying it. nah, if I wanted it anymore I'd have kept it (I had just kept it for so long because of the Olivia-Betty Page art). They seem to show up pretty regularly, but I've seen it go from $15-$45 or so. I can't remember how much mine went for, but it was around the higher end at the time.
