i'd be more excited by this if i hadn't heard the last 6 albums...
-
yea, I'll be getting this but Let Them Eat Vinyl seems less than legit. Hopefully it sounds good. I have been underwhelmed w/ Weathermaker's own vinyl pressings so I doubt it could be much worse anyway. It will be digitally sourced undoubtedly. But I've seen where people seem to think LTEV puts out high quality, if dubious legality, stuff.

Queers-Love Songs for the Retarded (Lookout pressing)
Mad Caddies-Quality Soft Core
Common Rider-Last Wave Rockers
Randy-Human Atom Bombs

i wrote them and they would ship media mail for $5 (no tracking) and refund the shipping difference after the order is placed. but, looks like over 300 people are fine w/ the shipping costs...black and silver gone...
oh well
-
yea, i was going to grab a black but 10 bucks shipping cooled my heels...
-
I got my green w/ splatter the other day. Spun it today. Annoying edge warp kinda jacks up side B (side A didn't seem too affected, but Side B def was) but otherwise cool. Still hope they or someone does Rises in the East/Workers Union too.
-
i would totally get a single disc version of that if it had this tracklisting
BewitchedIndian Summer
In Between
Hangman
Crashing Through
Cat Walk
Other Side Revolution Come and Gone Red Head Walking Fortune Cookie PrizeLeft Behind
Cry for a Shadow
Collide
Pinebox Derby You Turn Me On Godsend -
Bass player Dale Flattum wrote this about the reissue, it's interesting:
I admittedly had mixed (and indifferent) feelings when asked about reissuing and remastering our old records, but it's not often that you get a chance to fix your past. (Or at least
does that mean other reissues are going to be coming?
-
Anyone get theirs yet?
I got my yellow/green one. It came w/ a seam split (I had asked vinyl to be shipped outside sleeve but it wasn't). That was a bummer. And an edge warp was a bummer. But, Side B has a major defect that definitely screws up the first few songs. Pretty big round scuffs.
I wrote them for a replacement copy.
-
heh 1234go had one or two w/ yellow stickers that said "grey" and one w/ green sticker that said "gray" (and was a buck more). i thought you had said white was a green sticker not yellow so i took a flier on that one. oops. but, they both had "grey/gray" written on them. in any case, the green sticker was a gray record.
Might be worth mentioning Permanent Records in LA seem to have a few copies on coloured wax:

My white copy had a yellow sticker just like the left-most copies in the back row + Liz & Lance (the owners) are ITR labelmates so it wouldn't surprise me if Larry gave them a few to sell.

i would guess most later lookout stuff was 500-1000max.
you could ask the guy who wrote punk usa: the rise and fall of lookout records. he might have some insight.
-
weird...someone shoulda done workers union/rises in the east on vinyl by now...
fat killed the red scare reissue but i bet they wouldn't care now
-
Yea I did. Another replacement on the way.
-
Rhino replacement = same issues
-
i missed the clutch psychic warfare online order so if anyone is there and wants to pick one up for me lemme know. or if anyone sees it go back up.
did the people who bought the screaming trees compare it to the MOV pressing? did they use same plates? the MOV sounds awesome and is way better than my OG pressing.
-
it's also a little strange since these came w/ the vinyl in nice anti-static sleeves w/ the original paper sleeve replica also included.
-
Did anyone else pick this up?
Mine came hella scuffed and scratched up, and my replacement is even worse.
Can a brother get a decent pressing of anything these days...good lord...
Dr Rhino claimed they hadn't heard of any issues w/ this title yet.
Maybe bc I'm the only one buying it? Hah...
At least i have my original pressing from the UK...but I was hoping the first US pressing would be cool.
-
man, it seems like the HT would sound really great w/o the super annoying crazy amount of surface noise. even after cleaning it twice on the nitty gritty. hasn't knocked it down much. it also has a slight edge warp and a little chunk out of outer edge. and i might be crazy but it seems a little 'oblong'. center label is prob off.
-
I got my shipped to local HT copy last night. Was packaged very well. I was kinda worried they were going to throw the LP into a box w/ a bunch of other crap and it would be all bent to hell or something. But it was in bubble wrap in its own separate box.
Once the kid stopped jibber jabbering w/ her co-worker about being bummed out about how she always gets sorted into Gryffindor ("so basic!") when she does Harry Potter quizzes and got around to coming to the counter to go get it out of the back anyway...
I never did get any emails about the download codes I was supposed to get for the tickets I bought for Oct show. I should look into that.
-
the "over"...haha...at least they numbered the first 666 and didn't just claim it was out of 666
and 83 bucks for the /500 blue...ouch
-
I got confirmation of shipping to local HT
-
prob 500 until those sold out then ordered up another 500 and will say it's /500

Also go look for Above the Law-Livin like Hustlers, The D.O.C.-No One Can Do It Better and Tairrie B-Power of a Woman
and, of course, you need Eazy-E-Eazy Duz It
Niggazforlife is also pretty good even w/o Ice Cube.
Eazy-E, NWA, and at least a couple of the Ice Cube were all recently reissued too (some w/ lenticular covers.)

Would be about time. they should put Over It on Big Choice reissue. Someone offered me too much not to sell the self-titled; I would buy a reissue of that one. I would prob buy reissues of Big Choice and Over It even though I've held out against crazy offers for those too. It would be nice if they did a proper job reissuing Big Choice. We will see I suppose.
Don't Turn Away is one of my all-time favorite albums ever of any genre.
