  1. Had a really cool experience with Fat Possum. I bought two Ellis records from them, one pink and one coke bottle. When they arrived, there was a note in the package saying they were out of the pink so they just sent the white. The other one was wrong as well––they'd sent a plain black instead of the coke bottle. I emailed them about it asking for a refund, but they responded within an hour saying the correct variants were on their way to me and that I could keep the old ones. Sure enough, the replacements were correct (and stunning). It was really refreshing to see a label handle this sort of situation so well, so big big kudos to FP.

  2. Few suggestions:

    Dides http://dides.bandcamp.com/

Unique instrumental chillwave from the dude behind From Indian Lakes.

    Unconditional Arms https://unconditionalarms.bandcamp.com/album/what-i-had-left-behind

Very solid post-rock a la Tides of Man.

    Holden Days https://blurescent.bandcamp.com/album/sylvan-lands-vol-ii

Chill dream-twinkle-folk, kinda like a hazier, more ethereal Fleet Foxes.

  3. I remember preordering the /100 variant of Anymore only for the label to email saying they overcounted, so I ended up getting the black along with a free consolation LP I had to get rid of. Wish I would've gotten this /100, but I guess I'll settle for the /150 even though clear isn't my thing. Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen this time around.

It's like the climax of Halls of Summer stretched out for an entire track.  I'm way into it.

    Perfect description.

I also didn't realize their last LP was in 2015. Listened to that one quite a bit but haven't gone back in a while. But this new track is more engaging than a lot of stuff off Dust imo. It's giving me some Tides of Man vibes and I really dig that.

Exactly. People assuming you only dislike these albums just because they are not Peripheral Vision is a lazy argument.

It is possible for an album to lack any depth, be forgettable, and hold no lasting value to a person. This isn't new, and Turnover didn't invent the boring album, they just perfected it (ohhhhhhhhhhh!)

You can @ me next time, man. It's not a lazy argument––what I said holds true for the majority of people criticizing Turnover's new stuff. Notice how my response literally says "if you don't like the new stuff on its own, that's fine." But you can't blame me for being fucking sick of the majority of people whining that it's not PV when that's not the point.

Shhhh you’ll offend sunshine and he’ll think you’re a pleb. It doesn’t matter that this album is hot garbage at all.

I just think it's hilarious that we have a bunch of adults bickering over a band.

The problem isn't that this album is bad on its own merit. The problem is, like deafening alluded to, whenever people talk about Turnover, they're talking about PV.  Comparing GN and Altogether to PV really hurts them as independent albums. Like, yeah, GN sucks in comparison to PV, but I like quite a few of the songs because I take them as they are. Same with Altogether. If you don't like Altogether on its own, that's fine, not your thing. But not liking something doesn't mean it's bad.
