  2. You are looking at New Lacquers from the original version, from two years ago. That is not this project. This project was started last summer, thanks. -J.
  3. Glad you all dig the new variant, I do too (I chose it). Hopefully it will look close to our mock up as intended. All the other photos of the other vinyl colors are real, as the records are already in hand. -J.
  4. For you Audiophiles out there, Rich just recorded a special edition of the DW Podcast w/ Kurt and myself detailing the release. More news and links when it's ready to go. Thanks. -J.
  5. Quadruple Gatefold Inner Sleeve (custom made for the project). Widespine outer jacket, not a gatefold. Thanks. -J.
  6. Thanks for the support people. No plans to ever revisit the recordings of JD, NH ATF, AWLWLB, etc. Fun fact, the main reason we were compelled to remix/remaster "Petitioning..." and "When Forever..." was that EVR lost the original packaging and audio files for both those releases. As a band we've recently taken steps to digitally archive a lot of our catalog that was on tape that was degrading. Hopefully that sort of situation will never happen again. -J.
  7. The only place to now pre-order is deathwishinc.eu, but stock there is running low as well. We are working on an additional press to meet demand. More news on that when we have it, thanks. -J.
  8. Having listened to just the title track of the Redux on soundcloud I will say this mix is drastically different. Like crazily different. I've always felt that YFM originally had a very unique mix and master and that was definitely part of its charm. It is a very dark, clouded sound but still super aggressive. This mix is explosive and in your face and also aggressive with a really bright attack. Its basically like the way the cover was flipped from all black background to all white background. It sounds literally like night and day versions. Its a very neat new perspective. Were any performances retracked? I kind of feel like there's a drum fill near the end of "You Fail Me" (Redux) that I don't remember noticing in the original. It could just be the overall brightness that is bringing it to the forefront of my mind when listening now but I remember hearing the redux and thinking that was totally new. Nothing re tracked. A lot of subtle things were lost in the original mix, are now audible. Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the support everyone. This project has been a long time coming. Kurt really did a stellar job on the remixing. We never talked about it publicly, but we had some serious hurdles during the original mix session. The power kept going out on the block for hours at a time. Essentially killing our progress each day. It eventually was finished, but we always wish we had more time with it. -J.
  10. For what it's worth Test Presses have been approved for months now. Out of our hands.
  11. Just received the Final Box as well as the Blu-Ray Packaging from the manufacturer. One of the coolest projects we've ever put together.
  12. Post below you said the pricing was "weird", which is what I was referring to. Apologies that the release as a whole doesn't appeal to you and only an aspect of it does. The deluxe box for me is about the entirety of its contents, not just the vinyl portion of it. For me personally, the book was the most challenging aspect to put together and is a bit under recognized. I'm really excited about that part of the package. Point being, we all will have some part of this that interests us more than another for one reason or another. That's the sting of putting together a package like this I suppose. With that said since this release has different medias, maybe this thread shouldn't be in the "vinyl" section of this community at all? Anyway, thanks for the interest in our label and music, it is always appreciated. -J.
  13. I think you may be missing the point of the Deluxe Box Set. It is for completists and collectors and a "special" version of the project, and not intended to appeal/please every listener/supporter of our band. Perhaps the HD-Digital or 3 X Blu-Ray versions are more fitting for you. As for pricing, it's not "weird" as it is just an expensive project for us to create, simple as that. 2 X 12"LPs, 3 Blu-Ray discs, 160 Page Perfect bound book, 16oz Slipmat, Embroidered patch, and more. Even the box itself is/was expensive to manufacture. Can't really be any more transparent than that. Thanks everyone. -J.
  14. A few notes: Deluxe Box Set: Why so expensive? Simple: It is/was expensive to create. The custom box alone is expensive to manufacture, adding 3 Blu-Ray Discs, 2 X 12"LPs w/ a Jacket, a 160 Page Perfect Bound Book, 16 oz Slipmat, and Embroidered Patch adds a much more to that expense. I should also note that this thing is a beast and weighs over 6 pounds. It's not for everyone, and isn't meant to be, that is why there are other, more affordable, options of the release to choose from. If anything the 3 X Blu-Ray version is underpriced as the manufacturing cost on that version is quite high for us as well. I'd rather get it in as many hands as possible though as I consider that the "standard" version of the release. Apparel: There is a ton of options to choose from, and yes, even sweatpants. Thought it would be fun to make them as we've never made them before. Again, not for everyone, but not meant to be either. Anyway, thanks for checking the release/project out. We've worked incredibly hard on it for years now. Your interest in it is appreciated. -J.
  15. The AWLWLB Print Series is officially over. Special thanks to all of you who picked it up. It was a huge undertaking to take on for myself and BRLSQ, and it pushed what we can create together to a new level. Now onto new projects... -J.
  16. Just checking into VC. Thanks for spreading the word on the Cold Cave release among other things we are working on. 2015 is an awesome year so far for releases. -J.
  17. Haven't had time to post in a bit. Glad you guys are all excited for the upcoming releases, we are stoked. Related, I'm working w/ BRLSQ on some crazy Print ideas for the "Year Of The Hare" artwork. Stay tuned for info. -J.
  18. New wave of Bannon Family eBay Auctions are up now: http://www.ebay.com/sch/xoboxcutterox/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
  19. Putting up another 70 or so records on Sunday. Mainly duplicates of things in my personal collection, but definitely some rare items (including an "Axe To Fall" shards) Thanks people. -J.
