  1. Personally I like to own one copy of something that I want to own, and usually the rarest as I'm also a collector. I do have friends who are completists though for sure and get one of everything if possible of artists they enjoy. To each their own, thanks people.
  2. Thanks for your input, however your generalizations on motive are incorrect. As a band we decided to make limited covers ALONG w/ different vinyl colors of a release. It was really that simple of a concept. Typically we release anywhere from 3-5 different colors of a record just to do it (always have), with the same cover usually. This was just an alternative way to approach that idea. Ironically, doing so was very expensive (commissioning art from folks and doing small runs of 500 of each double LP with this limited packaging). It actually cost us MUCH more to do this than a traditional record to manufacture. All of us (including myself) collect records and cherish variants for the same reason bands make music, for the love of it. If maximum profit was the goal, then we are in the wrong game entirely. Thanks again. -J.
  3. The Ashley Rose Couture edition is considered the "standard" version if there is such a thing here. That version will be repressed if it needs to be. All the others are a one-time only pressing. Thanks.
  4. We have copies in the KR store, but that is about it for limited versions. The first press of the Ashley Rose Couture version is also running low everywhere. Thanks.
  5. Artists interpretations aren't meant to be direct copies. Each person we collaborated with had their own vision. We celebrate that diversity and welcome it. Thanks. -J.
  6. Account Sync: Not possible across platforms. Downloads: We are working on that. Email us at [email protected] and we can help you out.
  7. We've added a "New" section to the store, featuring the newest additions, etc. https://deathwishinc.com/collections/new
  8. We offer USPS as well as FedEx for International orders. Thanks.
  9. I would assume that they will be offering any leftovers directly. Keep posted to their socials. Thanks.
  10. Yes, a new site has been launched. Customers will need to create new accounts, but the new site is awesome, so it's worth it. Filters/Tags: They all work, though we are still assigning and working on the backend daily. With Cold World for example, vinyl is not in stock, so it will not show as available but CD will as it is in stock. The search is finding the "vinyl" in the description and displaying the item because of that. Releases are self contained now, and there are no longer multiple products for different formats. If/when we can add more flexibility to searching, we will let you all know. There are a TON of items on sale now as well, be sure to check out that section of the store. www.deathwishinc.com
  11. It's the double edged sword of the format really. The actual physical playing of a record and it's surrounding environment can change so many things. Vinyl noise is almost always in some sort of surface contamination on any record. More often than not it is minuscule dust particles that are the culprit, on the record or stylus. A good cleaning will resolve a lot of that, however even the cleanest record can have surface noise that is noticeable in the lower end of it's dynamic moments, especially repetitive ones (your ear will notice subtle changes). This is why we try not to manufacture "Hazed" releases, as the process itself leaves so much surface dust/sand on a record, it isn't worth it from an audiophile perspective. Comparing vinyl colors in terms of "sound" isn't really something that will yield results based on color. Again, the X factor is always dust and contamination. Every time you take a record out of a sleeve, static brings particles to it. You'll never be able to run a proper test unless you were in a dust free NASA lab. Comparing a Test Press to the last record pressed of a 100k press would be an interesting experiment though. None of us press those sort of numbers though to do that. Plates don't deteriorate as they once did in the 70's and 80's, as we aren't pressing huge amount of records w/ the same plates in use. Plates are generally remade if they are lost, broken, or a release is moved to a new manufacturing facility. I can't speak for other labels, but we are strict w/ our Test Pressings in terms of quality. If we notice any abnormalities, they won't make it to press w/ any record. Hope this gives some folks insight into some things when it comes to vinyl. Thanks. -J.

  13. Our version is superior in both packaging and sound. In 2001, there was little attention paid to separate vinyl masters by any label. More care and consideration goes in to all aspects now by everyone. Glad you are all into the repress. It's taken a lot of work to get this release to all of you this time around. -J.
  14. Listen to "Fucking Tenderness" here: http://www.avclub.com/article/planes-mistaken-stars-announce-first-new-album-dec-241580 I'm so excited that this release is coming out soon. Brilliant band all around.
  15. Glad everyone is enjoying the new video. They put in a ton of hard work into it. -J.
  16. New song available now: http://www.metalinjection.net/av/song-premiere/oathbreaker-put-the-needles-in-your-skin-with-their-new-single -J.
  17. This album is a contender for album of the year for me. Details on the release coming soon. Thanks again for checking out the preview. -J.
  18. Thanks again everyone, we are real excited (band and label) about how this project turned out. -J.
