  1. Find someone over the age of 25 and/or with a college education who thinks the specific term "America" refers to anything outside the U.S. Good luck...
  2. The former Miss Teen South Carolina would love to give you a geography lesson. They are included in "The Americas", but are certainly not part of "America". I weep for our youth...
  3. No, you're really not even close with that. Our country's "full name" is The United States of America. America has always been used and accepted as a shortened version of that name, just like "United States", "U.S." and even "The States". English speaking nations almost always are referring to the U.S. when using the term "America". The term "Americas" (plural) is commonly used to refer to the land mass that is made up by North America (the continent where the U.S. and Canada are located) and South America (the continent currently playing host to the World Cup).
  4. Guessing you're not a business owner. But a business does indeed try to generate revenues/sales. That's all a business really tries to generate, as revenues don't just appear. Of course, the goal is to also manage expense (both COGS and operating expense) well and be left with a nice profit.
  5. Overall, a pretty solid record. I feel like it starts really strong and kinda loses momentum towards the end. Also, felt they overdid the ultra-layered background vocal choruses a wee bit. Could have been produced to be just a bit edgier, but that might just be my taste.
  6. Like a bunch of other folks here, I have placed a couple of Buddha orders over the past week. The first one was part of a multiple record order, and the order has already shipped - but without Buddha. The second order was stand alone, and was placed a couple days ago. It still shows as "fulfilling" on the site, so I was wondering if it might end up getting canceled, as well. So, I called HT customer service, hoping to get clarification. Wow, that was interesting. I couldn't decide if the customer service rep was high, simply disinterested, or possibly a VC poster "punking" me. But it was one of the more interesting customer service interactions I've had. Seemed like he was struggling to stay conscious. In case anyone is curious, his explanation of the first one being canceled was that it was "out of stock". I didn't see the point of asking how it could be out of stock, even though I have since ordered another copy and it is also still showing as available on their site. (And yes, I realize it is some manner of computer/inventory glitch). Anyway, he then confirmed that the 2nd copy is is being shipped today. Again, there was no need to ask how they are shipping a record that's out of stock.
  7. Yeah, looks like a mistake to me. That's $4.50 per album.
  8. Awesome deal for those who were able to score it!
  9. Man, I've been looking at this for the past 10-15 minutes and it has said sold out every time I've looked.
  10. Just went to the Hot Topic site to check this out. When I searched for "Misfits", the new Walk Among Us showed up with a pic of the purple & green cover. I got excited, clicked it and...the pics showed the purple vinyl and the pink cover. I was expecting the pink cover, but the purple & green image was a bit of a tease.
  11. Travis - I assume this will still have the pink cover, right? It would be awesome if they released this with the purple and green artwork.
  12. I dunno, the tour shirt was pretty sweet, too. Sadly, they didn't have one in my size. I scored the Papa/Jaws shirt, which is definitely awesome. Third time I've seen them in the past 7 months, and they've been awesome every time. Where'd you see 'em? Silver Spring?
  13. Are you referring to Secular Haze or Opus? I have the black vinyl version of Secular Haze, as well as a 2nd pressing (clear with blue splatter) of Opus. So, I'm really just looking for specific variants. But thanks for the suggestion.
  14. Looking for a 1st pressing copy of Opus Eponymous (preferable clear) as well as a clear copy of Secular Haze. I know these are pretty tough to find these days, but maybe somebody's got a copy they'd sell. If you do, PM me with details.
  15. Based on the above info, there was just one pressing and the #s shipped for RSD were perhaps somewhat random. I've seen some on eBay that were in the 5000s. So, if they really only shipped 2,000 for RSD, I would guess some lower numbers may show up later (not that it really matters). Just interesting considering the prices these have been commanding on the 'Bay.
  16. I posted a piece of information, thinking some folks may find it helpful (and a few seem to have). I didn't post hoping to create a 100-page thread and to reap all the benefits and rewards that come with that (whatever those might be). I just thought someone might find it helpful. That's all. So, I guess I just found it a little odd that a mod would say it was pointless (though harmless, I grant you). As a couple of other posters have mentioned above, not everyone on here is aware of every upcoming release. I hadn't seen it mentioned, as I hadn't weighed through the 78 pages of the other thread. Anyway, I'm moving on.
  17. It was unfair for me to label all moderators as douches. So, I apologize for that. And Shitty Rambo may not actually be a douche, either. I just thought his post came off as pretty arrogant and, well, douchey. Felt like I was being mildly called out for trying to actually be helpful. And yes, I know he officially blessed my post as "harmless". Which is kind of my point.
  18. Yes, that vote of approval was heart-warming.
  19. This site is funny. Even the moderators are douches. I thought I was being nice, posting info that I figured some folks might find interesting. If everyone on this forum already knows about every upcoming release, why does it even exist? Or does it just exist so guys can make snarky comments about other vinyl enthusiasts?
