Still waiting for this to go live. -
So, I was basically right. I wasn't specifically blaming Epitaph, just saying it seemed that "they" inadvertently pressed extra black instead of green. Does that happen often? I would think the pressing plant would have to eat the cost of re-pressing on the right color, if it's their mistake. Why wouldn't Epitaph make them correct the error? Is it just a matter of it taking too long to get them pressed again?

I find it odd that "unforeseen circumstances" will prevent them from EVER delivering the olive green vinyl. My assumption is they screwed up and didn't press the green, but pressed more black. Rather than eat the cost of pressing the green now, and/or sitting on a lot of extra black copies for who knows how long, they are making us take the black (or nothing). Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems weird to me.

PO: Iron Maiden 1980's Era Represses
romanos27 replied to andydrums's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Canceled my original order through Amazon and ordered all of the LPs through Amazon UK. Worked out to pretty much the exact same price, which is kinda funny. And the first round already shipped. Hope they actually sound good. -
PO: Misfits - Project 1950 (reissue)
romanos27 replied to xadamhudsonx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Not a fan of post-Danzig Misfits, but the artwork is easily worth the $20. -
So, what was the final answer on the color question? The European KRM site says the Army green is their exclusive, but we all know army green was also available on the US site. And the red only appeared on the European site, so I would assume that was actually the exclusive color. But the weird thing is the mock-up of the Army green on the European site looks totally different from the mock-up on the US site. So, is it possible there were actually 2 different "Army" greens?

Ordered. Thanks for the heads up, Aealo. Didn't really need it, as I already have the clear Swedish version and the black US version. Probably safe to say the devil made me do it.

I would never pay extra for an autographed record, and I kind of avoid buying pre-signed records in general. But I really dig getting them signed in person. Not sure why, just think it's cool. Here's some of what I've got: Alkaline Trio - Good Mourning (Matt, Dan and Derek) Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation (Greg, Bryan, Pete and Mike) Continental - All A Man Can Do (Rick Barton) Dan Vapid & the Cheats - Two (Dan, Simon, Mike, Rick) Devil Makes Three - Stomp & Smash (Pete, Cooper, Lucia) Dropkick Murphys - Blackout (Ken, Al, Matt, James, Marc, Tim) Dropkick Murphys - Do or Die (Mike, Rick) Flatfoot 56 - Black Thorn (Tobin, Kyle, Justin, Brandon, Eric) Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies (Dave, Bridget, Nathen, Dennis, Matt, Bob, George) Flogging Molly - Within a Mile of Home (all 7) Ghost - Opus Eponymous (Papa and all but one ghoul) Living End - Roll On (Chris Cheney) Masked Intruder - M.I. (blue, green, red, yellow) Misfits - Walk Among Us (Glenn, Jerry, Doyle) Street Dogs - Fading American Dream (Mike, Toby, Paul)

The funny thing is, I don't know that I particularly care about the topic that much. Sadly, I just like to argue sometimes. Back to talk of splatter!!!

I posted just for you, Blonk. I mean Brock. And yes, my 5 "America" posts out of the 291 pages are what really derailed the thread.
-
First off - yes, it took me over 9 hours to reply to this. So, I guess I'm late again. Oh, well. But, since I am an incredibly hard headed individual, I have to post on this subject just one last time. Plus, everyone seems to have really been enjoying it... Thank you for sharing the origin of the name "America", which some of our friends may not have been aware of. Good info. However, it still doesn't address what you seem to be missing in this. The "founding fathers" named the country The United States of America. These states are not states simply belonging to a continent (or continents) that also happen to be named America. These 50 states make up the country that is named America. I don't know if it's a perfect comparison, but New York is the name of both a city and a state. But they are most definitely 2 different things. Oh, and you can't be a citizen of a continent. So, the argument that Canadians, Brazilians, etc. are also American citizens is flawed. Lastly, my comment referring to age & education level was silly and unfair - so I apologize for that. Probably little correlation between these things. That will (most likely) be my last post about this. I think...
-
Did it really take the 5 "America" posts for you to figure out this thread is sad? You're like 275 pages late...
-
Me, since I'm right. Oh, and I forgot to mention I haven't gotten a shipping notification yet on my GH order...
-
Actually, I'm glad you posted this. Because U.S. citizens are most definitely referred to as Americans by people around the world. But I don't recall ever hearing Canadians or Mexicans referred to as Americans. Interesting, since, according to some other posters, we all live in "America".
