I guess I'll believe this "official" reissue of Mechanical Animals when I see it. Of course, rumors of a reissue would be floating around after I just forked out the cash for a white/blue first pressing a couple weeks ago . Earlier in this thread, everyone was hyped for the supposed official reissue of Antichrist Superstar (as was I), and it turned out to be a bootleg. I bought it from Juno in the UK which just happens to be a brick and mortar store that does not have a history of selling bootlegs. It arrived with a bunch of sleeve damage like literally every corner of the cover was fucked. Once I figured out it was a boot, I tried to return it but they wanted me to pay for return shipping from the US in order to get refunded.

Apparently the Wax Mage edition had a choice of three different custom wood frames on the album cover. The third frame was the most expensive, something like 228 euro.

Classic, mid-90's Swedish black metal album from Vinterland 'Welcome My Last Chapter' is being reissued on Black Lodge Records. Apparently, this version has been remastered by Dan Swanö at the same studio the album was recorded at over 25 years ago. Releasing February 4th on black vinyl, purple vinyl, and CD. No it is not in transit yet but I am keeping an eye on it. Rollin' Records who are notorious for and definitely not shy about selling bootlegs says it appears to be an official pressing. I am not sure why they would mention it being an official pressing if it was something they would gladly sell on their app as an unofficial release.

My crystal clear with white/turquoise splatter arrived here in the US a couple weeks ago. This variant also suffers from tons of surface noise. I found it to be really unfortunate because in my opinion this album is the weakest material that the band has ever released. I couldn't even make it through an entire playthrough the first time I gave the album a spin. Being an avid Rivers of Nihil fan, I gave the album a second chance last night. I made through an entire playthrough of the album, however, any chance of digesting or gaining appreciation for the different style the band displays on this album was completely marred by the quality of the pressing. It's extremely difficult to focus on the direction the band is going when literally every 2 to 3 seconds I am being side tracked by a random loud click or pop.

I ordered from that Juno UK site yesterday with FedEx shipping and they have already sent me a tracking number. I'll report back with what I receive once it gets here.

I'm curious to see how the Children of Bodom reissues from NESI sound in comparison to the Svart Records reissues from 2019 and 2020. As I already have the four Svart Records reissues, I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on these. I feel like all I am going to be missing out on is the numbered OBI and that sweet NESI paper they use for their covers.
