  1. Most tire shops will patch it for free from my experience. I've had tires patched at multiple shops and I've never been charged for it. I bought a set of tires for my old car a few weeks ago and found a small nail in one of the tires. I bought a kit and tried patching it myself and failed because the hole wasn't big enough for a plug. I ended up taking it to a tire shop the next day and they patched it for free.

Just had a tire plugged for free today myself.
  2. Everyday is ok, that's near the venue. 2nd ave is awesome and downtown, highly suggested. Mississippi is in my area of town and by far my favorite. Jackpot is alright and there's one nearish the venue/everyday.

Voodoo doughnuts is...a thing I guess. Definitely not the best in town, but gimmicky. It's great if you're vegan, but still not as good as blue star! Sizzle pie is tops though :)

2nd Ave is seconded. Jackpot downtown is closed. The one on Hawthorne is still open. Crossroads on Hawthorne is pretty cool if you have a bunch of time to sift through a ton of used stuff.

  3. Me too. I hate cases but after trying and returning like 4 different cases that I hated, I picked up one of the official apple ones and I'm fine with using it. I have the silver phone and the white silicone case fits nicely with it.

Has anyone noticed a large spike in data consumption with their 6/6+? We don't have unlimited data plans in Canada. But when I had my 4s I had a 1gb plan that I never went over because I use wifi at home. When I upgraded I switched to a 3gb plan which I somehow managed to blow through in 2 weeks as well as maxing out my broadband allotment at home this month. I haven't been downloading anything big. Is this phone just a data sucker??

I have to say the signal strength is pretty shit too. When using my cellular network as opposed to wifi, nearly my whole house is a dead spot. I never had this issue with my 4s.

under "settings/cellular" there is a list of apps and it shows how much data the apps are consuming. Might give you an idea where all that data is going.

  4. No. Bought directly from verizon. A buddy got his phone right afterme and hooks it up to his mac with zero problems.

Which Mac are you using? Have you tried other cables or USB ports? You might want to open the Console app and see if there are any errors reported when you first plug the phone in. Otherwise, your best bet may be taking it to an Apple Store and have them look at it, especially if it's still under warranty.

  5. Shoot, I remember being able to partition a part of the iPod Classic's drive which could be used an an external HDD, those were the good old days before everyone and their mom had macbooks, from what I can tell the only way to simply import media from your iOS device is through iPhoto on a Mac, otherwise you're forced to use other means.

Are you trying to do this on a Mac or Windows or other?

If you are just trying to get photos/videos off the device, windows has been the easiest for me because it can be done through the file system. Mac is a little more cumbersome because you need to use an application like image capture to copy them to your computer or use a program like iPhoto to manage your library.

  6. General iOS question

Is there a simple way to move videos and photos taken with an ipad over to a PC? My daughter has a ton of goofy videos she made that she wants to keep but has no room to install new apps. In a perfectly sane world iTunes would just let me drag and drop this stuff into my library, but alas that is not an option and I seriously spent 30 minutes on Google looking for a way to do this and all I could find were terrible Apple forum threads advising people to install WiFi transfer apps that only work with photos.

Can this even be done? Seems like pretty simple and completely reasonable task that shouldn't take this much effort... Goddammit.

You should just be able to hook the device to the computer with the USB cable and transfer the videos to the computer like you would with a digital camera.

    Check this link:

Edit: You should also be able to navigate to the device through "My Computer" and just drag and drop them to your hard drive.

  7. It's nearly impossible for me to get angry, I just get really sad. Even if I'm pissed off I cry. Struggles.

Happy Halloweeeeeeen! I'm still a Debbie downer today, maybe by a miracle work will make it better?

I think I'm just gonna say fuck apple for my MacBook since no one can give me a steady answer. My grandpa fixes computers so I'm gonna call him today and talk about getting my harddrive backed up and then doing a complete erase and software restore. It's a software issue, this should fix it (which seems to be what the dudes at the Apple Store think.)

If it doesn't work, it's the logic board and the apple support lady on the phone is right. It's a lot of work to replace a logic board but a lot cheaper if I just do it myself.

    Fuck you, apple.

    Is the computer booting?

Have you tried booting into/running the Apple Hardware Test? It might help point you in the right direction.

The process may be a little different depending on which machine/os.

What model is your computer? Which OS are you running?

  8. The Popmarket deal today is the Adore reissue.

    $29.99 for the Vinyl LP

    $76.99 for the 6-CD/DVD Boxset

    Use popmarket15 for 15% off

(Both can be had for $90 with the discount)

Thanks for posting the deal and coupon code!

I reluctantly ordered both, but I'm having flashbacks from the last time I ordered an SP bundle from Popmarket. It was on "backorder" for several months before they just canceled my order. Then the same deal popped up again 6 months later, so I reordered. Same story with the 2nd order. Backorder for several months and then a cancel.

I hope this experience is a little better.

  9. Follow up to my last post- get a G3 if you're sticking with Android. It's the shit. You can also use the Stump app to root it within 5 minutes of owning it :)

I called Verizon yesterday, the CS rep said that trading in your device doesn't even guarantee you'll get $200 towards an iPhone 6, they have to appraise the condition of it. A family member who works for Verizon told me that they were instructed to not offer more than $70 for a 4s.

I just got back from the Verizon store where I traded my 4S in and got the full $200. If possible, it's better to go directly to the store than doing it online. In store they do the evaluation in front of you and you get instant credit, as opposed to shipping your phone off, waiting for their appraisal, and 4 - 6 weeks for the gift card delivery.
