  1. Has there been any indication if Bridge & Tunnel and Fangs of the Fox will be on the RSD release or if they're staying exclusive to the boxset 7"?
  2. Gotta be. Cincinnati always gets lumped in with their little "pre-tour" run of warm-up shows, then we get left off the full deals. Not that I'm complaining, that show a couple weeks ago was very good, a nice mix of their discography. Also, other than his son's name, an Atlas is a book of maps so yeah.
  3. I felt this way after the first couple of listens. I would still say it's Coheed lite even. But the catchiness of the songs won me over, the track by track article about the songs really pushed the story behind them for me, and really as a husband and father From Here to Mars, Ghost, and Atlas really struck a chord with me. Claudio really opened up on this, and without the thick candy sci-fi coating they do come off a little cheesy. But I wouldn't say they have no soul, dude's leaving putting his feelings out there on this. You can't have many more life changing events than he did writing this and they're all on here. It's definitely different, I don't put it in the same ballpark as most of the other albums, but I still like it. I think if they were grabbing for exposure they would've abandoned the concept way before their 8th album. Telling people to download is simply getting credit for their work, can't really blame them for that.
  4. James Flames is awesome. Glad to see him get some recognition from the Mondo camp!
  5. You mean people are finally seeing the assholes for who they are? Wasn't funny when they were insulting people's children on Facebook, isn't funny when it's transgender people either. Glad it finally caught up with them.
  6. It would be cool if they released straight up acoustic demos (like the leaked IKS stuff) rather than the home recordings of the finished songs. I'll definitely pick this up though, hopefully it's as easy to get as the Afterman demo releases.
  7. Very surprised at how many people didn't like the Afterman albums, or at the very least don't hold them in high regard. They're almost a perfect blend of their sounds over the years and the story is so good. If anyone has the "Amory Award" set and wants to part with it let me know, I regret selling mine awhile back. I have totally fallen for this album though, so my comments a few pages back are void. Not sure where I'd put it on the Coheed totem at the moment, but it's a great straight forward look into Claudio's life.
  8. Dude, I can't wait to hear what Evan and Matt created with them.
  9. Haha, indeed! Happy dance + Vin Diesel. I was luckily able to get a "scratch & dent" copy of "This is Animal Music" from Suburban Home back in the day. Love this band, can't wait to hear this. New Look Mexico AND Signals Midwest next spring/summer? Heck yes.
  10. hooked up the people I could with a tour lp and slipmat. Thanks for playing! Now waiting for Thank you Scientist to hit the stage...
  11. Motherfu....after I spent a ridiculous amount (face value) on a single ticket. Good luck. Side note, anyone know if they were limiting vinyl at the show last night?
  12. Just caved and bought my ticket to their show Tuesday. I'll see what the vinyl situation is and try to pick up an extra (assuming they have them). Please don't pm me looking for one, I'll post in here if I have an extra. This album is growing on me quickly. Some of the songs are super catchy. I find myself with them stuck in my head a lot.
  13. I wouldn't go that far. There were definitely the stand-out pop songs but overall they played in the same sandbox as the other albums. My knee-jerk reaction to the first listen is that there's a decent Coheed ep here. It's no accident that "You've Got Spirit, Kid" and "Here to Mars" were the first songs released from the album, they're also (IMO) two of the ones that stand out the most. "Atlas" is my personal favorite after the first listen. A lot of the other tracks just sound like stripped down Coheed to me, very basic 4-minute songs that just trail off into oblivion and suddenly you're onto the next track. I found myself thinking "oh, that's it? that one's over?" more than once. I'm not ready to write it off, I definitely want to give it more listens (especially with vinyl or a better quality digital version). A big part of me misses the story, that was half the fun of going back and picking the lyrics apart. These songs are pretty straight forward, which isn't bad, but coming from a band like Coheed it's underwhelming.
  14. There's absolutely no reason based on the songs they've released that this WOULDN'T be extremely poppy.
  15. I wish I were a Moving Mountains fan. As it stand I only like Prawn, I don't think I can talk myself into 2 songs for $16.
  16. Not sure about a Topshelf variant, I would much rather get it from them.
  17. Pre-order is up: http://hellomerch.com/collections/moving-mountains/products/moving-mountains-prawn-split-12-vinyl 180g Black: 200 Clear w/Light Blue Splatter: 300 Solid Blue: ??? 18. This. Although I think if you've got to do a bunch of these you could make a spray shield for the records with a piece of cardboard with a label sized hole in the center to apply the spray to the record itself. Maybe put felt on the one side that will touch the record so you can apply some pressure and there's no chance for the spray to get outside of the area you want it. It is quite messy though so you'd have to be extremely meticulous about it and choose an area you don't mind being sticky for awhile because it gets everywhere. Rubber cement is the easier clean up option, but more labor intensive.
  19. So I bought this years ago online, never really wore it and it has just hung in a closet ever since. Thought maybe there'd be a fan of the band on here that might like it. It's definitely the highest quality band hoodie/jacket I've owned. Everything is stitched or embroidered on, no screen print or anything. Features a huge heart skull on the front, small "Alkaline Trio" text logo on one of the front pockets, and the small heart skull & text logo on the sleeve. In perfect shape, size is XL. I've tried looking up info on it to see what tour it may have been from but I couldn't find anything. $20 plus shipping, pm me if you want it.
  20. The same white vinyl discussion is happening right now in the Futher Seems Forever thread, haha: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/115209-po-soon-further-seems-forever-%E2%80%93-the-moon-is-down/page-11
