  1. I usually get about 4 per month. I spend way more time and energy on records than money; partly because I don't want to clutter my shelves with a bunch of stuff I never listen to and partly because I've got a wife and daughter to think about. Also, I think it would be kind of boring to be so rich you could buy every record you've ever wanted.
  2. Totally agree with this. I wish all labels would keep their releases in print in one color and do limited variants if they feel the need. The limited variants would satisfy the collectors who want rare stuff and the plentiful one would satisfy the people who just love the music and want to be able to listen to it on vinyl without spending a day's wages.
  3. They were 9.99 at my local store! I got a new 180 gram Velvet Underground & Nico for 11.99 instead. They gave me a free Cave Singers 7 inch too, so that was pretty cool.
  4. I was able to go to his show in L.A. and it was incredible. One of the best shows I've ever witnessed. I kind of hated this performance on Fallon though. I just felt like, out of context, it lost all its weight. Also I remember reading a quote from Sufjan about a year ago where he said he would never perform on late night tv even though he gets asked all the time because he thinks those shows are lame. I wonder why he changed his mind. Maybe he had too much fun guesting with The National earlier this year.
  5. Exactly! I went to the Juliana Theory reunion show but wish I hadn't. Brett seemed like such a tool and the crowd clearly cared a whole lot more about Emotion is Dead than the band did. Brett would even make comments like, "I honestly don't remember the lyrics to this..." as if he was way too awesome to take any of his old songs seriously. Anybody else go the one of those shows and get that vibe?
  6. I can't decide on the order but I like these 10 a whole lot: Wovenhand - The Threshingfloor Midlake - The Courage of Others Beach House - Teen Dream Rocky Votolato - True Devotion Local Natives - Gorilla Manor Aloha - Home Acres Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz The National - High Violet Hoquiam - s/t Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
  7. These sound like they're going to be amazing and $19.99 is 5-10 bucks less than I expected. Nice!
  8. I actually got a 180g as well, but the AFS colors usually look so good I had to add one of those too. I wish so bad I would have known when Beneath Medicine Tree came out so I could've picked up one of the green/black splatter copies. I've never had a 180g and regular copy of the exact same album so I'm really curious to hear the difference. Either way, it'll be the last time I buy two versions of the same album. I don't know how people can afford collecting variants.
  9. I had the hardest time deciding which "In Motion" color to get. Went with clear/solid brown. I'm hoping it's a dark brown and not that dull light brown I've seen sometimes. Which did you all get?
  10. Picked up Broken Bells for myself and a colored BTBAM to hook one of you guys up at cost plus shipping. PM me if you want it. Maybe I'll do a raffle or something.
