I am married and have a son so i know what it's like to "settle down". I don't go to shows as much for there aren't any decent shows where I live. The best record store in town is coconuts and trying to find vinyl at my local independent store is like shopping for a car. i have to negotiate and haggle to get get them for a decent price. So sometimes it's the location not the person.

That's exactly what I do. Keep a few pages open and each window has a higher bid than the other. It makes it easier and a lot quicker to place multiple bids.

I've never seen Tim Barry solo live but the music doesn't draw my attention, it actual repels it. i find my mind drifting and thinking about something else. It's not just Tim Barry, it's the whole genre.

Being that I turn thirty in a few weeks I have found myself in a bubble of sorts for several years now. i still listen to some of the music that I did in high school and the subsequent years after but I look for music that I can enjoy not only for me but for my son. In high school I listened to a lot of different genre's. There was hardcore, metal, punk, goth, industrial, ska, ska-core, blah blah blah. I still listen to the records and bands that I can/could identify with or records that mean a lot to me, i.e. Face to Face, Suicide Machines, Hope Con, American Nightmare, Skankin' Pickle, and so on. When I moved away from my friends and family my music got more selective in what inspired me, motivated me, and just excited me. I mean I could buy cd's and records all the time but I was looking for more substance in my music. With my son now 2 1/2 years old my music choices now involve him for he is around me a lot when the musics being played. I can't play Trash Talk, Converge, or Curl Up and Die all the time. I now have to mix it up and make sure there's some poppy, goofy and kiddie tunes in there. I love discovering new bands, Hellmouth, Doomriders, Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, Broadway Calls, and won't stop. It's just that now I go about it a different way. I like to hear snippets of songs or the old fashion way of samplers. I don't think I will ever stop I just think it will change as my life and my priorities change. I read reviews, message boards, distros and so on about new releases and bands but I buy selectively. Bands like Gaslight, Against Me, Tim Barry and the whole acoustic movement doesn't do anything for me so I look at bands that I may have missed. By doing this I have (re)discovered Avail, Kid Dynamite, Lifetime, Saves the Day, and so on. For me it's never ending, it's just may take me longer to get around to bad ass bands than it does some.
