From vinyl I love test press. About every forth record I buy is a TP.

I'm a hardcore kid (well I'm 33 so maybe not a kid anymore). I'm sXe for 15 years now and proud.

I love my cat and wife.

I work for a big corporation but do not allow them to mess with my head.

Vinyl is okay but concerts are the real deal. Live music wins always and with everything.

This thread is crazy! How do you guys get all of these tests?

About 50% eBay - this is the heavy $$$ way. But not always. Depands on luck and what you looking for.

About 30% direct from label - there are a lot of labels with cash needs. Reasonable prices here if you buy more, often with some regular editions.

About 10% from bands - talk to them during shows. Some can help with rare stuff.

About 10% other - someone just decided he's tired of vinyl. I'm sure.

Really is there a change to buy a test press?

Where can I find pressing infos? I was looking for numbers of color and black but can not find it. Can you share it here?

 

Anyhow, it's awful stupid to make two single LPs instead one 2LP. I will probably buy those anyway (as I have all OMG records) but can not understand why to make things more difficult.

If yes do a test. Try isopropyl alcohol or acetone (nail polish remover should do) on some surface and check if those remove it. You should use extensive amount to "wash" signed part of record. Paint is in the grooves. This may work but there is high risk that some residues of paint will stay in grooves and affect sound.

 

If you make anything with it please share your expirience.

It has to be a "medium" rare record. If it would be 500+ usd record I can not imagine you would pass it for free.
