  2. I love pickles and ranch dressing for some reason. I don't eat it as much as I used to, but when I do, I tear it up. Also, pretty much anything involving chicken. Chicken Alfredo is a particular joy. Also, two chicken breasts in a crock pot with a can of cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soup = delicious.
  3. Can not wait for this. Junius is such an awesome band and such nice guys. Also, this is up for free download from www.gimmesound.com/junius. I already pre-ordered the album on the black/bronze. It's nice to have some instant gratification.

  5. If you're looking to come as far down as Jacksonville, FL, there are a couple of places you could try for here. Shanytown Pub -- This is a pretty cool little club. It's very tiny, but it usually has a crowd no matter what. The shows are all free, but they usually do a collection for the touring bands, and you can also sell merch. London Bridge Pub -- I've never been here, but my band is supposed to play there next month. It's supposed to be a pretty good punk venue. There are a couple of others, but I can't think of them right now. If you're planning on coming this far down, let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.
  6. Sucks! I have been waiting for this for so long. One of my top faves for last year, hands down.
  7. My point is missed. Regardless of who you are, how successful you may or may not be (and unless you are in The Aquabats or closely affiliated with them, I don't think you have the insight to say that they do or do not have enough money to do anything), the thing is : Maybe they just don't want to do all that stuff. Why is that so bad? If I put it another way: Say you're in a band, and everythings going well and dandy. Then there's some line up changes and stuff, and you're not really happy with the people you're around or the music you're making, and you decide to leave and do other things with your life (musical or otherwise). Would we be judging you this way? Calling you "such a rockstar" for leaving just because you don't want to put up with those things? Granted, this is an imperfect analogy. But it illustrates my point somewhat: Who cares if they CAN do it. It's whether or not they WANT to do it that's the issue.
  8. I think that people sometimes tend to forget, especially in a DIY minded community, that not everybody has the money, knowledge, skill, desire, etc. to actually do everything themselves. Sure, there are a lot of small labels and bands out there DIY-ing it, and that's great. But these people usually have day jobs to pay for their necessities and the projects they are funding. A band like The Aquabats, I imagine, do not have day jobs to fund a release. That's not to say that they couldn't find the money/make the money/get the money somehow, but perhaps that they just wouldn't want to do that. So no, it's not a sad mentality on their part.
  9. I am actually in a Smiths tribute band in Jacksonville. I really liked them before I was in the band. Now I can barely listen to them. Still like them. Just way burned out. Fortunately we're about to start doing originals, so maybe I can love them again.
  10. Holy shit. I can't believe you have all those Slumber Party Massacre movies. I still remember seeing Part III. Years ago and being really freaked out by the nipples on the black haired chick. They looked like they were painted on! Even funnier, part one was written by a feminist. Good luck moving those. I would totally buy all of them if I watched / had room for VHS anymore.
  11. I don't think it was a "rush job." I think they were going for a fast paced, life-on-the-run type vibe. Whether or not the pulled it off is another discussion, but I think calling it a "rush job, kitchen sink" type of thing is a little unfair. Not sure how I feel about the Sylar storyline so far though. I liked him being bad ass "I'm gonna torture them in front of you" type guy, but this whole psuedo father figure / mentor thing is kind of forced to me. I'm hoping the kid will show him where his real dad is and then Sylar will be like "Thanks for the new power." and kill him. I like Peter's "new powers." I think it will be good for the show that he's not so super powerful. Kind of digging the Parkman storyline so far. I think it's lame that they're still using the "draw the future" shit, but whatever. Glad they killed Daphne [even though there is no confirmation that she died; she may be alive and just captured.]. She was starting to get on my nerves, and it gives Parkman a purpose, which he has sorely been lacking since the end of season 1 pretty much. The Claire / HRG storyline is starting to grate on my nerves, but I'm willing to give it a shot and see how it pans out. It would be nice for Claire to be a little consistent. She keeps bouncing back from "Man, I just want a normal life." to "Man, I want to be a super hero."
  12. I agree with Loki. It's been awhile since I've seen it, but from what I remember it was really good. In fact (most people don't understand this) even though the original is truly a classic and everything, I like the remake more.
  13. Not a mistake. I picked up a copy of this at my local record store the other day. Pretty cool looking, but a strange color choice, IMHO.
  14. Just had a slew of work done to my car and need to come up with some cash. Please check out this sale/trade list and buy some stuff! No reasonable offer refused! http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pyPAkASHQzokRrbRlqdouCw I also have the Alkaline Trio shirt that came with the Maybe I'll Catch Fire deluxe set in a Medium that I'm looking to get rid of. Help a brother out!
  15. Just had a bunch of great buys by a couple of people, but I deleted all their info before I made this post! I am an idiot! The only ones I remember is xfedupx and lastwordspoken. To anyone else, remind me and I'll add your name on here. Just bought a record from Blanketbyday. good price, shipped really quickly, and arrived in great condition.
  16. Thanks for the heads up on the Gaslight anthem. From what I've heard by them I haven't really gotten into them, but they sound like they'd be good to see live. I may go check them out. My ex-girlfriend went to it a couple of weeks ago and said the bloody mary house was alright, but dead exposure [which I believe is the outer space house?] was terrible, so I guess there's no predicting. I found Rock'N'Roll Heaven on a Google search earlier today. I guess now that I have a recommendation I'll have to check them out. Thanks guys!
  17. Tried a search, but nothing came up. I'm going to be in Orlando tomorrow going to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. Anybody know of any good record shops I can visit while I'm down there?
  18. I had never seen Philadelphia until I was bored one day and I watched the whole season in one sitting. Now I'm hooked. "CRAIG...T...NELSON!!!!!"
  19. When I read this title, I thought it would be about a made-for-tv SciFi Channel movie.
  20. Hey there guys. I just bought a bunch of music equipment and then found out our hours got cut at work. Sooo...here's some stuff I'm willing to part with. All prices are PPD. I would obviously perfer money to be exchanged, but I would be open for trades I think most of my prices are fair (or better), but I would be willing to negotiate. Also, if there is any interested, I have lots of DVDs I plan getting rid of, mostly old cheesy horror flicks. If there is any interest, I'll amend a list to this later tonight/tomorrow. Thanks for looking! **edit** wow...these are going way faster than I anticipated! It's amazing what a difference adding prices makes. 12” AC/DC -- Back In Black -- 180 Gram Repress -- $5.00 [Has some jacket wear; record is in good condition] Alkaline Trio -- Goddamnit Redux -- 180 Gram Sealed -- $10.00 Alkaline Trio -- Goddamnit Redux -- White -- $10.00 Alkaline Trio -- Maybe I’ll Catch Fire -- 180 Gram -- $10.00 Bad Brains -- Bad Brains -- $8.00 Danzig -- Danzig -- Picture Disk -- $10.00 HIM -- Razorblade Romance -- Pink -- $8.00 Love and Rockets - Love and Rockets -- $5.00 Madness -- Madness -- $5.00 Metallica - Kill ‘Em All -- Repress -- $10.00 Metallica - Ride The Lightning -- Repress -- $10.00 mewithoutYou -- [A->B] Life -- 1st Press Black -- $10.00 mewithoutYou -- Catch for Us The Foxes -- 1st Press Black -- $10.00 mewithoutYou -- Catch for Us The Foxes -- 2nd Press Pink -- $10.00 Murder By Death -- Like the Exorcist -- Black -- $10.00 Portishead -- Third -- 2xLP -- $10.00 She Wants Revenge -- Written In Blood - Clear Red Promo -- $5.00 Slayer -- South of Heaven -- Picture Disk --$10.00 Thursday -- Five Stories Falling -- Clear Red -- $8.00 X -- Los Angeles -- 180 Gram Repress -- $10.00 7” Coheed & Cambria -- The Running Free -- $5.00 Death Cab for Cutie -- I Will Possess Your Heart -- Sealed -- $5.00 HIM -- Solitary Man -- Etched B-Side -- $5.00 HIM -- Wings of a Butterfly -- Picture Disk -- $5.00
  21. Much love to the Thing as well. I made my girlfriend watch that with me a few weeks ago, and she was less than enthused with Kurt Russell's beard than I was. Sometimes, I just don't understand women.
  22. Only Tim and Pleased to Meet Me were re-released on vinyl I believe. And I consistently vote for Answering Machine as the best Replacements song. Definitely understand the love for Can't Hardly Wait, however.
  23. I just got in the last four Replacements re-issues that were done by Rhino, and for the life of me I just can not get into Pleased to Meet Me at all. I love all their other records to death, but I physically can not listen to this record [except for Alex Chilton] for some strange reason. Am I alone in this?
  24. How much is it worth to you? I honestly have no idea how much it's worth and I'll take any reasonable offer.
  25. Let's see if this image works for the HIM vinyl: BTW, this isn't my picture, but it might as well be. They all look the same. For the bad brains, I didn't see anything in your list that caught my eye. As for the She Wants Revenge, as far as I know it's just a promo single.
